- Place the automatic baking oven on a level, heat-resistant
surface. If the surface is sensitive to heat, put a heat-resistant
plate underneath the automatic baking oven.
Risk of burns! The temperature of the contactable surfaces
can get very hot during operation. Furthermore, hot steam
escapes from the ventilation slots during operation. Hot
steam can also escape when opening the automatic baking
oven. Use the supplied tongs (11) to remove the cooking
grate (12) or baking sheet (10). Do not touch the inside of

9 Maintenance/Cleaning
9.1 Maintenance
Maintenance work is required if the automatic baking oven has
been damaged, liquids or objects have gotten inside the device,
the automatic baking oven has been exposed to rain or
moisture, or if the automatic baking oven is not functioning
properly or has been dropped. If you notice any smoke,
unusual noises, or smells, switch off the automatic baking oven
immediately and remove the plug from the socket. In such cases
you must stop using the automatic baking oven until it has been
checked by a specialist. All maintenance work should only be
carried out by qualified specialists. Never open the housing of
the automatic baking oven.
9.2 Cleaning
- Remove the plug from the socket before cleaning. There
is a risk of electric shock!
- The automatic baking oven itself may not be immersed in
water; there is a risk of electric shock!
- Do not use oven cleaner to clean the cooking chamber
(1) since this can cause residue on the heating elements
that cannot be removed.
Wait until the automatic baking oven has cooled down.
Otherwise there is a risk of burns!
SilverCrest SGB 1200 C1
18 -
Remove the crumb tray (14), baking sheet (10), and cooking grate for cleaning. First remove most
of the food residue and empty the crumb tray (14). The tongs (11), crumb tray (14), baking sheet
(10), and cooking grate (12) may then be cleaned in a basin of warm water with dish washing
detergent. Rinse the components with clear water and dry them thoroughly. Do not use a wire brush
or other scouring implements, because scratching the coating must be prevented.
The parts are not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher!
Use a slightly damp cloth with a little dish washing detergent to clean the inner and outer surfaces
of the automatic baking oven and never use cleaning agents or solvents that react with metals or
plastics. Wipe again with clear water and then dry everything thoroughly again.
10 Storing the Device When Not in Use
Disconnect the plug from the socket when you are not using the automatic baking oven. Turn the
operating mode switch (5) and timer (7) to the ‘OFF’ position. Set the thermostat (3) to ‘150 °F.’
Wind up the power cable (13) with the cable rewind on the back of the device as shown in the
following illustration. Use the retaining clip to secure the power cable (13). Make sure that the
cleaned automatic baking oven is stored in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
11 Troubleshooting
The automatic baking oven is not working.
Check whether the plug is plugged into the socket correctly.
Check the position of the thermostat (3) and, if required, set the thermostat (3) to a higher
temperature.
Check the position of the timer (7) and, if required, set the timer (7) to a time or set the timer (7)
to ‘ON.’
Check the position of the operating mode switch (5) and, if required, set it to ‘Top Heat,’
‘Bottom Heat,’ or ‘Top/Bottom Heat.’
