RAT DISTORTION TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Updated 2/23/16
Here are some previously reported issues & troubleshooting measures regarding RAT Distortion effects
pedals. Please refer to the specific owner’s manual for more details regarding proper use & settings.
A) UNIT WILL NOT POWER UP: Almost 100% of the time, this is the result of operator error. All
RAT Distortion units require a 9V power source. IMPORTANT: Incorrect power supplies,
including those with reverse polarity can damage your unit.
1) 9V Battery Option – Double check to see if you have a 9V battery installed. Also verify
that the 9V battery has a good charge.
2) 9V 2.1mm Barrel Connection – If your RAT Distortion unit comes with this type of jack,
you will need to verify that your power supply provides a 9V DC power output, center-
negative polarity, and at least 50mA of current.
3) 9V 3.5mm Connection - If your RAT Distortion unit comes with this type of jack, you will
need to verify that your power supply provides a 9V DC power output, tip-positive
polarity, and at least 50mA of current.
B) POWER ON INDICATOR IS LOCATED BEHIND RAT LOGO:
This is not a mistake or defect. Rather, by design, we
wanted to illuminate the “A” in the RAT logo by placing the
LED “power on” indicator behind our logo.
