This user's manual describes how to use SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.
Make sure to read the entire manual before starting use, so that you can make the most of the
functions.

This manual uses examples of screens displayed in a Web browser on a computer.
The screens differ on a smartphone or tablet.
This service uses JavaScript. If JavaScript is disabled in the Web browser settings, the

Using a social network account
1. Select [Create a new SHIMANO ID to log in] on the top page of SHIMANO
CONNECT Lab.
2. Select the social network to use.
3. Log in to the social network.

4. Enter the various items.
Items indicated with an asterisk [*] are required.
5. Confirm the items on the screen, such as the usage conditions, and select
the check box if you agree.
6. Select [Submit].
7. Select [OK].
SHIMANO CONNECT Lab links with the selected social network, and you can log in with a
social network account.

Registering with an email address
1. Select [Create a new SHIMANO ID to log in] on the top page of SHIMANO
CONNECT Lab.
2. Enter the various items.
Items indicated with an asterisk [*] are required.
3. Confirm the items on the screen, such as the usage conditions, and select
the check box if you agree.
4. Select [Submit].
An email for confirming the email address is sent to the specified email address.

5. Select the link or URL in the email.
6. The [Email address authentication] screen is displayed, and you will be
logged in to SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.
Perform the email address authorization procedure within 24 hours. If 24 hours have
elapsed, perform user registration again.
If the e-mail does not arrive, check your inbox settings, spam folder, etc.
A SHIMANO ID must be registered in advance.
Make sure to log out when you are signed in from a public computer, such as a computer
at an internet cafe.
1. Select [Log in with your SHIMANO ID] on the title page of SHIMANO
CONNECT Lab.

2. Select the social network to use for logging in or enter your email address
and password, then select [Submit].
1. Select [LOGOUT] on the top right of the screen.

Displays the number of notifications received.
Select to display the content of the notifications.
(2) [UPLOAD]
Uploads ride data to SHIMANO CONNECT Lab.
The data can also be forwarded/posted to a linked Web service at the same time.
Ride data cannot be uploaded on a smartphone.

(1) Profile picture/username
Displays the profile picture and username set on the setting screen.
Select to display the setting screen.
(2) [DASHBOARD]
Displays recent statistics and activity information.
For details, refer to the “ Using the dashboard ” section.
(3) [STATISTICS/POWER CURVE]
Displays statistics and the power curve.
For details, refer to the “ Checking statistics/power curve ” section.
(4) [CALENDAR]
Enables you to check activity in the calendar format.
For details, refer to the “ Displaying activity in the calendar format ” section.
(5) [ACTIVITY LIST]
Searches activity with various conditions and displays the results in a list.
For details, refer to the “ Displaying the activity list ” section.
(6) [SETTINGS]
Configures user settings, screen display settings, and the Web link service.
For details, refer to the “ Changing settings ” section.
(7) Minimize menu
Minimize the menu icons and text to display more of the content area.

Uploading ride data
Enables you to upload ride data to display in a Web browser and perform detailed analysis.
When using SHIMANO CONNECT Lab, ride data must be uploaded before any features are
available.
1. Select [UPLOAD] displayed in the header.
2. Select [Choose Files] in the displayed dialog, then select the ride data to
upload.

3. Select [Upload].
When [Uploaded. (Analyzing.)] is displayed in [Status], close the dialog.
Travel logs in the FIT format can be uploaded.
Files in FIT format, which is a ommon log file format used for cycle computers, can be
uploaded.
Log files in .db format from Pioneer SGX-CA600 and SGX-CA500 can also be uploaded.
The ride data can also be forwarded/posted to a Web service at the same time.
Select the Web service in [Transfer/Post to] after configuring the Web service link in
[Web Link] on the setting screen in advance. The check box is automatically selected if
automatic forwarding is set.
To forward/post ride data, select the check box of the corresponding Web service.

4. Data analysis starts when uploading of the ride data is complete.
The activities being analyzed are displayed in the header notifications. A notification is
displayed when analysis is complete.

Using the dashboard
Displays the statistics and activity information for a certain period.
(1) Tabs
Switches between [ALL], [FAVORITE], and the user selected activity profiles.
The activity profiles to display can be set in [Dashboard Activity Category] on the setting
screen.
(2) Settings
Displays the dashboard setting screen.
(3) Statistics
Displays the statistics for the parameters set in [Dashboard Statistics] on the setting screen.
The statistics are displayed in a graph.
(4) [ACTIVITY LIST]
Displays the activities included in the selected tab.
Select the activity name or activity information to display the analysis screen for that
activity.
(5) Graph details
Select one of the graphs in the statistics section to display the details.

(1) Register/cancel favorites
Select to register/cancel favorites.
Registered favorites can be checked on the [FAVORITE] tab.
(2) Travel start date/time
Displays the start date/time of the activity.
(3) Edit
Displays the activity edit dialogue for the selected activities.
Enables you to edit the activity name and category, delete the activity, and add comments.
(4) Post
Displays the activity post dialog for the selected activities.
Enables you to forward/post activity to the following Web services:
STRAVA
TrainingPeaks
Today's Plan
(5) Parameter block
Displays the parameters set in [Group of activity] on the setting screen in one of the
following three formats:
Numeric value
Map
Force vector
Select the Web service in [Transfer/Post to] after configuring the Web service link in [Web
Link] on the setting screen in advance.

Checking statistics/power curve
Displays the statistics and power curve of parameters.
(1) [Statistics] window
Displays the statistics for the set parameters.
(2) [Power curve] window
Displays the average maximum power curve per hour.
A maximum of four plots can be displayed at the same time and compared.
The horizontal axis displays the time interval and the vertical axis displays the power.

Statistics window
(1) Parameter group
Select the parameter group to display on the horizontal axis of the statistics.
Custom combinations of parameters can be set in the [STATISTICS/POWER CURVE] section of
the settings screen.
For details, refer to the “ Setting the view of the statistics/power curve screen ” section.
(2) Display interval
Select the interval to display in the statistics.
(3) Display unit
Select the time interval that is displayed on the horizontal axis.
Example: If you set the display period to [Most recent 3 months] and set the display unit to
[Week], the most recent three months are separated by week.
(4) Settings
Displays [STATISTIC/POWER CURVE] on the setting screen.
(5) Delete statistics
Deletes the corresponding statistics when multiple statistics windows are displayed.
(6) Statistics
Displays the statistics for the set parameters.
Select the graph to see the parameter values.
(7) [Add Statistics]
Enables up to three statistics to be displayed.

Power curve graph window
(1) Graph view
Select the interval to display. You can select up to four intervals to display.
Custom intervals can be set in [STATISTICS/POWER CURVE] on the setting screen.
For details, refer to the “ Setting the view of the statistics/power curve screen ” section.
(2) [SETTINGS]
Displays [STATISTIC/POWER CURVE] on the setting screen.
(3) Power curve graph
A maximum of four plots can be displayed at the same time.
(4) Power interval table
Displays the power value for each interval of the power curve graphs in the table format.
You can select the interval to display.
(5) Average maximum power curve per hour
Dotted line
Displayed when the mouse pointer is placed over a graph. The interval time and power
value are displayed at the intersection of the power curve and dotted line.
Solid line
Select on the graph to display the interval time and power value on the graph and switch
the dotted line to a solid line.

Displaying activity in the calendar format
Displays activity in the calendar format.
(1) Display month
Select the year and month to display in the calendar format.
(2) [Total Parameter]
Select the parameter totals to display.
(3) Weekly total value
Displays the total value per week.
(4) Monthly total value
Displays the total value for the month.
(5) Activity view
Displays the activity information, etc. for that day.
Place the mouse pointer over a day where activity exists to display the comment and
activity name.
You can enter a comment by selecting a date. Comments can also be entered for days
without activities.
