- Your Steerix STRX-9 comes with a water-cooling system. Before using your Steerix
STRX-9, carefully check the silicone tubing to make sure the water-cooling system is
working correctly and that all tubes are properly attached and free of debris. If the
system is not correctly installed, this could lead to ESC burn out and motor failure.
- The Steerix STRX-9 is designed for use in fresh water only. They are not designed to
be used in salt water.

1. Make sure the transmitter ON/OFF
switch is in the “OFF” position.
2. Remove battery cover screw.
3. Remove battery cover by pressing
down on the embossed arrow and
sliding the cover as indicated.
4. Insert the 9V battery, paying close
attention to the + and - polarity.
5. Slide the battery cover back into place.
6. Replace battery cover screw.
NOTE: Remove the 9V battery from the
transmitter if you do not intend to
use it for an extended period of
time.
Installing the 6V NiMH Battery in
your Boat
(Model should be placed on its supplied
boat stand to prevent damage to the
running hardware.)
1. Remove the hatch by pulling
carefully on the catch at the rear
section.
2. Insert the 6V battery into the left side
of the hull.
3. Insert the 6V battery connector into the matching connector inside the STRX-9. DO
NOT force them together.
4. Replace the hatch.
NOTE: 1. There is a rubber ring placed along the slot of the hull. Always make sure it is
secured properly before re-positioning the hatch.
2. When you are not using the boat, also unplug the battery and remove the
rubber ring from the hull. This will keep the rubber ring exible and provide
eective water-resistance for future use.

Charging Instructions
1. Insert 8 AA batteries into the eld charger.
Make sure the polarity is correct. Switch to
AAX8” position. The red light indicator will
turn on.
2. Plug in the 6V NiMH battery to the charger.
The green light indicator turns on while
charging.
3. A fully discharged battery will take about
40min to fully charge. Do not overcharge. Do not leave the battery unattended while
charging.
4. The green indicator light will turn o when the battery is nished charging.
5. Disconnect the 6V NiMH battery from the charger and switch to the “DC12V position.
The 6V NiMH battery does not come pre-charged. You must fully charge the battery
before using the Steerix STRX-9.
The 6V NiMH battery can be re-charged many times before it needs to be replaced.
When the battery no longer holds a charge (is dead), it should be properly recycled.
NOTE 1: The Steerix STRX-9 will typically run for about 8-10 min on a fully charged
battery. As soon as you notice a drop o in speed, you should bring the model
back to shore or you may lose control of the boat.
NOTE 2: Continuous running of the model will generate high heat levels, which will lead
to premature wear on the motor. It is recommended to let the model cool down
for about 5-10 min before installing a re-charged battery pack.
Transmitter/Receiver Binding
The binding process ties the transmitter and receiver together. Under normal
circumstances, both items are supplied like this from the factory. If, however, you nd
that your transmitter and boat are not communicating (receivers red LED light is on),
please follow these instructions:
1. Switch “ON” the transmitter.
2. Switch “ON” the receiver by attaching the 6V NiMH battery packs connector to the
matching connector in the boat.
3. Press down the “BIND” button on the receiver. The receiver’s green LED light will be
on to indicate that binding has been successful and the receiver will now accept
commands from the transmitter.
NOTE 1: During the binding process, the transmitter and receiver should be no more
than 3ft. apart and no other similar devices should be within 35ft.
NOTE 2: If the green LED light is ashing, the binding process has failed. Please repeat
the steps above.

Basic Controls
1. Forward Throttle Trigger
Your Steerix STRX-9 can be driven forward by
pulling the throttle trigger. Release the trigger
to stop the boat.
2. Left/Right Steering Wheel
The steering wheel controls the Steerix
STRX-9’s left and right movement. Turn the
wheel to the left to steer to the left. Turn the
wheel right to steer the boat right. Release the
wheel to go straight.
RACING TIP: The Steerix STRX-9 is an oval racer
designed for clockwise racing and will be less responsive to steering inputs at high
speed, particularly left turns. Decrease your speed to allow tighter turning.
Turn Fins
The Steerix STRX-9 features adjustable turn ns
to aid in turning. These can be adjusted using
the included Allen Wrench. The optimum angle
of the adjustment is 45 degrees to the hull.
Driving Your STRX-9
1. Switch “ON” the transmitter. Check that the transmitters red LED light glows brightly.
2. Check that the model’s turn ns are adjusted correctly.
3. Switch “ON” the model. (Connect the 6V NiMH battery pack.)
4. Check that the propeller and the rudder respond to the transmitter inputs before
placing the boat in the water.
After Use:
1. When you have nished using the boat, rst switch “OFF” the model by disconnecting
the battery pack. Then switch “OFF” the transmitter.
2. Remove all batteries from the transmitter and model.
3. Leave the boat’s upper deck o to allow moisture to evaporate. Place the model in a
safe, dry place until it is dry and then store it away.
NOTE: If the boat begins to bob when running, it may have taken on an excessive amount
of water. In this case, you should immediately return to shore, remove the upper
deck and drain the water from the hull.

Driving Your STRX-9 Cont.
If the boat does not run in a straight line
when not being steered, you can x this by
adjusting the steering trim located on the
upper right hand side of the transmitter.
1. Run your model on calm water when
adjusting the steering. If your model runs
to the right when not being steered, press
the “ST. TRIM-L button. Re-center the
model and see if this has corrected the
problem. Keep making small adjustments
in this way until the model runs straight.
2. Press the “ST. TRIM-R” button to correct if
the model steers to the left without being steered in the same way as explained above.
Lubricating the Drive Shaft
Troubleshooting
Lubricating the ex shaft is vital to the life of the drivetrain,
The lubricant also acts as a water seal, keeping water from
entering the hull through the stung tube. It is
recommended to lubricate the ex shaft, propeller shaft after
every 2 or 3 runs.
1. Use one hand to hold the silicone coupler tight, while the
other hand pulls the propeller shaft out from the stung
tube.
2. Lubricate the ex shaft/prop shaft with the waterproof
marine grease, reinstall the ex shaft/prop shaft in reverse
order. Be sure to push the ex shaft end into the silicone
coupler for full connection.
NOTE: After several times of pulling the ex shaft out from the silicone coupler, the silicone
coupler might lose exibility, which is not good for the connection of the ex shaft.
Once this happens, replace the silicone coupler with the extra coupler that was
included in the gift box.

Warranty & Warnings
Replacement Parts
Keep the packaging and instruction manual as they contain important information.
Always check your model for loose screws and components before operating.
Always unplug the battery in the model before removing debris that has become tangled in the prop.
The transmitter's range will vary depending on your surroundings and battery strength. Do not operate too far away or control will be lost.
Ensure that all batteries are correctly installed and that the 6V NiMH battery is fully charged.
Do not touch moving parts during operation, especially the propeller.
Some of the electronic components may become very hot during use and can severely burn you if touched before they cool. Let the model stand and cool down before handling
the motor, ESC and cooling components.
If you lose control of your STRX-9, never wade into the water with strong currents to retrieve it. First, hold the transmitter as high as you can and try to re-establish control. If this
does not work, nd another way to move closer to the model, but do not endanger yourself in the process.
