Chip pan fires
The two main causes or fryer fires are the oil overheats and
catches fire spontaneously. or the oil spills over because
either it has been filled past the MAX mark or the food inside
is wet causing the oil to bubble up and overflow.
If your deep fat fryer should catch fire:
Raise the alarm to make sure that everyone in the
household is aware of the fire. Call the Fire Brigade.
Turn off the heat source to the pan, if it is safe to do so!
Do not reach over the pan to get at the controls.
Do not attempt to move the pan.
Never put water anywhere near the fire! - the
consequences could be disastrous.
This type of fire is extinguished by placing a cover over the
pan. This could be the lid, a fire blanket or a damp (not wet)
tea towel. CONSIDER YOUR OWN SAFETY FIRST!

Ensure the control switch is set to the Off position. Insert
the plug into a standard mains socket (230V-240V) and
switch the power on.
Move the control switch to the desired setting. Both the
power indicator lamp (5) and the green ready lamp (6)
will light up.
When the temperature that has been set is reached
the control lamp (6) goes off.
Open the lid and suspend the deep frying basket
containing the food to be fried carefully into the
recess. Ensure that the handle (11) is locked in place
facing upwards and the basket is therefore located
above the hot oil.
Close the lid. Now lower the deep frying basket into
the hot oil by pulling back the button (4) on the handle.
Safety: Never leave the unit unattended while cooking!
The viewing window in the lid will allow you to see
the progress your food is making without having to
open the lid. It is normal for steam to cloud the
window for a short time at the start of the frying
process but this will gradually disappear.
NOTE: During frying you may hear slight clicking noises
and you may see the ready light (6) going on and off
several times. This indicates that the temperature is being
maintained and is quite normal. Hot steam may also
escape through the filter in the top of the lid. This is also a
normal occurrence.

maintenance
Information on how to keep your fryer in the best working order.
Filtering and changing the oil
Make sure that the fryer is cooled down and unplugged.
On average, oil can be used 8 to 12 separate times
before it will need to be changed. If you are frying fish or
battered foods then you will need to change the oil more
often. Filter the oil to get rid of any food that has fallen
through the basket and into the fat.
Cleaning
Clean your fryer throughly after every use once your
fryer has cooled down. See stage 2 in "How to use your
deep fat fryer for further details".
Storing the oil
Store the oil in the air tight container at room temperature
away from heat and light sources.
Changing the filter
Note: The filter are located under the steam vents.
The filter is located under the rim of the steam vents on
the underside of the lid.
The life of the filter depends on the type of food fried. On
average you should replace the filter after about 15
separate uses. Always make sure that the plastic grill which
covers the filter is clipped back into position on the lid
properly after you have changed a filter.
Never use the fryer without a filter fitted.
