Checking before use
Always turn on the auxiliary power switch before
turning on the air conditioner.
If the auxiliary power switch is turned o, the air
conditioner is not turned on even after pressing the
[운전/정지]
(Power) button.
Checking auxiliary power switch
Precautions before operating
Apply power 6 hours before test run to heat the compressor heater.
When operating the product again after turning the main power o, start the operation 150 minutes after applying the
power.
If the heater is not warmed up, the air conditioner will not start for 150 minutes after applying the power to protect the
compressor. (At this time, the display of the PCB in the outdoor unit shows Ch.)
The refrigerant gas for the air conditioner is a non-toxic, non-ammable safe gas. If, however, the outdoor unit is installed
in a hermetically-closed small space, excessive refrigerant gas may leak, so a separate safeguard (ventilation equipment) is
required.
For a system for both heating and cooling, the hybrid operation of an indoor unit connected to an outdoor unit is not allowed.
Hybrid operation indicates that, among multiple indoor units connected to an outdoor unit, some perform cooling operation and the other
performs heating operation.
Auxiliary power switch
Since the auxiliary power switch (MCCB & ELB)
is not provided with the product, purchase it
separately.
Install the auxiliary power switch (MCCB & ELB)
in the distribution box of a building and turn o
the switch when cleaning or when not using for a
long time.
If you use your air conditioner again after a long
time of no use, turn on the auxiliary power switch
6 hours before starting its operation.
(For protection of compressor.)
When using the indoor unit
When operating in Cool mode, adjust the desired
temperature properly.
If you set the desired temperature too low, it is hazard
to human and power consumption will increase. It is
recommended to set the desired temperature 5˚C lower
than outdoor temperature.
When operating in Heat mode, use additional heating
apparatus with the air conditioner to save energy.
Heating performance may decrease when indoor/
outdoor temperature decreases. In this case, use
additional heating apparatus.
Install the indoor unit where there is no direct sunlight or
heating apparatus.
If the sun shines on the indoor unit, draw the curtains.
Do not use heating apparatus when cooling operation.
Cooling performance may decrease.
When operating in Cool mode, use electric fan with the
air conditioner to save energy.
If you use electric fan with the air conditioner, you can
expect more eective cooling and also save energy.
Close doors or windows when operating the air
conditioner.
Cooling performance may decrease when you operate
the air conditioner with doors or windows open.
If you use air conditioner for a long time, ventilate the
room once in an hour for the fresh air.
Maintaining the indoor unit
Clean the indoor unit and dry inside of the unit by
operating Fan mode for 3~4 hours.
Stop the operation and turn the auxiliary power switch.
Do not move the product. It may cause refrigerant
gas leakage by loosening the piping connection
part or damage of the piping.
When using the outdoor unit
Take away if there are covers or barriers.
It may cause product failure, and poor performance in
cooling(heating) by blocking air circulation.
When installing the outdoor unit
Install the outdoor unit where there is airy and shady
place. If there is direct sunlight, please install sunshade.
6
Operation ranges
Water-cooled operation temperature
The table below indicates the temperature and humidity ranges the air conditioner can be operated within.
Refer to the table for ecient use.
Cooling for an extended period of time under highly humid conditions may form dewdrops on the air conditioner.
When the air conditioner is mainly used for heating in winter, a separate load calculation is required. For operation at low
temperature, purchase a product for low temperatures that has excellent heating eect. (Contact our Service Center.)
Its rated heating capability is based on C. If the outdoor temperature falls belowC, the capability may deteriorate
depending on temperature conditions.

Cleaning and maintaining
Cleaning the indoor unit
Wet a soft cloth with warm water, squeeze the cloth and then wipe the air
conditioner.
For dust accumulated in narrow openings of the air conditioner, use a soft brush.
Dust on the heat exchanger may reduce the cooling (heating) eect.
Clean it periodically.
Remove the dust by spraying water.

Hang curtains on windows to boost cooling eciency.
When a window or door is opened, the cooling (heating) eect is reduced.
Close the window or door, if any.
Check if the air conditioner has just been turned on. Cool air does not come out immediately to
protect the compressor of the outdoor unit. Wait for 3 minutes. It is not a sign of a malfunction.
In Heating mode, Warm air does not come out just after starting the mode to prevent cool air
from coming out. Wait for a while. It is not a sign of a malfunction.
Check if the refrigerant pipe is too long. Too long a pipe may reduce the cooling (heating) eect.
The fan speed does
not change.
Check if you selected Auto or Dry mode. The air conditioner automatically adjusts the fan speed
to Auto in the Auto/Dry mode.
The air ow blade
does not move.
In Heating mode, the air ow blade is xed upward in summer o, de-ice section, oil balancing
