#6-3086 GRASS CATCHER KIT for
SNAPPER 26” STEEL DECK WALK BEHIND MOWERS
INTRODUCTION: This kit includes a grass catcher bag, bag support, air lifts for the blade and an adapter to mount to
the deck. This kit will convert the side discharge mower into grass bagging capability. Install the kit as follows:
WARNING
DO NOT attempt any adjustments, maintenance, repairs, or service with engine running. Stop engine. Stop
blade. Remove spark plug wire and secure wire away from spark plug. Engine, muffler and surrounding areas
are extremely hot. Avoid serious burns; allow components to cool down before installing kit. DO NOT operate
machine without recycling cover, deflector or entire grass catcher installed. Inspect grass catcher frequently
for wear or deterioration. Replace worn or damaged parts prior to operating. Wear heavy leather gloves when
handling or working around cutting blades. Blades are extremely sharp and can cause severe injury. Make sure
that fuel cap is tightened securely. If machine leaks fuel from cap when tilted back on the rear wheels then fuel
tank must be drained of all fuel. Use approved fuel container. DO NOT smoke near open fuel container. DO NOT
fill fuel tank indoors or when engine is running. Allow engine to cool for at least ten minutes before refilling.
Wipe off any spilled fuel before starting engine.
STEP 1: Rotate deflector up and out of the way.
Install adapter and secure with bolts, washers and
nuts. Tighten securely. See Figure 1.

STEP 2: Slide plastic cap over end of support. Install
bolts, spacers, lock washers and nuts into the bag
support. Tighten nuts and bolts securely. See Figure 2.

STEP 3: Align the bag support with middle handle,
use the holes in the bag support to mark then drill
three 9/32” holes in middle handle. IMPORTANT:
Make sure bag support is aligned with middle handle
before marking and drilling. Install bag support to
the upper portion of middle handle. Tighten nuts and
bolts securely. See Figure 3.

STEP 4: Position bag over the opening of the
adapter and hook bag latch over stud. See Figure 4.

STEP 5: Hook grass bag handles over the bag

STEP 6: Tilt mower back on its rear wheels for
access to the blade. Place safety blocks underneath
to prevent the machine from falling. Do not tilt
mower with spark plug or carburetor down. Remove
retaining cap screws, lock washers, nuts and cutting
blade. Install both airlifts to the ends of blade and
secure with machine screws, lock washers and nuts.
Torque to 20 to 30 ft. lbs. Reinstall blade, nuts, lock
washers and cap screws. Torque to 20 to 30 ft. lbs.
See Figure 7. Place machine back on all wheels.
