Protect the keyboard from moisture, dust and heat.
Place the keyboard on a non-slip surface.
The keyboard may be repaired by authorized qualified personnel
only. Unauthorized opening of the device or inexpertly carried-out re-
pairs may seriously jeopardize the safety of the user and cancels all
warranty and liability agreements.

Scope of supply
The product includes one TA64 keyboard with a non-removable connecting
cable, one User Guide and one set of keys.
The set of keys contains:
Key 1 for key position 1
Key 2 for key positions 1 and 2
Key 3 for key positions 1, 2 and 3
Key 4 for key positions 1, 2, 3 and 4
The following items can be ordered optionally:

The TA64 keyboard
General
General
The TA64 POS keyboard can be used wherever keyboards are exposed
to difficult environmental conditions such as liquids, grease, dust, etc. It is
therefore e.g. well suited to the catering sectore.
The keyboard can be connected to all BEETLE models via the standard
keyboard interface.In addition to the central keylock, a waiter keylock is op-
tionally available.A further option is the integrated swipecard reader.

Keypad
The keypad on the TA64 comprises 125 keys, 112 of which are freely
programmable.The transparent keyboard cover which you can lift allows
you to use exchangeable keyboard templates.These keyboard templates
can be labelled to meet customer-specific requirements.

Waiter keylock
A WKL (waiter keylock) is optionally available and is connected at the right
side of the keyboard.

Central keylock
Centralkeylock
The central keylock has a total of 6 switch positions.
Switch position 0 is
the basic position;
switch positions 1-4
are provided for cu-
stomer-specific appli-
cations. In positions
0 and 1, the key can
be removed.
Switch position 6, which is designated on the lock by T, is intended for use
by Field Engineering. From switch position 0, the key provided can be
turned to position T only.This key is not included in the scope of supply.
The central keylock has only one tumbler arrangement, i.e.there is only
one set of keys for all keylocks with the above-mentioned key variants for
the various switch positions.

Swipecard reader (SCR)
The optionally available 3-track swipecard reader is equipped with three in-
dividually installed magnetic heads, i.e.three ISO tracks can be read simul-
taneously when the card is pulled once through the slot.
Using the swipecard reader
Pull the magnetic card evenly and quickly, from right to left, through the
slot on the swipecard reader.Make sure that the magnetic stripe is facing
the keys.
Note the following precautions when handling magnetic cards:
Never allow magnetic cards to come into contact with liquids.
Never bend or fold magnetic cards.
Never expose magnetic cards to a magnetic field.
Insert the magnetic card in the special slot provided on the reader
from the right-hand side only; inserting the card at another location
could damage the read heads.
In order to ensure that the quality of reading results is maintained, cle-
an the swipecard reader at least once a week. To do this, use the spe-
cial cleaning card that can be ordered from Wincor Nixdorf GmbH.

Self-test
Self-test
A brief self-test of the keyboard is performed each time the system is swit-
ched on. Data cannot be transmitted during this test. The system is infor-
med of the successful completion of the test.
Software
The connection of this keyboard on the software level is by means of the
Retail Device Interface (RDI, Version 3.2 or higher) and Retail Presentati-
on Manager (RPM) program packages.
