Troubleshooting Guide:
No Sound from Any Speakers:
[Diagnosis]
Is there Power to the System?
Ensure that your subwoofer is plugged securely into a working AC wall outlet and power indicator is ON.
Ensure that the Power Switch on the subwoofer is ON.
Are your Volume Controls adjusted correctly?
Ensure your computer’s internal volume settings are set to mid-level, the Bass Volume on the Subwoofer Is set mid-way, and the Volume
of the Controller/Main Unit is adjusted clockwise for increased volume.
Is the Mute on your System set to Off?
Mute on applicable models is ON when depressed, and OFF when not depressed.
Are your Cables properly connected?
Check all the connections are secure.
Are you receiving an Audio Signal?
Connect your speakers to an alternate audio source, such as portable CD player or Walkman to determine that your speakers are working.
Have you set your DVD player or Sound Card model to multi-channel?
For some DVD players, you have to go to the setup menu to set your Audio output model. Some brands of DVD players do not supply
center channel output. Please read your DVD player manual to be sure.
For compute ruse, you have to go to Control Panel Sounds and Audio Devices to setup the sound card. Some cheaper 5.1 Sound Cards
do not supply the center channel. Please refer to your Sound Card manual.
Popping/Buzzing/Humming from the System:
[Diagnosis]
Are your cable Connections Secure?
Ensure the input cable is snugly inserted into the input socket on the rear of the subwoofer.

Are your Soundcard Settings Properly Configured?

Ensure that there are no nicks, cuts, kinks in your input cable.
Jiggle the cables at the subwoofer input sockets whilst playing music through the system to detect a break in the audio signal.
Adjust the Master Volume Control whilst playing music through the system to determine whether the level of distortion changes.
Determine if the problem persists in the same channel or moves to the opposite channel when the left and right speaker connections and
reversed.
No Sound or Weak Bass from the Subwoofer:

Is the Bass Volume Too Low?
Adjust your computer’s internal treble and bass volume settings to mid-level.
Increase the Bass Volume on the rear of the subwoofer.
* Note: Some source material has very little bass content. Test your system with different source materials for best results.
Sound is Distorted:
[Diagnosis]
Are your Volume Settings too High?
Adjust your computer’s volume settings to mid-level to avoid distorted or clipped signals.
Decrease the Master Volume on your Controller/Subwoofer.
* Note: Source material varies in quality. CDs will provide better quality audio than some compressed audio files. Test your system with
different source material for best results.
Listening to Your System:
All high quality speaker systems benefit from a running-in period on normal music sources.
To optimize the sound quality from your system:
Sit in a comfortable position at the computer desktop. Take time to test the listening environment
The system will perform at it’s best by using music CDs with wide frequency content and spacious left-to-right imaging.
The driver used in the subwoofer will change it’s characteristics subtly over the first two weeks of use as the suspension of the cone will
loosen up slightly, producing a trace more warmth to the overall sound texture.
Adjust speaker placement and Bass Volume for the most realistic imaging and tonal balance by listening to several different musical
selections and game or computer sound effects.
For optimum acoustic performance, we recommend that you place your satellite speakers at least 6-8” from rear walls to reduce unwanted
reflections that can muddy your sound. Bass frequencies may be enhanced or exaggerated by placing your subwoofer close to a wall or
corner. Please feel free to experiment with the system’s location to obtain the most pleasing effects.
Edifier couples incredible technology with an amplified subwoofer to generate smooth deep bass, crystal clear highs, and enough power to
ensure that your personal listening experience allows you to hear what you have been missing!
