By purchasing the SilverCrest mini oven SGB 1200 C1, hereinafter referred to as mini oven, you
have opted for a high-quality, durable product.
These operating instructions contain important information on the safe use of the mini oven, as well
as instructions and information on its daily use and disposal. Read these operating instructions
thoroughly before using the mini oven and use it only for the purposes described in the applicable
range of applications. If you sell or pass on the mini oven to someone else, be sure to always
include these operating instructions. They are an integral part of the product.
1. Intended use
This mini oven is used for grilling, cooking and baking food such as meat, fish, side dishes and
cakes. The mini oven is not designed for commercial use or operation in a company. This mini oven
may only be used for private purposes as any other use is not as intended. Furthermore, the mini
oven may not be used outdoors or in tropical climates. This mini oven meets all relevant norms and
standards in conjunction with CE conformity. In the event of any modification to the mini oven that
was not approved by the manufacturer, compliance with these standards is no longer guaranteed.
The manufacturer does not accept any liability for any resulting damage or faults in such cases.
Please observe the regulations and laws in the respective country of use.

4. Safety instructions
Before using this mini oven for the first time, read the following
instructions carefully and pay attention to all warnings, even if
you are familiar with handling electronic devices. Store these
operating instructions in a safe place for future reference. If you
sell the mini oven or pass it on, always include these
instructions. They are an integral part of the device.

Operating environment
The mini oven is suitable for operation only in dry
indoor locations.
This mini oven is not designed for use in environments
with a high temperature or humidity (e.g. bathrooms)
or in extremely dusty conditions.
DANGER! There is a risk of burns! Do not touch the
glass door because it can become very hot during
operation.
DANGER! The mini oven is not intended to be operated
with an external time switch or a separate remote control
system. It poses a fire hazard!
DANGER! This mini oven can be used by children aged 8
and older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they

are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the
device and understand the resulting risks. Children must not
play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance should
not be carried out by children, unless they are older than 8
years of age and are supervised. Always keep plastic
packaging away from children. It poses a suffocation risk.
Children who are younger than 8 years of age must be kept
away from the device and its mains cable (13).
DANGER! If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual
sounds or smells, switch off the mini oven immediately and
remove the mains plug from the mains socket. In such cases,
the mini oven should not be used until it has been inspected
by authorised service personnel. Never inhale smoke from a
potential device fire. If you have inhaled smoke, however,
consult a doctor. The inhalation of smoke can be harmful.
DANGER! Never touch the mains cable (13) and the mini
oven with wet hands because there is a risk of an electric
shock!
DANGER! The mini oven must not be covered to avoid
overheating. It poses a fire hazard!
DANGER! Always place the mini oven on a flat, heat-
resistant surface and not in the vicinity of heat sources and
flammable materials, liquids or gases. Leave at least 15 cm
clearance from walls because there is a risk of fire
otherwise!
DANGER! The mini oven must not become damaged in
order to prevent hazards.

DANGER! Ensure that no fire sources (e.g. burning
candles) are placed on or near the mini oven. It poses a fire
hazard!
DANGER! The device does not need to be supervised
continuously during operation, but only needs to be checked
regularly.

operating. Hot steam continues to escape from the
ventilation slots during operation. Hot steam may also

cooking tongs (11) to remove the grill rack (12) or baking
tray (10). Do not touch the inside of the mini oven when
removing the food. Use pot holders or oven gloves to
prevent burns. There is a risk of injury.
WARNING! The mini oven must never be exposed to any
direct heat sources (for example, heaters) or direct sunlight

or bright artificial light. Also avoid contact with dripping
water and splashes and corrosive liquids. Do not use the
mini oven near water. In particular, the mini oven should
never be submerged in liquid (do not place any items filled
with liquid, e.g. vases or drinks, on the mini oven). Also
ensure that the mini oven is never subjected to excessive
shocks and vibrations. Furthermore, no foreign objects may
penetrate the device. Otherwise, the mini oven could be
damaged.
WARNING! Do not place any objects on the door (8) and
do not lean on it. The door (8) is not designed to bear
weight. Otherwise, the mini oven could be damaged.
Mains cable
DANGER! Always handle the mains cable (13) by the
mains plug and do not pull on the cable (13) itself.
DANGER! Make sure that the mains cable (13) does not
touch any hot surfaces of the mini oven.
DANGER! Do not use adapter plugs or extension cables
that do not comply with applicable safety standards, and do
not make any alterations to the mains cable (13)! If the
mains cable (13) is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its customer service representative or a
similarly qualified person to prevent any safety hazards.

WARNING! Do not place the mini oven, furniture or other
heavy objects on the mains cable (13) and ensure that it is
not kinked.
WARNING! Never tie a knot in the mains cable (13) and
do not tie cables together. Ensure that the mains cable (13)
is placed so that no one can trip over it and it does not
cause an obstruction.
WARNING! The baking tray (10) must not be used for the
cooking or storage of salty, acidic or alkaline food.

6. Prior to use
Remove the mini oven from the packaging. Remove all packaging material and check that all parts
are complete and undamaged. In the event of an incomplete or damaged delivery, please contact
the manufacturer.
7. Control elements
Thermostat (3)
Set the thermostat (3) to the desired temperature (max.
230°C).
Operating mode selector switch (5)
You can use the operating mode selector switch (5) to set the
following functions:
OFF Heating element switched off
Bottom heat (e.g. for baking cakes)
Top heat (e.g. for gratinating)
Top/bottom heat (e.g. for cooking pizza)
Timer (7)
Set the timer (7) to the desired time (max. 60 minutes). After the
set time has elapsed, a beep sounds and the mini oven
switches itself off. Manually turn the timer (7) to the "OFF"
position to switch off the mini oven before the set time has
elapsed.
Turn the timer (7) anti-clockwise to "ON" to use the mini oven in
continuous operating mode. The mini oven does not
automatically switch itself off with this function. The timer (7)
must be turned to the "OFF" position to switch off the mini oven.

8. Start-up
DANGER! Place the mini oven on a flat, heat-resistant surface. If the surface is sensitive, place
a heat-resistant board under the mini oven.
DANGER! There is a risk of burns! The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very
high when the device is operating. Hot steam continues to escape from the ventilation slots
during operation. Hot steam may also escape when you open the mini oven. Use the supplied
cooking tongs (11) to remove the grill rack (12) or baking tray (10). Do not touch the inside
of the mini oven when removing the food. Use pot holders or oven gloves to prevent burns.
There is a risk of injury.
8.1. Initial start-up
Remove the crumb tray (14), baking tray (10) and grill rack (12) if they are inserted in the mini
oven.
Leave the door (8) of the mini oven open when using if for the first time.
Insert the mains plug into a socket that is always easily accessible.
Set the thermostat (3) to "230°C" (highest level). The temperature control light (4) lights up as
soon as the set temperature is reached. If the set temperature drops again, the temperature
control light (4) goes out.
Set the operating mode selector switch (5) to "Top/bottom heat".
Set the timer (7) to "15 min".
The indicator light (6) lights up during operation. The device may briefly emit an odour or light
smoke when it is used for the first time. This is normal and completely harmless. Ensure that
there is sufficient ventilation by opening a window.
The mini oven switches itself off after the set time has elapsed.
Then remove the mains plug from the socket.
Clean the mini oven as described in the section "Cleaning".
8.2. Using the mini oven
To cook food in the mini oven, proceed as follows:
Set the thermostat (3) to the "70°C" position.
Turn the operating mode selector switch (5) and the timer (7) to the "OFF" position.
Insert the crumb tray (14) into the bottom of the mini oven if you have not already done so.
Slide the baking tray (10) or the grill rack (12) into the desired rack level (2).
If you would like to cook greasy food on the grill rack (12), you can use the baking tray (10)
on a lower rack level (2) to collect the grease.

Place the food on the baking tray (10) or the grill rack (12). If necessary, line the baking
tray (10) with baking paper or grease it.
Preheat the mini oven if necessary at the desired temperature for approx. 10 minutes. The
temperature control light (4) lights up as soon as the set temperature is reached. If the set
temperature drops again, the temperature control light (4) goes out.
Close the door (8) of the mini oven.
Insert the mains plug into a socket that is always easily accessible.
Set the thermostat (3) to the desired temperature.
Set the operating mode selector switch (5) to the desired function (bottom heat, top heat or
top/bottom heat).
Set the timer (7) to the desired time. For continuous operating mode, turn the timer (7) anti-
clockwise to "ON".
The mini oven then switches itself on. The indicator light (6) lights up during operation. The
temperature control light (4) lights up as soon as the set temperature is reached. If the set
temperature drops again, the temperature control light (4) goes out.
The mini oven switches itself off automatically upon expiry of the time indicated by the timer (7).
A beep sounds once the timer (7) has reached the "OFF" position. You can also manually turn
the timer (7) back to the "OFF" position to switch off the mini oven ahead of time. If you have
set the timer (7) to "ON", you must manually switch off the mini oven. To do so, set the timer (7)
to the "OFF" position.
Then open the door (8) of the mini oven. In doing so, only touch the handle (9) of the door.
DANGER! There is a risk of burns! Do not directly touch the door (8), the housing, the content
or the inside of the cooking chamber (1).
Now remove the food. If you want to remove the grill rack (12) or the baking tray (10), use the
supplied cooking tongs (11) for this purpose. Use pot holders or oven gloves also.
After using the mini oven, turn the thermostat (3) back to the "70°C" position and remove the
mains plug from the socket.
Turn the operating mode selector switch (5) and the timer (7) to the "OFF" position.
Clean the mini oven as described in the section "Cleaning".

9. Maintenance / cleaning
9.1. Maintenance
WARNING! Servicing is necessary if the mini oven has been damaged or if liquids or
objects have penetrated the housing, if the mini oven has been exposed to rain or moisture or
if it does not work properly or has been dropped. If smoke is produced, or there are any
unusual sounds or smells, switch off the mini oven immediately and remove the mains plug
from the mains socket. In such cases, the mini oven should not be used until it has been
inspected by authorised service personnel. Only have qualified personnel carry out the
servicing on the device. Never open the housing of the mini oven.
9.2. Cleaning
DANGER! Remove the mains plug from the socket before cleaning as there is a risk of an
electric shock!
DANGER! Wait until the mini oven has cooled down completely. Otherwise, there is a risk of
burns!
DANGER! The mini oven must not be immersed in water as there is a risk of an electric shock!
WARNING! Do not use oven spray to clean the cooking chamber (1) since this can result in
non-removable residue on the heating elements.
Remove the crumb tray (14), baking tray (10) and grill rack (12) to clean the mini oven. First,
remove large remaining food particles and empty the crumb tray (14). The cooking tongs (11), the
crumb tray (14), the baking tray (10) and the grill rack (12) can then be cleaned in a basin of
warm water and washing-up liquid. Rinse the parts with clear water afterwards and dry them
completely. Never use a wire brush or other abrasive objects because the coating must not be
scratched.
The parts are not suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher!
Use a slightly damp cloth with some washing-up liquid, if necessary, to clean the inner and outer
surfaces of the mini oven and the glass door, and never use any solvent or cleaner that would
corrode the metals or plastic materials. Wipe with clear water and then dry everything thoroughly.

10. Storage when not in use
If you do not want to use the mini oven, remove the mains plug from the socket. Turn the operating
mode selector switch (5) and the timer (7) to the "OFF" position. Set the thermostat (3) to the
"70°C" position. Wrap the mains cable (13) on the cable rewind at the back of the device as
shown in the following illustration. Use the retaining clip (arrow) to fix the mains cable (13). Ensure
that the clean mini oven and the accessories are kept in a clean, dry location without direct sunlight.
11. Troubleshooting
The mini oven is not working.
Check whether the mains plug is inserted correctly into the socket.
Check the position of the thermostat (3) and turn the thermostat (3) up to a higher temperature
if necessary.
Check the position of the timer (7) and set a time if necessary on the timer (7) or set the timer
(7) to "ON".
Check the position of the operating mode selector switch (5) and, if necessary, set it to "bottom
heat", "top heat" or "top / bottom heat".
The cooking time of the food is very long.
The temperature may be set too low. Check the position of the thermostat (3) and turn the
thermostat (3) up to a higher temperature if necessary.
The door (8) may not have been closed properly. Close the door (8) completely.
The door (8) may have been opened frequently. Open the door (8) only to check the cooking
process and not more frequently than necessary.
The mini oven is not really becoming hot.
Please note that the mini oven must preheat for approximately 10 minutes before the desired
temperature is reached and the food can be inserted.

12. Environmental and disposal information
When this symbol appears on a product, this indicates that the product is subject to
the European Directive 2012/19/EU. All electrical and electronic devices must be
disposed of separately from household waste at designated disposal points.
Disposal of old devices in this manner will prevent harm to the environment and
human health hazards. For further information regarding disposal of old devices in
accordance with the directive, contact your local authorities, waste disposal office
or the shop where you bought the device.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally compatible manner. Cardboard
can be put out for municipal paper collections or brought to public collection
points for recycling. Films and plastic used for packaging the device are collected

manner.

15. Recipes
Salmon and spinach lasagne
Ingredients:
250g creamed spinach (frozen)
125g wild salmon fillet (frozen)
4 lasagne sheets
100g crème fraîche
50g grated cheese
Oil for greasing
Salt
Pepper
Nutmeg
Preparation
Put spinach into a saucepan and let it defrost at low heat. Season to taste with salt, pepper and
nutmeg. Let the salmon thaw slightly, and then cut it into pieces. Grease an approx. 0.8 litre
rectangular oven dish and cover the bottom of the dish with lasagne sheets. Then spread half of the
salmon and spinach on them, cover again with lasagne sheets, and then spread the rest of the
spinach and salmon on top of them until the dish is almost full. The final layer is a lasagne sheet on
which the crème fraîche is then spread. Sprinkle cheese over the lasagne and bake it at the middle
rack level (2) for approx. 50 minutes in the oven that was preheated for 10 minutes at 180°C
top/bottom heat.
Lemon muffins
Ingredients for 6 muffins:
80g sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla sugar
1 egg (M)
50ml sunflower oil
100ml milk
Juice and rind ½ untreated lemon
160g flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 pinch of salt
Preparation
Preheat the mini oven for 10 minutes at 200°C top/bottom heat. Mix the sugar and vanilla sugar
with the oil and whisk together with the egg. Add the milk, lemon juice and rind to the mixture and
stir again. Mix flour, baking powder and salt and stir thoroughly with the other ingredients. Fill 6
muffin moulds up to 2/3 with dough, and bake on the baking tray (10) at the middle rack level (2)
for approx. 25 minutes. Allow the muffins to cool on a rack.

Tarte flambée toast
Ingredients for 2 people:
4 slices bread
For the topping:
1/2 onion
70g smoked ham (Katenschinken)
120g crème fraîche
100g grated cheese
Pepper
Chives in rolls
Preparation
Chop the onion finely and mix together all ingredients, apart from 50g of cheese for the topping,
and spread the mixture on the slices of bread.
Preheat the mini oven for 10 minutes at 200°C top/bottom heat.
Sprinkle 50g of cheese over the slices and bake it at the middle rack level (2) for 15-20 minutes
depending on the desired browning level. Serve sprinkled with chive rolls.
Gratinated party rolls
Ingredients for 2 people:
150g minced meat (half beef and half pork)
30g red pesto
Chopped thyme
Chopped oregano
1 tsp. chopped hazelnuts
Salt and pepper
Paprika powder
40g grated cheese
2 rolls (pre-baked rolls from the supermarket are suitable)
Preparation
Preheat the mini oven for 10 minutes at 190°C top/bottom heat.
Cut the rolls and place them on a baking tray (10) lined with baking paper.
Season the minced meat with salt, pepper, thyme, oregano and paprika powder and mix it with the
hazelnuts and pesto. Cover the rolls evenly with the minced meat preparation and spread cheese
on them, and now bake them at the middle rack level (2) for approx. 20 minutes.

Pizza
Ingredients for 2 people:
200g pizza dough (½ package of refrigerated pizza dough)
For the sauce (if none is enclosed with the pizza dough):
6 tbsp. puréed tomato
3 tbsp. tomato paste
2 tsp. oregano
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of sugar
1 pinch of chilli (to taste)
Pepper from a pepper mill
For the topping:
150g grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
6 leaves basil
Olive oil
As desired: tuna, ham, mushrooms, salami, pineapple, etc.
Preparation
Cut the pizza dough to suit the mini oven, for example, cut out round mini pizzas or cut out a
rectangular pizza suited to the baking tray (10).
Cover as desired with the tomato sauce and topping, and finally sprinkle with cheese.
Place the pizza on the grill rack (12) lined with baking paper and, in the mini oven preheated at
230°C top/bottom heat for 10 minutes, bake the pizza at the middle rack level (2) for approx. 20
minutes until the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted. Garnish with basil.

Ingredients for approx. 30 biscuits:
50g ground almonds (blanched)
140g flour (plus some flour for kneading/rolling out pastry)
