8. Installation and initial use
Remove all packaging materials.
Before the first and each subsequent use, clean all loose parts (lid (14) and splash
guard (4), stirrer (13) and accessories), as well as the aluminium container (12) in the
appliance with a soft cloth and standard washing-up liquid. To make cleaning easier,
tilt the appliance up by 45° and wipe the aluminium container out (12) (Fig. F).
Allow everything to dry thoroughly.
Place the ice-cream maker onto a level, non-slip and heat-resistant surface.
Attach the lid (14) to the motor block (15) and push it forwards until it locks into place
(Fig. D).
Insert the stirrer into the drive shaft in the motor block (15) (Fig. E).
8.1. Using the ice-cream maker
ATTENTION!
Possible damage to the appliance!
Damage to the appliance caused by improper handling.
Do not store finished ice cream in the aluminium
container (12) under any circumstances. Use a suitable
deep freeze container.
The appliance is driven by an electric motor. This can lead to a slight smell
during initial operation. This smell is normal and is not a sign of a
malfunctioning appliance.
Ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
Fill the aluminium container (12) in the ice-cream maker with ingredients.
Use the supplied measuring cup or spoon for measuring out the ingredients.
Observe the filling volume of 400ml.
Place the fully assembled lid onto the housing (11) with the contacts (3) to the right of
the locking tab (5) so the stirrer (13) is inside the aluminium container (12).
Turn the lid clockwise whilst pushing down gently until it locks into place and the
contacts (3) on the lid are touching the contacts (7) on the ice-cream maker (Fig. G).
Connect the appliance to a properly installed mains socket. The local mains voltage
must correspond to the technical data for the appliance.
Use only the mains adapter supplied.
As soon as the plug is connected to the mains socket, the appliance will beep and the
button (18) will light up in red.
English – 37
Select the desired preparation option by pressing the button (16) or the button
(17). Once pressed, the corresponding button lights up green.
The ice-cream maker will not work if the lid is not properly attached. The
buttons on the appliance remain lit, but the motor locks so the stirrer will not
turn.
The ice-cream maker will now start to prepare the ice cream.
To add additional ingredients, such as nuts, open the lid by turning it anti-clockwise and
remove it. The appliance keeps cooling the ice cream, but the stirrer stops turning.
Once the ingredients have been added and the lid closed, the stirrer will start to turn
again and ice cream preparation will resume.
Once the appliance has been switched on, it will cool down the temperature
in the aluminium container automatically. The preparation time will depend on
the recipe and which option has been selected: button (16) or button
(17). If the ice cream mixture has reached the desired consistency, you can
interrupt the process early and remove the ice cream.
Stop the ice-cream maker before the allotted time has elapsed by pressing the
button (18). The preparation time will start again from the beginning the next time the
button is pressed.
If the ice cream becomes too thick and the motor locks so the stirrer will no
longer turn, a signal will sound 15 times and the corresponding button will
flash yellow. The ice cream will still be cooled down to the desired
consistency. The maximum operating time when preparing ice cream depends
on the recipe. A softer consistency is selected using the button (17) and
the maximum operating time is approximately 90 minutes. A firmer
consistency is selected using the button (16) and the maximum operating
time is approximately 120 minutes.
When the time has elapsed or the appliance is switched off manually, disconnect the
plug from the mains socket.
Remove the lid (14) with the motor block (15) and stirrer (13).
Press the release button (1) to remove the stirrer.
Tilt the housing to an angle of 45° (Fig. F) and use the silicone spatula supplied to
remove the ice cream from the aluminium container.
Wait until the ice-cream maker has reached room temperature before using it again.
Allow the aluminium container to reach room temperature again after it has been used
to prepare ice cream. Carefully clean the appliance parts (aluminium container, lid
with splash guard and stirrer) as described on Page 39.
