Congratulations on your new baby!
Breast milk is the most precious gift you can give to your child. Human milk contains
nutrients not found in formula.
It also contains antibodies which help protect your baby from infection and stimulates the
baby’s immune system.
Breastfeeding Tips
Baby at the breast
Make a nesting station so you can nurse your baby without interruption.
• Comfortable chair w/footstool or sitting upright in bed
• Lots of pillows
• Pitcher of water
• Cut up fruit, veggies, snack, etc.
• Cordless phone
• TV remote
• When baby is at the breast his/her belly should touch your body, in whatever position
you choose to feed (cradle, clutch, or lying down).
• Use lots of pillows to keep baby level with your breasts, being sure to always hold the baby.
• Hold baby with one hand/arm and your breast with the other.
• Tickle the baby’s nose with your nipple. Make him/her open their mouth very wide.
• Guide your baby onto the breast (not the nipple). Babies need to suck the breast not
just the nipple.
• Once the baby is comfortably latched on, sit back, take a drink of water, relax and enjoy!
Most breastfed babies will want to eat about every 2–3hrs
Starting to pump
• Wash your hands.
• Wherever you are, try to make a comfortable/private space.
• Keep a picture of your baby with you, and his/her shirt or blanket (to smell).
• Fill a pitcher with water or juice.

You may do breast massage or hand expression prior to placing the Flexi-Fit
™
shields on your
breasts.
• Place the Flexi Fit
™
shields on your breasts. Make sure your nipple is centered in the shield.
• Turn the pump on.
• Relax, think of your baby, and allow your letdown reex to work for you.
• If you experience any pain or discomfort, turn o the pump, reposition and start again.
• Increase the suction to a level that is comfortable for you.
• Milk should begin owing into the bottle.
• You should pump each breast for 15 minutes.
• You may get a small amount of milk in the beginning. No mechanical device can ever be
as ecient as your nursing baby. Pumping is likely to yield more once you become more
comfortable with the process.
• When you are done, turn your settings back to low before taking the Flexi-Fit™ shields o
your breasts.
• Before storing, label milk with name and date.
• If breast/nipple pain is experienced discontinue use of pump by shutting pump o or
insert finger between the breast and breast shield to break the seal.
When to contact your lactation consultant
• If baby is less than 4 weeks old
• If baby is premature (less than 36 week gestation)
• If mother is engorged
• If mother has sore nipples
• If mother has low milk supply
• If baby has diculty latching onto breast
• If skin irritation occurs when using your miPump
This product is intended for pumping breast milk only.
Clean all parts before use. See “Breast Pump Care” for instructions.

Read all instructions prior to use
When using electrical devices, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
DANGER
To reduce the risk of electrocution:
1. Always unplug this product immediately after using.
2. Do not use while bathing.
3. Do not place or store product where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place or drop into water or other liquid.
5. Do not reach for a product that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of burns, electrocutions, fire or injury to persons:
1. This product should never be left unattended when plugged in.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this product is used near infants or children.
3. Use this product only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use
attachments not recommended by The First Years.
4. Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug, any missing components, is
not working properly, has been dropped or damaged, or has been dropped into water.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
6. Never use while sleeping or drowsy.
7. Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being
administered.
8. The AC Adapter should be unplugged from the outlet when not in use. When unit is not
going to be used for an extended period of time, store carefully in a cool, dry place.
9. The user should not attempt to service or repair the breast pump, refer all servicing to
The First Years. No user serviceable parts inside.

Assembly
The Memory Pump (double electric breast pump) is a single user device designed to express
and collect milk from the breast.
Clean all parts before use. See “Breast Pump Care” for instructions.
1. • Insert apper valve into 3 way adapter.
Insert 3 way adapter bae into 3 way adapter.
Do not attempt to remove the soft rubber
piece attached to the hard valve, as this may
damage the unit.

5. Double pumping: Insert one single hose
end into each of the 3-way adapters.

opening of handle as shown until you
hear two clicks.
7. • Fill the Freezer bottle with water to
the max fill line and place in freezer
overnight.
• The Freezer bottle is contoured to t
four 5 ounce bottles in the cooler
bag.

Single pumping: Insert one single hose end into one 3-way
adapter. The 2nd hose end can hang freely. The pump will
function properly in single mode with the open end exposed.
Note: DO NOT lay open hose end on blanket, couch etc . while

over to back side

• Each time a button is pressed the pump unit will beep.
• Touching the speaker icon located in the bottom right
corner of the screen will turn the beep o. Touch the
icon one more time to turn the sound back on.
• If the beep is turned o the screen will ash when a
button is pressed.
1. Select Milk Volume Tab
2. Enter the amount of milk pumped once the pump session is complete.
3. Input volume of milk expressed from the left and right breast by pressing the up/down arrows.
4. The pump session number, month, day, time , milk volume (L &R), suction, speed and pump
session duration will automatically be saved under Session #1 of the HISTORY tab.
5. Push the power button to turn unit o.
NOTE: Unit turns o automatically after 3 minutes when pump is left unattended (pump
motor is o and no touch screen activity).
1. Press the PUMP tab to begin a
pumping session.
2. Press the START button and the pump timer begins.
NOTE: The pump will always turn on at setting
1 for both suction and speed.
5. Press the HISTORY tab. The HISTORY screen
displayed species – date, time, suction, speed
and duration of pump session.
3. Select SAVE once you have
entered the milk volume.
3. Adjust the suction and speed settings during
the pumping session by using the up and down
arrows.
NOTE: Suction levels = 1-8 Speed levels = 1-3
NOTE: If you press the MILK VOLUME tab while you are
pumping the following message appears:
“You can enter the MILK VOLUME after pumping.”
4. Press STOP to end the pumping session.

To Begin Pumping: Always Wash Your Hands Before Pumping
1. After you have saved more than one pumping session press
HISTORY tab.
2. Using the right arrow key you can review your previous pump
sessions #2 - #10.
NOTE: The last pump session saved is ALWAYS #1.
3. The left arrow key allows you to scroll from #10 back to #1.
Note:Your nipple should be
centered and free standing,
not touching the sides of the
shield as shown. Improper
positioning can cause
irritation and pain.
1. Install battery and charge pump for 2.5 hours. Refer to” Install
battery and charge pump” section.
2. When pump is fully charged and assembled (Refer to Assebly
section) you are ready to begin pumping.
3. To start milk ow – express a few drops of milk by hand.
4a. To pump without handle: sit upright. Grasp the bottle by the
3way adapter and insert breast into Flexi-Fit ™ shield. Each
breast should completely ll the shield. Note nipple
position in illustration.
4b. To pump using handle: sit upright. Hold the pump
handle in front of your breasts and adjust the rotating
arms to a comfortable width for your breasts.
5. Follow the instructions for PUMP mode.
Pause pump session:
• If you have started a pump session and you press STOP the session
will be paused for 3 minutes.
• If you resume pumping within the 3 minutes your pumping session
will continue as if there were no interruption.
• If you do not resume pumping within the 3 minute timeframe the
incomplete session will be automatically saved in history session #1.
Data saved:
• History and set up data are saved for 3 days after battery is totally discharged.
Pump and View History at the same time:
• During a pump session you can select the HISTORY tab and scroll through your sessions.
NOTE: To reduce suction immediately, turn pump o and remove shield from breast or insert finger
between the breast and breast shield to break the seal.
CAUTION:
DO NOT fill bottle beyond the 4 or 8 oz. marking. Pumping into an overfilled bottle could damage the
pump. DO NOT lay pump hose on blanket, couch etc . while the pump is running.
This may cause foreign material to be pulled into the motor.
Clean all parts prior to initial use and after each use.
Important: Do not sterilize any part of the breast pump in the microwave.
1. Always separate the 3 way adapter from the bae, the breast shield and the
valves before cleaning.
2. After cleaning the valve, gently lift the end of the soft rubber piece (the end
with the raised bumps) to insure the soft rubber piece can ap freely and that
it is not stuck to the valve. If the end is stuck to the valve, wash valve again in
warm soapy water.
If using pump handle:
1. Remove bottle assembly by pushing the release buttons.
2. Remove hose connectors from 3-way adapter.
3. Remove shield, adapter, valve and bae for cleaning.

Tips for Freezing Milk
• Only ll container ¾ full before freezing to allow for milk expansion.
• Freeze milk in quantities of 2 to 4 ounce portions. This allows milk to thaw quicker and
creates less waste if your baby does not drink it all.
• Always use thawed milk within 24 hours of thawing.
• Never refreeze milk once it has been defrosted.
• Do not use a microwave oven to thaw frozen breast milk.
• Thaw frozen breast milk in the refrigerator for several hours or with warm water. If
thawing with warm water, you may need to gently shake the container to blend any
fat that has separated.

WARNING
• Do not warm milk in a microwave oven as it destroys nutrients and antibodies and can
create hot spots harmful for your baby.
• Do not use a bottle warmer to warm breast milk, unless the bottle warmer is specially
designed to work with breast milk.
• Never immerse a frozen bottle into boiling water as this may cause the bottle to crack.
• Always test temperature of liquid before feeding.
• Do not let child take bottle to bed or self feed for long periods.
• To prevent choking hazard, test strength of nipple by pulling on bulb portion.
Discontinue use if any tear or crack appears.
CAUTION: To Avoid Battery Leakage
• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• Dierent types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed.
• Always remove exhausted batteries from pump.
• Never use a screwdriver or any other tool to pry batteries from compartment, as doing
so may short circuit supply terminals.
• Keep batteries away from children. Parents are urged to exercise care in the storage,
use and disposal of all batteries.
In the European market the dustbin symbol indicates that batteries, rechargeable
batteries, button cells, battery packs, etc. must not be put in the household waste.
Batteries containing hazardous substances are harmful to the environment and to health.
Please help to protect the environment from health risks and tell your children to dispose
of batteries properly and take them to the local collecting points. Batteries are recycled
safely in this manner. The chemical symbols Hg (Mercury), Cd (Cadmium) or Pb (Lead)
shown on the dustbin symbol indicates that the content of that chemical exceeds a certain
limit.
1. Make sure the single ends of the hose t securely into each 3-way adapter and make
sure the double end of the hose fits securely into pump.
2. Make sure AC adapter is plugged into a working outlet and is firmly connected to pump.
3. If operating on DC power (batteries), batteries may be low so try using AC adapter.
If there is low or no suction:
1. Ensure nipple is properly centered in breast shield.
2. Make sure only components supplied are being used.
If milk is not flowing into bottles:
1. Ensure the soft rubber piece on the valve is not stuck to the valve (gently lift the side of
the soft rubber piece). If it is stuck, see “Breast Pump Care” for cleaning instructions.
2. Ensure nipple is properly centered in breast shield.
3. Check that the breasts are expressing milk.

pas juste le mamelon.
• Une fois que bébé a bien commencé à téter, c’est le moment de se détendre, de prendre
une gorgée d’eau et de profiter du moment!
La plupart des bébés allaités veulent téter à toutes les 2 à 3 heures.

• En cas de douleur ou d’inconfort, éteignez la pompe, replacez et essayez de nouveau.
• Augmentez l’aspiration jusqu’à un nouveau confortable pour vous.
• Le lait devrait commencer à couler dans le biberon.
• Vous devriez pomper chaque sein pendant 15 minutes.
• Il est possible qu’il ne s’écoule qu’une petite quantité de lait au début. Aucun dispositif
mécanique ne saurait être aussi ecace que l’allaitement du bébé. Il est probable que la
quantité de lait obtenue devienne de plus en plus abondante à mesure que le processus
deviendra plus familier et confortable.

Lors de l’utilisation d’un appareil électrique, surtout en présence d’enfants, on doit
toujours respecter certaines précautions de base, dont les consignes suivantes :
DANGER
Pour réduire les risques d’électrocution :
1. Toujours débrancher immédiatement ce produit après l’usage.
2. Ne pas utiliser dans la baignoire.
3. Ne pas déposer ni ranger cet appareil à un endroit d’où il est susceptible de tomber
dans une baignoire ou un évier.
4. Ne pas déposer ni échapper ce produit dans l’eau ou un autre liquide.
5. Ne pas tenter de sortir un appareil qui serait tombé dans l’eau. Débranchez

Assemblage
Le tire-lait Memory (tire-lait électrique double) est un appareil réservé à une seule utilisatrice,
conçu pour exprimer et recueillir le lait des seins.
Nettoyer toutes les pièces avant l'utilisation. Voir « Entretien du tire-lait » pour toutes consignes.
1. • Insérer la valve à clapet dans l'adaptateur à 3
positions.
• Insérer le séparateur de l'adaptateur à 3
positions dans ce dernier.
• N’essayez pas de retirer la pièce de
caoutchouc souple fixée à la soupape rigide;
cela risque d’endommager l’appareil.

6. Lors de l'utilisation de la poignée pour le tire-lait double,
pousser le biberon avec l'adaptateur à 3 positions dans
l'ouverture de la poignée, comme illustré, jusqu'à ce que
les deux clics se fassent entendre.
7. • Remplir le biberon spécial congélateur
d'eau jusqu'au trait de remplissage
maximum, et le mettre dans le congélateur
jusqu'au lendemain.
• La forme du biberon spécial congélateur
permet d'en placer 4 de 148 ml chaque
dans le sac isotherme.

positions. La 2ème extrémité du tuyau pendra librement. Le tire-
lait fonctionnera correctement en mode simple avec l'extrémité
ouverte exposée.
Remarque : NE PAS poser l'extrémité ouverte du tuyau sur une
couverture, un canapé, etc., lorsque le tire-lait est en cours de
fonctionnement.

Conguration: À l'aide d'un trombone, insérer l'extrémité
dans la zone de réinitialisation située sous l'écran de
Memory Pump et appuyer.
Charger le tire-lait pendant 2,5 heures permet d'obtenir quatre tirages de 15
minutes.
REMARQUE: Vous pouvez commencer à utiliser le tire-lait SANS avoir réalisé le
MODE CONFIGURATION. Enlever le couvercle en plastique avant d'utiliser.

• Chaque fois qu'on appuie sur un bouton, le tire-lait
émettra un bip.
• Toucher l'icône Haut-parleur située dans le coin su
périeur droit de l'écran pour désactiver le son. Toucher
l'icône une fois de plus pour réactiver le son.
• Si le son est désactivé, l'écran clignotera lorsqu'on ap
puie sur un bouton.
1. Appuyer sur l'onglet Tire-lait
pour commencer le tirage.

Appuyer sur le bouton DÉMARRER et la minuterie démarre.
REMARQUE : Le tire-lait se met toujours en marche au
réglage 1 pour la succion et la vitesse.
3. Régler la succion et la vitesse pendant le tirage en
utilisant les èches haut et bas.
REMARQUE:
Niveaux de succion = 1-8 Niveaux de vitesse = 1-3
REMARQUE : Si l'on appuie sur l'onglet VOLUME DE LAIT
pendant le tirage, le message suivant s'ache.
Vous pouvez entrer le VOLUME DE LAIT après le tirage.

Mode VOLUME DE LAIT
1. Sélectionner l'onglet Volume de lait.
2. Entrer la quantité de lait tiré une fois le tirage terminé.
3. Entrer le volume de lait exprimé du sein gauche et du sein droit en appuyant sur les èches haut/bas.
4. Les numéro du tirage, mois, jour, heure, volume de lait (G et D), succion, vitesse et durée du tirage
seront automatiquement enregistrés sous Séance n° 1 de l'onglet HISTORIQUE.
5. Pousser le bouton d'alimentation pour éteindre l'appareil.
REMARQUE : L'appareil s'arrêtera automatiquement après 3 minutes lorsque le tire-lait n'est pas
activé (moteur à l'arrêt et aucune activité sur l'écran tactile).
5. Appuyer sur l'onglet HISTORIQUE et l'écran
HISTORIQUE achera : la date, l'heure, la suc
cion, la vitesse et la durée du tirage.

Pour commencer à tirer le lait : Toujours se laver les mains avant le tirage
1. Après avoir enregistré plus d'un tirage, appuyer sur l'onglet
HISTORIQUE.
2. La touche de la èche droite permet de voir les tirages précé
dents, n° 2 à n° 10.
REMARQUE : Le dernier tirage enregistré est TOUJOURS n° 1.
3. La touche de la èche gauche permet de faire déler du n° 10
au n° 1.
Remarque : Votre mamelon
doit être centré et ne pas
toucher les côtés de la
coquille, comme illustré. Un
mauvais positionnement
peut entraîner irritation et
douleur.
1. Installer la pile et charger le tire-lait pendant 2,5 heures. Se re
porter à la section « Installer la pile et charger le tire-lait ».
2. Lorsque le tire-lait est complètement chargé et assemblé (se
reporter à la section « Assemblage »), il est prêt à fonctionner.
3. Pour que le lait commence à s’écouler, en exprimer quelques
gouttes à la main.
4a. Pour tirer le lait sans la poignée : s'asseoir bien droite. Saisir le
biberon par l'adaptateur à 3 positions et insérer le sein dans la co
quille Flexi-FitMD. Chaque sein doit complètement remplir la
coquille. Noter la position du mamelon sur l'illustration.
Interrompre le tirage:
• Lorsque le tirage a commencé et que l'on appuie sur STOP, le tirage
s'interrompra pendant 3 minutes.
• Si l'on reprend le tirage avant la n des 3 minutes, celui-ci continuera
comme s'il n'avait pas été interrompu.
• Si l'on ne reprend pas le tirage à la n des 3 minutes, le tirage incom
plet sera automatiquement enregistré comme n° 1 dans l'historique.
Données enregistrées:
• L'historique et les données de conguration restent enregistrés pendant 3 jours une fois la pile en-
tièrement déchargée.
Eectuer un tirage et voir l'historique en même temps:
• Pendant un tirage, on peut sélectionner l'onglet HISTORIQUE et faire déler les tirages précédents.
