THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING GENARAY
Genaray’s 5 × 7 RGB LED light is a powerful and versatile
solution for advanced lighting effects with a compact on-
camera light.
Four operating modes offer lighting options for any
situation or effect. Use CCT mode to set a color
temperature that simulates the warmth of a tungsten bulb
or bright sunlight, and everything in between. HIS and
Color Wheel modes let you manually select any color from
the color wheel and adjust its saturation and brightness
levels. And the BL-5X7-RGB is loaded with 10 animated
effects that realistically simulate police car lights or
flashing paparazzi cameras for your videos.
The BL-5X7-RGB light is equipped with Bluetooth that
pairs with your tablet or smartphone the moment you
open Genaray’s RGB mobile app. The mobile app provides
access to even more powerful features, including group
and individual light control, and effects.

MOUNTING THE
LIGHT
MOUNTING TO A TRIPOD
OR LIGHT STAND
Use the 1/4-20 socket on the bottom
of the shoe mount to screw the light
onto a light stand’s stud until secure.
MOUNTING TO A CAMERA
Slide the mounting foot completely
into the camera’s hot shoe. Tighten
the locking wheel until it’s tight,
and the mount is secure.
Slide the battery into the battery
slot until it locks in place.
To remove the battery, slide it out of the slot.
Tip
The battery loses some of its charge
when not in use. If the battery has not
been in use for several months,recharge
the battery before a shoot.

USER INTERFACE
· If you encounter any problems, first try
turning the device off and then on.
· If the problem persists, remove the
battery for 15 seconds, and then restart.
· Go to genaray.com to make sure
you have the most recent firmware
update. If a new firmware version is
available, follow the instructions on
how to download it to your light.
MODE SELECTOR
Press the mode selector to cycle through
the operating modes CCT, HSI, Gel,
and EFX, and the Settings menu.
ADJUSTMENT DIAL
In all operating modes, the
adjustment dial changes the value
of the highlighted parameter.
Press the adjustment dial to
select the adjustable parameters
within each operating mode.

CCT: Adjusts the color temperature in
50 K increments from 2800 to 8000 K.
Intensity: Adjusts the brightness from
0% to 100% in 1% increments.
Hue: Adjusts the hue from 0° to
359° of the color wheel.
Saturation: Controls the saturation of the
hue from 100% to 0% in 1% increments.
Intensity: Adjusts the brightness from
0% to 100% in 1% increments

Gel: Select one of 48 colored gels.
Intensity: Adjusts the brightness from
0% to 100% in 1% increments
EFX MODE
The BL-5X7-RGB is preset with 10
animated lighting effects that can be
accessed from the back panel of the light.
Use the adjustment dial to select
one of the 10 preloaded effects.
Press the adjustment dial to play
the effect. Press the adjustment
dial again to pause the effect.
Each effect’s parameters can be
edited in the Genaray RGB app.

EFFECTS
Color Chase: Scrolls through the
entire color wheel from 0% to
359% on a continuous loop.
Lightning: Simulates lighting
with short bursts of light.
Cop Car: Simulates the flashing
lights of an emergency vehicle.
Paparazzi: Simulates multiple camera
flashes with short bursts of white light.
Strobe: Constant flashing white
light simulates strobe lighting.
Fireworks: Simulates the effect of fireworks
with pulses of color and/or white light.
Pulsing: A steady pulse of light.
Similar to the Strobe effect, but
the light fades on and off.
Explosion: Simulates the light
from explosions with bursts of
light that flash on and fade off.
Television: Simulates the glow from
a television with a constant light and
random color temperature changes.
Fire: Simulates the light of a campfire
or fireplace with a constant light
that randomly fades between a set
range of color temperatures.

The Settings menu lets you set the
parameters for wireless and remote
operation. You can also select the
onscreen language and reset the
light to the factory presets.

G#: Set the group number from 0 to 99.
L#: Set the individual light
number from 0 to 99.
M / S: Set the light to master or slave mode.
Master: All RGB-series lights set
to the same channel and group will
mirror the settings of this light.
Slave: When set to the same channel
and group as the master, the light will
mirror the settings of the master.
None: Turns off Master/Slave mode.
LAG: Selects the onscreen display language.
RFD: Selecting YES and pressing
the adjustment dial resets the
light to the factory presets.
VER: Displays the light’s firmware version.

Genaray RGB-series lights can be
controlled from the RGB app from a
range of approximately 33 feet (10 m).
The RGB app expands the BL-5X7-RGB’s
capabilities with a wider range of operating
modes and editable parameters.

OPERATING MODES VIA THE RGB APP
Dimmer: Sets the brightness of RGB-series
lights set to the same group number. Set
brightness levels globally or individually.
3200K-5600K and 2800K-8000K
Modes: Sets the color temperature
for individual lights or all lights set
to the same group number.
Color Picker: Displays an onscreen
color wheel and cursor that allow
you to manually select a color.
HSI: Provides three sliders to set the hue,
saturation, and intensity of each light,
or all lights set to the same group.
Gels: Select one of 48 color gels for
all lights set to the same group or
each individually numbered light.
Effects: Select one of 10 animated
lighting effects. Each effect’s
parameters can be edited in the app.
