Gleason Reel Multi-cable Gland is a weather-tight seal for cable entrances to junction boxes. It can be used for round or flat cables, stacked or side-by-side, as long as the package is no larger than 1.5" x 5.125". The gland is not a strain relief.

To use the gland, first disassemble it and cut an opening and drill holes in the junction box using the template provided. Mount the body casting with a rubber gasket between the casting and the junction box wall using the bolts provided.

Thread the cables through the top clamp, Micarta boards, and rubber seal, and reassemble the gland as shown in the instructions. Position the cables as required and thoroughly tighten the cap screws.

junction boxes and may be used for either round or flat cables. It may be used with multiple cables
stacked or side-by-side providing entire package is no larger than 1.5" x 5.125". NOTE: Gland is
NOT a strain relief.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Disassemble gland (Fig. 1).
2. Using template below, cut opening and drill holes in junction box. Mount body casting with
rubber gasket between casting and junction box wall using bolts provided.
3. Using end or short section of
cable(s) as template, trace outline
of cable(s) in center of both Micarta
boards and rubber seal. (Fig. 2)
CAUTION:
Locate cables carefully.
Cut-outs in Micarta boards and
rubber seal must line up exactly.
4. Scribe line 1/8" (0.125") OUTSIDE
of cable outline (Fig. 2) on Micarta
boards. Cut out cable openings with jigsaw or similar tool.
5. Scribe line 1/16"(0.062) INSIDE of cable outline (Fig 2) on seal. Cut out
cable opening using hot knife or similar tool. Sides of cut-out must be as
smooth as possible to prevent leakage.
6. Thread cable through top clamp, Micarta boards and rubber seal and
reassemble as shown in Figure 1. Seat top clamp plate on top Micarta
board and secure with four cap screws.
7. Position cable as required and thoroughly tighten cap screws.
8. Apply silicone sealant all around where body casting meets junction box, in crack between top Micarta board and cable(s) and
where top Micarta board meets top clamp plate. Allow sealant to cure per manufacturers instructions.
