Before using your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO for the first time, you must charge
it continuously for approximately 10 hours, until the red indicator light turns off. Please
refer to the “Charging the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO” section of this manual.
Introduction
The BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO is a flat panel speaker that is an accessory
for our various BLUETREK® headsets based on Bluetooth® technology. Please refer to the
front of the pack for compatible BLUETREK® headsets.
The BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO has 7 buttons:
TALK” button (main button)
VOL+” button
VOL-“ button
“MUTE” button
Redial or Reject” button or calling the first stored number
“Headset charging button or calling the second stored number
“LED ON/OFF” button or calling the third stored number

Using your BLUETREK® headset with BLUETREK® SURFACE
SOUND DUO
1. Ensure your headset is paired and connected with your Bluetooth® mobile phone
(please refer to the headset Quick Start Guide).
2. Insert your headset into the socket of the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO as shown
in Diagram 1. (For some headsets, you may need to remove the earhook before
inserting into the socket.)
Note: To switch on or off the connected headset on the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO,
press and hold the TALK button on the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO for 3 seconds.
(When switching on the headset, you may need to wait for a few seconds until the
connection between the mobile phone and the headset is re-established. )

Mounting on the sun visor
When using your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO in your car, simply mount the
unit onto the visor with the clip as shown in Diagram 2.

Using as a speaker
This product is fully portable and can be used in different places as a speaker , such as
office or home.
Simply rotate the microphone arm backwards as shown in Diagram 3 so that it stands.

Charging the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO

Connect the charging cable to the car charger and insert the car charger into the
cigarette lighter socket as shown in Diagram 4.

While charging, the indicator light on the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO should be red.
The indicator light will turn off when the unit is fully charged. Subsequent charges should
take approximately 4 hours.
When the indicator light on your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO flashes in red at regular
intervals, the unit needs to be recharged.
You can also connect the charging cable to a USB socket.

Important:
· If your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO is fully charged, the red indicator light will not
turn on when plugged into the charger.
· To maximize battery lifetime, you should recharge your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO
to full capacity only when the battery is low, because the battery has a lifetime of
approximately 500 charging cycles.
· If you leave your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO on with battery empty for an
extended period of time, it is recommended that you first switch off the BLUETREK®
SURFACE SOUND DUO before charging and charges it for 3 hours or more until it is
completely recharged. When you first charge the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO
after prolonged storage, the red indicator light might not turn on until after a few
minutes.
· Do not charge your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO for more than 24 hours.
· The use of any other charger will automatically void the warranty, it is strictly
forbidden and can be unsafe.

Charging the headset from your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND
DUO
If the battery level of your BLUETREK® headset is low, the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO
will charge it automatically until it is fully charged, providing that your BLUETREK® SURFACE
SOUND DUO is charged and switched on.
The red indicator light on the headset will be switched on while charging, and it will be
switched off when the headset is fully charged.
You can also manually charge the headset by pressing once on the button as shown in
Diagram 6 when there is no active call. A beep can be heard after pressing the button.
To stop charging the headset, press the button on your BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND
DUO once.

Making a call
. Make sure the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO and the BLUETREK® headset are in
standby mode.
. Dial a number from your mobile phone. The audio connection will be established after
approximately 2 seconds.
Make a call to one of the numbers stored in your headset
Press and hold for 2 seconds until you hear a beep on the , or button respectively
to make a call to the stored number in Position 1, Position 2 and Position 3 which is stored
in your headset. (To store these numbers, please refer to the section on “Storing your
favourite numbers” in your headset user manual).
This function may not be available, depending on your headset.
Answering a call
When the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO rings, press the TALK button once to take
the call.
Ending a call
Press the TALK button once to end an active call.
Adjusting the volume
To increase the volume during an active call, press the VOL+” button on the BLUETREK®
SURFACE SOUND DUO.
To decrease the volume during an active call, press the VOL-“ button on the BLUETREK®
SURFACE SOUND DUO.

Muting the microphone
To mute the microphone during an active call
During an active call, press the button (MUTE button) once as shown the Diagram 10.
An red light will indicate that the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO is in “MUTE” mode:
you will be able to hear the other party but they will not be able to hear you.
To end the mute function
When the microphone is muted, press once on the button (MUTE button).

Call waiting
When you hear a call waiting alert while you are on a call, press the TALK button on
the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO for approximately 3 seconds to accept the second
call and place the current call on hold.
To switch between an active call and a held call, press the TALK button on the BLUETREK®
SURFACE SOUND DUO for approximately 3 seconds.
To end the active call and take the held call, press the TALK button once on the BLUETREK®
SURFACE SOUND DUO.
This function may not be available, depending on your phone. However, you can always
answer the second call via your phone keypad.
Transferring a call from the BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND DUO
to your BLUETREK® headset
During an active call, simply remove the headset from the socket of the BLUETREK®
SURFACE SOUND DUO.
During an active call, insert your headset into the socket of BLUETREK® SURFACE SOUND
DUO.
