Getting Started
The AMP 100 provides wireless POS functionality in a 127mm (5”) colorful display and capacitive touch screen. The sleek ergonomic design offers power and
performance with a smart card reader, Bluetooth module, Wifi, 4G wireless mobile, and magnetic stripe reader-integrated PIN-entry devices (PED) that fits in
your hand.

Box Contents
Before using your AMP 100, remove the unit and any included accessories from the shipping cartoon and verify the contents against the packing list.
Retain all packing materials, invoice, and bill of lading. These may be required to return the device for servicing later, or to process a claim with the
shipping carrier.
Carefully inspect the contents inside of the packaging for any signs of damage. If there are signs of damage, do not attempt to use the unit. Notify your
account executive or contact technical support at https://ipcmobile.com/devices.
Ensure the battery is fully charged prior to initial use.

Getting Started
The AMP 100 allows you to scan barcodes and capture magnetic stripe data to pass into compatible applications. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

Set–up Your AMP 100
Two USB communication mode are available based on which USB cable is connected:
USB-A to USB-C (USB AM 4PIN to Type C SYI-0108B) communicates to Android’s application processor to select:

USB-C to USB-C (Type C Male to Type C Female SYI-0129) provides communication to a secure processor. Plug this cable into the USB-A to USB-C cable for:
Application download mode to load rmware and/or application to secure processor
System mode for key management
Test mode
Modes
To enter application download mode, plug the USB cable and press both Scan buttons. Once you hear one beep, release the buttons.
To enter system mode, release the buttons after you hear two beeps.
To enter test mode, release the buttons after you hear three beeps. When working with the secure processor USB, a special USB cable, SYI-0129 is
required.

Charge Your AMP 100
The rechargeable Li-Po battery is charged by the
USB power adapter connected to the USB port,
OR
Via the device attached to a docking station.
Note:
The battery cannot be removed. If you have any issues with the battery, contact your Infinite Peripherals account representative.

Insert or Remove the SIM Card
To enable the smart card features of your AMP 100, insert a Nano SIM card into the SIM tray.
Note:
The SIM tray supports only Nano-size cards.
1. Use a paper clip or ejection tool to open the tray on the side of the unit.
2. Slide the tray out carefully.
3. Place the SIM card into the tray, and then close the tray.

Smart Card Reader
1. Position a smart card with the gold contacts facing upward.
2. Place the card into the smart card reader slot in a smooth, continuous motion until it seats rmly.
3. Hand the unit to the customer for PIN entry.
4. Remove the card after the display indicates the transaction is complete. The transaction is void if the card is removed before the transaction is complete.
Turn on the AMP 100
1. With the unit turned off, press the Power button until you hear a single beep.
2. Press the button a second time to activate the scanner for normal barcode scanner.
Note:
If the AMP 100 is idling for an extended period of time, the power turns off automatically to preserve the charge on the internal battery pack. When turned
off, the unit goes to sleep immediately.

Contactless Card Reader
The contactless card reader supports a variety of payment types. Refer to Technical Specifications on page 12 for details.
1. Activiate the unit by pressing the Power button.
2. Place the RFID tag/card as close as possible over the receiver/transmitter as
indicated by the RFID label.
Note:
Depending on the type of RFID tags/cards, it may be necessary for tags/cards to
make direct contact with the surface where the RFID receiver/transmitter is located
for proper reading and writing.
Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR)
The built-in magnetic stripe reader incorporates a 3-track, bi-directional, encryption-capable read head. A single swipe reads data from all three tracks.
Note:
The MSR functions as an unencrypted MSR until an encryption key is injected into the MSR head by a designated Infinite Peripherals key injection facility. Refer
to https://ipcmobile.com/support/technical-services#key-injection for details.
1. Insert the card with the magnetic stripe face up into either end of the MSR
reader, and then swipe the card through toward the other end of the reader.
2. Give the unit to the customer for signature or PIN entry.
Note:
To ensure the magnetic stripe pass over the read head evenly, keep the edge of the
card flat on the inner edge of the reader.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement
Do not attempt to open the AMP 100 or replace the battery. If the battery is not charging properly or the unit is not turning on, contact your Infinite Peripherals
account representative or technical support at https://ipcmobile.com/support.
Cleaning the AMP 100
Use a clean, soft cloth slightly dampened with water and a drop of mild soap to clean the unit.
Do not spray cleaners directly onto the display.
For stubborn stains, use alcohol-based cleaners.
Never use thinner, trichloroethane, or ketone-based solvents as they can deteriorate the plastic or rubber parts.
Note:
Do not clean the card readers as this may void the warranty. For card reader service, contact Infinite Peripherals support.
Reset the AMP 100
You can perform a soft reset of the AMP 100 to cycle the power and allows the unit to restart.
1. To begin the reset, press the reset button on the top of the unit until you hear a series of beeps.
2. Release the button. The unit restarts.
Note:
If the AMP 100 does not restart promptly, repeat the steps.

Problem Possible Cause
Blank display
Ensure the battery is fully charged.
Touchscreen does not respond
If the display is blank, contact https://ipcmobile.com/support.
If the display does not respond but is not blank, do the following:
Magnetic card reader
Perform a test transaction using one or more cards to ensure the issue is not a defective card.
Ensure the card is swiped correctly.
Smart Card Reader
Ensure the card is inserted correctly.
Warranty
Innite Peripherals does not warrant, and is not responsible for, any damage to the AMP 100 (“Product”) or the assembled device as a result of liquid or solid
particle intrusion into the Product, or damaged caused by dropping the Product with the assembled device. If a material or workmanship defect arises with
regard to any Innite Peripherals product, and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, Innite Peripherals (at our sole discretion) will repair the
Product using new or refurbished parts, or replace the Product with a new or refurbished Product.
For purposes of this limited warranty, “refurbished” means a product or part that has been substantially returned to its original specications. In the event of
a defect, these are your exclusive remedies.
