Before First Use
After unpacking the device you should clean the heating plates (see below for further instructions)
.The first heating process should take place without any foodstuffs, let it heat for about ten
minutes. There may be a small amount of smoke and/or odour that is caused by production
residues and is harmless.
Operating Instructions
Place the appliance on a level, heat resistant surface away from other cooking apparatus or sink.
Plug the supply cord plug into a suitable 230V ~ 50Hz earthed socket. Close the lid. Allow appliance
to heat for a few minutes.
During heating cycle the Red light will glow. When the appliance is ready to use the Green light will
glow. This light will cycle on and off during cooking as the appliance automatically maintains the
correct temperature. Prepare your sandwich bread by lightly spreading butter to one side while the
appliance heats up.
When the appliance has heated sufficiently, place one slice of buttered bread onto the cooking
surface (buttered side down). Place desired filling onto the centre portion of the bread. Place the
top slice of bread onto the filling with the buttered side up. Close the lid. Your sandwich will take
between 2-5 minutes to cook depending on the filling used.
Do not overfill the sandwich. Allow a gap around the edges so that the sandwich maker can seal the
sandwich. To remove the sandwich use a plastic or wooden spatula, do not use metal utensils or
sharp-edged cooking tools as they could scratch the non-stick surface.

the non-stick surface. Should any residue be difficult to remove, pour a small amount of cooking oil
onto the plate and leave for five minutes. When the residue has softened wipe clean.
To Clean Cooked on Stains
Should your sandwich maker require additional cleaning of stubborn build up and stains, the
following cleaning method is recommended:
1. Combine 2 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda and 2 teaspoons water.
2. Preheat the sandwich maker for approximately 1-1½ minutes.
3. Turn the power OFF and remove the plug. Brush the above paste solution onto the non-stick
surface. Allow to stand for 1-2 hours.
4. Using a soft, dampened sponge, vigorously wipe the non-stick surface.
