2 Inserting or changing the
Braun «energy cell»
The appliance comes with two handle
sizes:
The short handle accommodates the
small energy cell (a). The large energy cell
(b) fits into the long handle.
The energy supply must be switched off
(switch (A) at position «0»).
Press the release button (F) and pull off
the handle (G).
Insert a Braun energy cell into the
handle as shown (arrow pointing
outward). Push the handle with the
energy cell back onto the appliance until
it snaps into place.
The long handle is provided with an
energy level indicator (H) that shows when
the filling level of the energy cell is 50 %
and below.
Only use Braun energy cells. These are
available from the store where this appli-
ance was purchased, as well as from
authorised Braun Service Agents. The
energy cells can be taken out or changed
at any time, even if they are only partly
filled.
3 Filling the water reservoir
for the steam function
a) Pull the transparent water reservoir (D)
off the appliance as shown.
b) Remove the long plug by turning it as
indicated.
c) Fill the reservoir with water (tap water
only).
d) Replace the plug.
e) Re-insert the water reservoir until it
snaps into place.
f) A full water reservoir will last for
approx. 50 steam shots.
4 Switching on
a) To start the energy supply shift switch
(A) up to position «1». Wait 3 to 4
seconds.
Shift switch (A) further up to the «start»
position until you can clearly hear a
click.
b) Let the switch slide back to position
«1».
c) The ignition indicator (C) illuminates
to show that the appliance has ignited
and is heating up. In the unlikely case
that it does not heat up, make sure that
switch (A) is on position «1» and push it
up to «start» again.
d) After approximately 2 – 3 minutes,
the ready indicator dot (B) turns dark
changes colour to indicate that the
appliance has heated up and is ready
for use.
5 Steaming
To add steam to a section of hair, press
down the top of the water reservoir for
approx. 2 to 3 seconds (you will feel a
click). Steam will be released from the
openings of the tong, giving the hair just
the required amount of natural moisture
for a more gentle styling and longer-
lasting styles.
After use
Switch off the appliance by shifting
switch (A) back to position «0».
After use, always empty the water
reservoir (D). Otherwise drops of water
may get into the appliance and affect the
heat up process for some time. After the
water has dried out the appliance will
work normally again.
Cleaning
Make sure the appliance is switched off
and cold. Never immerse the appliance
in water.
The tong and the handle can be cleaned
with a soft damp cloth. The styling
brushes and the protective cover can
be cleaned in warm, soapy water.
Storage
After use or cleaning, always place the
heat-resistant protective cover (I) on the
appliance. It ensures that the appliance is
not switched on unintentionally.
When traveling by air, please note that no
more than one appliance may be carried
by each crew member or passenger
aboard an aircraft in checked luggage, if
the protective cover is secured over the
heating element. Separate gas refills are
not permitted.
Subject to change without notice.
