Note:

For nonchase installation see column 3.

1. Construct the chase as illustrated in

Figure 1.

Note:

The shortest vertical

side must be at least 30 inches high and

the minimum inside dimension must be

at least 17

/2".

2. Add the pipe sections to the chimney

system as outlined in the fireplace in-

stallation instructions until the last piece

of the chimney is a maximum of 17" be-

low the top of the chase (see Figure 1).

3. Fabricate a flashing having an 13

/4"

diameter hole centered over the chim-

ney end with a 2" collar around the hole

(see Figure 2). Attach noncombustible

spacers at each corner and place the

flashing over the chase.

4. Secure the flashing through the sides

with 8-penny nails or sheet rock screws.

5. Place the termination cap over the

opening and slip the 8" stainless steel

inner pipe into the stainless steel chim-

ney section and the galvanized sleeve

over the chimney outlet. Lower the ter-

mination cap until its tabs rest on the

flashing collar. Bend the tabs down and

secure them with sheet metal screws.

10' RULE

The chimney flue gas outlet of the termina-

tion must be a minimum distance of 3 feet

above the highest point where the pipe pen-

etrates the roof and must be a minimum

distance of 2 feet above the highest point of

the roof within a horizontal distance of 10

feet (see Figure 5).

NONCHASE INSTALLATION

1. Slip on the proper pitch roof flashing

and mount the storm collar above it.

Caulk the top of the storm collar where

it contacts the outer chimney pipe.

2. Mount the round top termination and

secure it with 3 sheet metal screws to

the outer chimney pipe.
