Hardware Connections
Make sure the LTE3311 is off and follow the steps listed below for the
hardware connections.
1. Install the antennas.
2. SIM CARD: Insert your SIM card to the SIM card slot for the LTE
network access.
3. LAN: Use an Ethernet cable to connect a computer to one of these
ports for initial configuration and/or Internet access.
5
4. POWER: Use the power adaptor provided with your LTE3311 to
connect an appropriate power source to this socket.
5. Push in the power button to turn the power on.
6. USB: Connect the USB device to the LTE3311’s USB port for sharing
files.
Look at the LEDs (lights) on the front panel.
•The POWER light is green when the LTE3311 is receiving power
and functioning properly. It blinks when the LTE3311 is in the
process of starting up.
•The INTERNET light is green when Internet access is available and
it is off when Internet access is unavailable. It blinks when
transmitting data.
•The LTE light is green when the LTE3311 is connected to the LTE
network.
•The 3G/2G light is green when the LTE3311 is connected to the 3G/
2G network. It blinks slowly when the LTE3311 is searching for a
channel.
•The 3G/LTE SIGNAL STRENGTH light displays the 3G/LTE
connection’s signal quality. The LED shows the best signal
quality. The LED shows the medium signal quality. The LED
shows the lowest signal quality.

The WLAN/WPS light stays on and green when the 2.4GHz band
wireless LAN is ready. The light will not turn on if the wireless
connection is not activated. It blinks orange per 0.5 seconds after
you press the WPS button. The process takes up to 2 minutes within
which you can add a WPS-enabled device to the wireless network.
See the User’s Guide for more information.
The PHONE light is green when a SIP account is registered for the
phone port. It blinks green when there is an incoming call or a
telephone connected to the phone port has its receiver off of the
hook. The PHONE light is orange when a SIP account is registered
for an outgoing call and there is a voice message in the
corresponding SIP account. It blinks orange when a telephone
connected to the phone port has its receiver off of the hook and
there is a voice message in the corresponding SIP account. It is off
when the phone port does not have a SIP account registered or the
LTE3311 is not receiving power.
The USB light is green when the LTE3311 has a USB device
installed. It blinks green when the LTE3311 is transmitting and/or
receiving data from routers. It is off when there is no USB device
connected to the LTE3311.
If the POWER light does not turn on during start up, disconnect the LTE3311’s
power, check the connections, wait a few seconds and connect it again. If the
problem persists, you may have a hardware problem and you need to contact your
vendor.

Set Up a Wireless Connection
The LTE3311’s wireless LAN is enabled by default. Use the wireless
SSID (network name) and encryption key on the back panel to manually
add a wireless client to the network. Refer to the User’s Guide if you
wish to use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) instead.
1. Right-click the wireless connection icon in the bottom right of your
computer monitor. Click View Available Wireless Networks.
WiFi SSID: ZyXEL_xxxx (xxxx is the last 4 digits of the
WiFi Key: xxxxxxxxxxxxx (13 random alphanumeric
MAC address)
characters.)
88
2. Select the LTE3311’s SSID name and click Connect (A). The SSID
“SecureWirelessNetwork” is given here as an example.
3. When prompted for a password, enter the (WPA2-PSK) encryption
key from the back panel of the LTE3311 and click Connect.
4. You may have to wait several moments while your computer connects
to the wireless network.
5. You should now be securely connected wirelessly to the LTE3311.

Connect to the Internet
1. Open your browser and go to http://192.168.1.1.
• If your service provider’s LTE login page appears instead of
your default Home page then all you need to do is enter the
login information that you were given and follow the on-
screen instructions. The LTE3311 should then automatically
update itself with the settings that you need to connect to
the Internet.
• If your service provider’s LTE login page does not appear, do
the following:
2. Enter the default username “admin” and password “1234”. Click
Login.
If the login screen does not open, make sure you allow web browser pop-up
windows, JavaScript and Java permissions. Your computer should also be
set to get an IP address automatically from a DHCP server. See your User’s
Guide for more information.
11
3. Change a new password.
4. If the INTERNET light is off, manually configure the Internet
connection. Click Configuration > Network > WAN and then the
Modify icon.
The APN identifies the LTE network to which your LTE Modem connects.
5. Select the Manual radio button to check the APN string and change it
if it is different than what you got from your ISP vendor. Change other
settings on this page also if necessary. Click Apply.
1212
6. Wait for the INTERNET light to turn on and then try browsing to a
website.
• For more information see the WAN section in the Users Guide.
• To configure wireless access, go to Configuration > Network >
Wireless LAN.
13
• To set up WPS using the Web Configurator, go to Configuration >
Network > Wireless LAN > WPS.
Using the Wizard
You can use the wizard to quickly configure your login password, time
zone, the WAN and WLAN settings.
1. Click the Wizard icon at the top-right corner of the screen.
2. The Setup Wizard screen displays. Click Next.
1414
3. The system automatically detects your time zone. If the result is not
correct, press Detect Again or select a proper one manually. Click
Next.
4. Select the Country and the Service Provider, and the corresponding
APN name will display in the APN Name field. If the field displays
wrong name, specify the right APN name in the APN Name field.
Click Next.
15
5. Configure the wireless LAN settings and then click Next.
6. Configure the wireless security settings and then click Next.
1616
7. Review the summary of all the settings you just configured and click
Apply Settings to save the changes to the system.
The system will restart itself. Wait for a few seconds to get the system
ready before you can access it again or surf the Internet.
