II. NEW COMPONENT INSTALLATION
1. Thread new power leads and ground wire of provided wire set
(p/n 507281) through channel of upper grid casting, then
through hinge and rigid conduit:
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram for wire numbers.
a. For WB-1, cut push-on terminal from controller-end of wire
#5 (it will not pass through the 90º conduit otherwise.)
b. Be sure power leads are threaded through rubber sleeving
and ground lead threads through glass sleeve (sleeving
salvaged from part I).
c. For WB-1, strip 3/16" of insulation from controller-end of
wire #5. Crimp provided terminal (p/n 52926) to wire #5.
d. Connect wiring and reassemble upper grid using a new
grid gasket (p/n 50337).
2. Thread new sensor (p/n 507279) and wire set (p/n 507282)
through forward hole in cabinet base mounting, such that
terminal ends are inside of cabinet. Thread power leads and
sensor head through large hole in new gasket, (p/n 50338),
then through cutout in bottom of base casting.
3. Securely attach sensor head to either boss on back of grid.
4. Assemble controller (p/n 507278) to controller mounting
bracket (p/n 507482).
5. Reassemble lower grid and new controller to cabinet:
a. Loosely attach base casting and gasket to cabinet.
b. Attach controller and mounting bracket, inside of cabinet,
by the two rearmost base screws. Be sure controller is
accessible from the rear.
c. Be sure base and gasket are properly positioned, then
tighten base screws.
6. Install power cord and strain relief (salvaged from part I) into
new back panel (p/n 507478 or 507479).
7. Assemble tether (from wire set 507282) to hole plug (61064).
From cabinet exterior side, pull tether through access hole in
back panel. Secure ground leads from hole plug and power
cord to mounting stud.
NOTE: For WB-2, when upgrading one side only, insert hole
plug (without tether) in unused access hole, then bend two
opposing prongs outward to secure.
8. Refer to appropriate wiring diagram to complete wiring:
a. For 120V units, use supplied twin connector (p/n 507355)
to connect wires #3 & #4 to controller output module.
b. For 208/240V units, use supplied coupling (p/n 50407) to
connect wires #4 & #5 together.
c. Upper grid ground wire connects to stud at entry to hinge
conduit.
9. Re-install bottom panel. Apply provided wiring diagram decal
to inside of new back panel, then install back panel.
10. Connect unit to electric power and test for proper operation.

III. CHECK BAKING TEMPERATURE
1. Use a digital thermometer with an oven probe.
2. Place the probe on the lower grid, then gently close the upper
grid.
3. Press the power switch "ON". Wait 15 minutes for the waffle
baker to come up to heat, and for the temperature to stabilize.
4. Read the temperature on the digital thermometer.
IV. ADJUST TEMPERATURE
IMPORTANT:
Controllers are factory set (and calibration sealed) at 390ºF ±5ºF
(200ºC ± 3ºC) and do not normally require adjustment. Adjusting
the controller will break the calibration seal.
1. Pry round hole plug from back of that side of the waffle baker.
DO NOT disconnect grounding tether from the hole plug.
2. Use a thin flat-blade screwdriver to turn the temperature
adjustment dial. Rotate clockwise to increase temperature;
counter-clockwise to decrease temperature.
NOTE: Make small incremental changes only.
3. Allow at least 3 minutes for temperature to stabilize before
making another adjustment.
4. When desired temperature is reached reinstall hole plug.
CAUTION:
BURN HAZARD
Exposed surfaces of the waffle
baker may be hot to the touch and
can cause burns. Waffle baker grids
are very hot and will cause serious
burns on contact.
CAUTION:
SHOCK HAZARD
Disconnect appliance from electric
power before removing access plug.
Reconnect power only after plug
has been reinstalled.
Proper temperature for baking
waffles is 390ºF (200ºC).
Variations in altitude and/or batter
mix may require a slightly different
temperature for best results.
