Faulty and/or discarded electrical or electronic
apparatus have to be collected at the appropriate
recycling locations.
Keep bystanders away.
Beware of thrown or flying objects to bystanders. Keep
bystanders a safe distance away from the machine.
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Lawn trimmer
Never operate the machine with damaged guards of
without the guards in place
ª Take care against injury from any device fitted for
trimming the filament line length. After extending
new cutter line always return the machine to its
normal operating position before switching on
Never fit metal cutting elements
Keep your hands and feet away from the cutting area
at all times. Keep your second (front) hand on the
auxilary handle.
Always hold the trimmer at a safe distance from the
body.
Always wear protective goggles.
Only use the trimmer in daylight.
Ensure the ventilation openings are clear of debris at
all times.
Ensure there are no people or animals within 3
metres of your trimming area.
Ensure that the terminals cannot be shorted by other
metal parts such as screws nail etc.
Before using the trimmer, remove any stones, sticks,
toys or other foreign objects from the area.
Never reach into the underside of the appliance with
the battery still attached. Remove the battery before
attempting to remove or touch the trimmer thread
hub cap.
Keep the cutting tools sharp and clean for better
performance. Follow instructions for lubrication and
cleaning accessories. Inspect tool cord periodically
and if damaged have it repaired by an authorized
service facility. Keep handles dry and clean free from
oil and grease.
Do not carry the trimmer with a finger on the switch.
The use of any accessory or attachment, other than
those recommended in this instruction manual, may
present a risk of personal injury.
Hedge shears + Grass shears
The cutting elements continue to move after the
motor is switch off.
If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect
the cord from the power supply immediately. DO
NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE
DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY. Do not use the
appliance if the appliance cord or the extension cord
are damaged.
Keep extension cord away from cutting elements.
Always ensure the guards are fitted when using the
tool.
Check the cable for damage before starting work and
replace if necessary.
Inspect and maintain the trimmer regularly. Have the
trimmer repaired only by an authorised repairer.
Keep your hands and feet away from the cutting area
at all times.
Always hold the trimmer at a safe distance from the
body.
Always wear protective goggles.
Always wear gloves.
Only use the trimmer in daylight.
Ensure the ventilation openings are clear of debris at
all times.
Ensure there are no people of animals within 5
metres of your trimming area.
Remove the plug from the power socket before
attempting any maintenance.
After use the tool should be stored so that the blade
is not exposed.
IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY
AND BATTERY CHARGER
If you come into contact with acid from the battery,
immediately wash it off with water. If acid gets into
the eyes, rinse with plenty of water and consult a
doctor!
1. Read and observe the operating instructions and
safety instructions for the battery and battery
charger before use!
2. Please note! Only use the battery and battery
charger delivered by the supplier to avoid the risk of
accidents.
3. Keep the battery, battery charger and the electrical
appliance away from damp, such as rain or snow.
4. Before using the battery charger, always check that
all the cables are correctly connected.
5. Do not use the battery charger if you see that its
cable is damaged. Have the damaged cable replaced
immediately.
6. If you are not using the battery charger, remove the
plug from the mains. Do not pull out the plug by the
cable.
7. If you drop the battery charger or it is interrupted by
another strong mechanical use, have it checked for
damage by a recognised professional workshop
before you use it again. Damaged parts must be
repaired.
8. Handle the battery with care. Do not drop it or
knock it.
9. Never try to repair the battery or battery charger
yourself.

Repairs must always be carried out by a recognised
professional workshop to avoid the risk of accidents.
10. Before cleaning or servicing the battery or battery
charger, always remove the charger's plug from the
mains.
11. Never charge the battery if the ambient temperature
is below 10° C or above 40° C.
12. The ventilation holes of the charger should always be
free.
13. The battery may not be short-circuited.
If short-circuiting occurs, power with a high
electrical current will flow. This can lead to the
battery overheating, catching fire or exploding,
which can result in damage to the battery or the
user having an accident.
Therefore:
1. Do not connect cables to the poles of the battery.
2. Ensure that there are no metal objects (nails,
paperclips, coins, etc.) in the battery holder.
3. Do not leave the battery in water or rain.
4. Damaged battery chargers or batteries which can no
longer be charged should be disposed of as special waste.
Do not dispose of them together with domestic waste.
5. Never throw the battery into water or a fire, it may
explode.
3. ASSEMBLY
TIGHTENING AND LOOSENING THE
BATTERY

Check that the outside of the battery or the
machine is clean and dry before connecting the
charger.
Place the battery in the foot of the machine as
indicated in the diagram. Press it into place until it
clicks into place.
Press the locking buttons on both sides before
loosening the battery and then pull the battery out of
the foot of the machine.
Guide wheels

The guide wheels ensure you comfortable operation
when cutting grass with shear blades.
Insert wheel A (with bolt) from either side of the
housing
Insert the other wheel B, from the opposite side and
turn A clockwise to engage the nut in B.
When using as a hedge trimmer, dismount the
wheels by reversing the above procedure and fit the
handle and hand guard instead.
Telescopic handle - assembling

The telescopic handle extends the reach of the tool for
cutting hedge tops.
Remove the battery from the rear of the shear
motor housing and fit the cover plate instead.
Align the lower end of the telescopic handle with the
hole in the rear of the shear motor housing, noting
that the slot in the housing must fit over the rib on the
handle. Push the handle until it 'clicks' into place.
Fit the battery into the top of the telescopic handle.

The telescopic handle can be extended approximately
275 mm from its closed position and the lower end can
be swiveled through 180º to attain the correct working
angle for the toolhead.
To extend the handle, slacken the nut C and pull out
the tube as desired. Lock in place by screwing in the
nut C.
To alter the angle of the toolhead, slacken the nut D
several turns, move the head as desired and re-clamp
nut D.
To remove the telescopic handle, press the black
locking button near the flange of the shear motor
housing.
Changing cutting blades

Unplug the battery before changing or fitting of
blades. Risk of injury! Wear safety gloves!
Unscrew blade holder E (turn anticlockwise).
Remove the shear assembly from the shear motor
housing.
Cleaning away any grass or dirt, fit the new shear
assembly onto the motor housing. It may be
necessary to rotate the drive coupling slightly to
permit full engagement of the new assembly.
Refit the blade holder E and turn it firmly clockwise
to lock the assembly into place.
Hand guard and additional handle

These must be fitted when the unit is used without
the telescopic handle!
Press the transparent hand guard (F) onto the front
of the shear motor housing, taking care that the hole
in the guard for the screw (G) will align with the hole
in the motor housing. Fit the screw.
Slide the guide handle (H) over the handle of the
shear motor housing and fit it in place with the screw
supplied. Note that the ribs in on the handle bushes
must engage in the slots of the housing. Tighten the
screw to fix in place.
Fitting the lawn trimmer
Fix the guard to the trimmer motor housing using the
2 screws and washers provided, taking care to align
the peg on the guard with the slot in the housing.

Længden på tråden afhænger af justeringen af den lille
kniv (L) på indersiden af værnet. Kniven kan justeres
ved hjælp af en stjerneskruetrækker.
Montering af ny trimmetråd
Når du ønsker at udskifte eller monterer nyt
trimmetråd, skal du fjerne batteriet og gøre følgende:
Tryk på frigivningsørene på siden af centerlåget.
Træk centerlåget af skaftet (mist ikke fjederen!).
Fjern trimmetrådspatronen fra centerlåget og
udskift den med en ny patron.
Montér fjederen og centerlåget tilbage på skaftet og
tryk indtil de klikker på plads.
4. BRUG
Start
Sikkerhedsknappen forhindrer at maskinen ikke tændes
ved et uheld. For at tænde for maskinen skal du først
trykke på sikkerhedsknappen med din tommelfinger og
derefter trykke på hovedkontakten for at starte
maskinen.
Stop
Frigør hovedkontakten for at stoppe maskinen.
Bladene fortsætter med at køre rundt efter at
kontakten er afbrudt. Vent indtil den stopper før du
frigør dit greb om håndtaget, eller sætter din hånd i
nærheden af skæreområdet.
OPLADNING AF BATTERIER
Det batteri, som følger med maskinen, er ikke helt
opladet.
Brug kun batteriopladeren ved temperaturer
mellem +10 og +40 °C.
Brug kun batteriopladeren i tørre omgivelser.
Sæt batteriet i batteriladeren som vist på tegningen.
Sørg for, at polerne sidder rigtigt som angivet med +
og -.
Sæt stikket til batteriladeren i en stikkontakt. Den
røde indikator begynder at lyse.
Det røde lys slukkes ikke automatisk, når
opladningstiden er forbi! Tag batteriet ud af
opladeren inden 5 timer. Hvis batteriet ikke tages
ud af opladeren efter opladningstiden, kan det blive
overophedet.
OPBEVARING
Når maskinen opbevares i mere end 6 uger:
Aflad batteriet helt (ved at køre produktet), og
genoplad herefter batteriet i mere end 3-5 timer.
Opbevar i et frostfrit rum.
Genoplad batteriet hver 1 eller 2 måned i
vinterperioden, da langsomt vil aflades.
5. SERVICE & VEDLIGEHOLDELSE
Sørg for, at maskinen ikke er strømførende, når der
udføres vedligeholdelse på motoren.
Disse maskiner er blevet konstrueret, så de kan arbejde i
lange perioder med et minimum af vedligeholdelse.
Korrekt vedligeholdelse og rengøring af maskinen er en
forudsætning for lang tids tilfredsstillende brug.
Rengøring
Ventilationsrillerne på maskinen skal holdes rene, så
man undgår overophedning af motoren. Kappen
omkring motoren skal rengøres med en blød klud, helst
hver gang maskinen har været brugt. Ventilationsrillerne
skal holdes fri for støv og snavs. Hvis snavset ikke vil gå af,
bruges en blød klud med sæbevand. Der må ikke bruges
opløsningsmidler som f.eks. benzin, sprit, salmiakspiritus
o.l. Sådanne opløsningsmidler kan beskadige dele af
plastic.
Smøring
Maskinen kræver ingen ekstra smøring.
Fejl
Skulle en fejl opstå, f.eks. pga. slidtage af en enhed,
kontakt venligst serviceadressen på garantibeviset. På
bagsiden af denne manual finder du en tegning med alle
dele, der kan bestilles.
Miljø
For at undgå transportbeskadigelse leveres maskinen i
en solid emballage. Emballagen er så vidt muligt lavet af
genbrugsmateriale. Genbrug derfor emballagen.
NiCd celler kan recirkuleres. De indsamlede batterier
recirkuleres eller bortskaffes på en miljøvenlig måde.
Defekte og/eller kasserede elektriske eller
elektroniske maskiner skal afleveres på en
genbrugsplads.

garantibetingelserne.

Slide the trimmer motor housing on to the lower end
of the telescopic handle as described in “Telescopic
handle - assembling”.
Adjust the length and angle of the telescopic handle
as in “Telescopic handle - adjusting”
To remove the trimmer, depress the black locking
button and slide the trimmer housing off the
extension handle.
Extending the trimmer thread

When you need to extend the trimmer thread,
simple tap the centre of the hub cap (K) on the
ground
The length of the thread depends on adjustment of
the small knife (L) inside the guard. The knife can be
adjusted with help of a crosshead screwdriver.
Fitting new trimmer thread
When you need to replace or fit new trimmer thread,
remove the battery and proceed as follows:
Depress the release lugs on the sides of the hubcap.
Pull the hubcap off of the prop shaft (don't lose the
spring!). Remove the trimmer thread cartridge from
the hubcap and either replace it with a new cartridge.
Refit the spring and hubcap assembly to the prop
shaft and push it in until it clicks in position.
4. USE
Starting
The safety button prevents the tool being switched on
accidentally. To switch on the tool you must first press
the safety button with your thumb and then push the
main switch to start up the tool.
Stopping
Release the main switch to stop the tool.
The blades continue to spin after the trigger is
released. Wait for it to stop before releasing your
grip on the handle or putting your hand near the
cutting area.
CHARGING BATTERIES
The battery that comes with the machine is not fully
charged.
Only use the battery charger at temperatures
between +10 and +40 °Celsius.
Only use the battery charger in dry rooms.
Place the battery in the battery charger as the
diagram indicates. Make sure that the poles are
placed correctly as indicated by the + and -.
After the charging time the red light will not switch
off automatically! Remove the battery within 5
hours from the charger. If the battery is not
removed from the charger after the charging period
it may become overheated.
STORAGE
When storing the machine for longer than 6 weeks:
Fully discharge the battery (by running the product)
and then recharge the battery for 3-5 hours.
Store in a dry and frost-free place.
Recharge the battery every 1 or 2 months during the
winter, because the battery will discharge slowly.
5. SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Make sure that the machine is not live when
carrying out maintenance work on the motor.
These machines have been designed to operate over a
long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon
proper machine care and regular cleaning.
Cleaning
Keep the ventilation slots of the machine clean to
prevent overheating of the engine. Regularly clean the
machine housing with a soft cloth, preferably after each
use. Keep the ventilation slots free from dust and dirt. If
the dirt does not come off use a soft cloth moistened
with soapy water. Never use solvents such as petrol,
alcohol, ammonia water, etc. These solvents may
damage the plastic parts.
Lubrication
The machine requires no additional lubrication.
Faults
Should a fault occur, e.g. after wear of a part, please
contact the service address on the warranty card. In the
back of this manual you find an exploded view showing
the parts that can be ordered.
Environment
To prevent damage during transport, the appliance is
delivered in a solid packaging which consists largely of
reusable material. Therefore please make use of options
for recycling the packaging.
NiCd cells are recyclable. The collected battery packs
will be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally safe
way.
Faulty and/or discarded electrical or
electronic apparatus have to be collected at
the appropriate recycling locations.
Warranty
The warranty conditions can be found on the separately
enclosed warranty card.
