Connecting the Hardware
Turn on the modem, and
then wait 2 minutes for
it to restart.
Connect the modem to the
Internet port on your Archer C8
with an Ethernet cable.
Verify that the hardware
connection is correct by
checking these LEDs.
Note: If the 2.4/5G LED is not on, please
verify that the wireless switch on the side
panel of the Archer C8 is on.
If your Internet connection is through an Ethernet cable from the wall
instead of through a DSL / Cable / Satellite modem, connect the Ethernet
cable directly to the Archer C8’s Internet port.

Use the default network name (SSID) and password printed on the product label on the rear panel
of the Archer C8 to connect wirelessly.
Enter ‘http://tplinklogin.net in the address bar. Use ‘admin for both user name
and password, and then click on ‘Login.
Note: If the login window does not appear, please refer to FAQ->Q1.
Select your region and time zone, and click ‘Next to continue.
Connecting your computer to the Archer C8 (Wired or
Wireless)
Use the USB port for media sharing, storage sharing and printer sharing across your local
network. You can also setup an FTP server to access your les remotely through the Internet.
Conguring the Archer C8 with a web browser
Click ‘Next’ to continue.
Conrm your settings, and then click ‘Save to continue or ‘Back to change them.
Finish the conguration.
Select your Connection Type and if you are unsure what your connection
type is, select Auto-Detect’. Click ‘Next’ and follow the instruction to continue.
Note: The Quick Setup wizard will bypass Step C and go to Step D, if an Internet connection is already
established.
Note: You may rename your 2.4GHz/5GHz wireless network name and create your own password. if you do, the
wireless connection will disconnect automatically, and you must then sign in with the new names/passwords to
regain access to the Internet.
Q1. What can I do if the login window dose not appear?
A1. If the computer is set to a static or xed IP address, change the setting to obtain an IP
address automatically.
A2. Verify that http://tplinklogin.net is correctly entered in the web browser. Alternatively,
enter ‘http://192.168.0.1’ in the web browser and press ‘Enter.
A3. Use another web browser and try again.
A4. Reboot your Archer C8 and try again.
A5. Disable then re-enable the network adapter being used.
Q2. What can I do if I cannot access the Internet?
A1. Check if the Internet is working properly by connecting a computer directly to the
modem through Ethernet. If it is not, contact your Internet Service Provider.
A2. Open a web browser, enter ‘http://tplinklogin.net’ and try to set up again.
A3. Reboot your Archer C8 and try again.
A4. For cable modem users, reboot the modem rst. If the problem still exists, log in to the
Web Management page of the Archer C8, and go to Advanced’ -> ‘Network -> ‘MAC Clone ,
click on ‘Clone MAC Address’ then click on ‘Save.
Q3. How do I restore the Archer C8 to its factory default settings?
A1. With the Archer C8 in the ‘Power On mode, press and hold down the ‘Reset/WPS’ button
on the rear panel of the Archer C8 for approximately 8 seconds.
A2. Log in to the Web Management page of the Archer C8, and go to Advanced’ -> ‘System
tools’->’Factory Defaults, click ‘Restore, then wait until the loading progress bar nishes.
Q4. What can I do if I forget my password?
Web Management page password:
A. Restore the Archer C8 to its factory default settings and then use the default User Name
’admin and Password ’admin to log in.
Wireless Network password:
A1. The default password is printed on the product label on the rear panel of the Archer C8.
A2. If you have changed your wireless password, log in to the Archer C8’s Web Management
page, go to ‘Basic’->’Wireless to obtain or reset your password.
