KNIFE JIG ALIGNMENT
FEATURES:
This revolutionary knife jig alignment design will enable you to install knives quickly and
accurately
. This gauge will tightly hold the knife in position, this will allow the operator to
adjust gibs and the cutterhead with both hands. This safety feature eliminates the need to
manipulate the knives while tightening adjustments are being performed.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) (Fig.1) Verify that all 3 points (A, B, C) touch the surface of the cutterhead.
2) Loosen scr
ews and release the cutter knife gib.
3) Set one gauge on each side of the blade as illustrated in Fig.2. Point B (magnet) must
contact with the tip of the knife. Turn head gauge (#2) counter-clockwise, swirl head one
cycle to lift up 1.5mm on the scale. The point B (magnet) will draw up the knife to the
height required on top of the cutterhead surface. Tighten screw (#7) and then proceed to
tighten the knife gauge locking system.
REMARK: The scale between 0 to 1 is about 0.15mm (0.006”) To turn one circle from 0 to 0
is 1.5mm (0.06”).
APPLICATION: Cutterheads with a diameter of 3” to 5” (75 to 125mm). Number of knives:
2 to 4 pcs.
FUNCTION: This knife jig is designed for quick and safe knife replacement. With the
traditional method of knife alignment, a standard setting-measuring tool is used to control
the height of the knife tip over the cutterhead surface. Use one hand to hold the jig and the
other to lock gibs. If a situation where the knife setting system is not equipped with a
spring, you must lift the knife with your hand or raise it with the system available. The
magnetic system will allow your hands to be safely touch free from the tip of the knife and
the swirl head (#2). This procedure will micro-adjust and evenly set the knife to the
required height with a tolerance of 0.05mm (0.002”).
