Data Connection Status and Indicators
Your phone’s display lets you know the current status of
your data connection through indicators which are displayed
at the top of the screen. The following symbols are used:
This icon represents your Sprint Power Vision (EVDO)
data connection and coverage. A black icon indicates an
active connection (data is being transferred); the
triangles will blink gray, black, and white to indicate
data transmission. Incoming voice calls go directly to
voicemail; outgoing voice calls can be made, but the
Sprint Power Vision connection will terminate.
A gray icon (shown) indicates that Sprint Power Vision
service is dormant. (No data is being sent or received.)
A red icon indicates that you are in a Sprint Power
Vision coverage area, but that you do not have a
current data connection.
This icon represents your Sprint Vision (3G) data
connection and coverage. The green icon indicates an
active connection (data is being transferred); the
transmit/receive symbol will blink to indicate data
transmission. Incoming voice calls go directly to
voicemail; outgoing voice calls can be made, but the
data connection will terminate.
A gray icon indicates that a Sprint Vision connection is
dormant. (No data is being sent or received.) Though
not currently active, when dormant the phone can
restart an active connection quickly; voice calls can be
made and received.
If no indicator is displayed, your phone does not have a
current data connection. To launch a connection, see
“Launching a Data Connection” on page 6.
