About the ThinkPad External Battery Charger

The ThinkPad External Battery Charger provides a slot to hold your battery

and allow easy attachment of the charging connector and cable. You can use

the charger option for charging ThinkPad Z series computer batteries.

Note: For other ThinkPads, contact your authorized dealer or marketing

representative to determine if the batteries for those models can be used

with this charger.

The charger has indicators that show the charging status. To use the charger,

you need a ThinkPad AC adapter.

This package includes the following items:

Hardware identification

The following illustration shows the components of the charger hardware.

1The power jack is where the AC adapter is connected.

2The power indicator turns green (on) when you connect the AC adapter to

the charger.

3 The connector is for connecting the battery to the charger. The battery

status indicators 4, 5 show the charging status of the battery when

connected to the charge connector 3.

The indicators behavior is as follows:

v 4 Charging indicator

– Fast Blinking Orange: The battery has less than 5% charge.

– Slow Blinking Orange: The battery has between 5% and 20% charge.

– Slow Blinking Green:The battery has greater than 20% charge.

– Solid Green:The battery has greater than 80% charge.

5 Full Charge Indicator

– Off: Less than 100% charge.

– On: Fully charged 100%

Using the charger option

To connect the charger option to the battery pack, do the following:

1. Connect the AC adapter for your ThinkPad computer to the power jack on

the charger.

2. Place the connector of the charger on to the battery connector as shown.

Attention: When you connect the charger connector to the battery pack, do

not push it down too far. Otherwise, the connector will not make contact with

the battery connector.

Power cords and power adapters

Use only the power cords and power adapters supplied by the product

manufacturer. The power cord and power adapter are intended for use with

this product only. They should never be used with any other product.

Batteries

Batteries supplied by Lenovo for use with your product have been tested for

compatibility and should only be replaced with approved parts.

About the ThinkPad External Battery Charger 1-3

A battery pack other than the one specified by Lenovo, or a disassembled or

modified battery pack is not covered by the warranty.

Identification du matériel

1 Prise d’alimentation dans laquelle brancher le boîtier d’alimentation.

2 Voyant d’alimentation qui devient vert lorsque vous branchez le boîtier

d’alimentation au chargeur.

3 Connecteur pour brancher la batterie au chargeur. Les voyants de charge

de la batterie (4 et 5) indiquent la charge de la batterie une fois qu’elle est

branchée à ce connecteur.

Les voyants fonctionnent de la manière suivante :

v 4 Voyant de charge

– Clignotement orange rapide : La batterie est chargée à moins de 5 %.

– Clignotement orange lent : La batterie est chargée de 5 % à 20 %.

– Clignotement vert lent : La batterie est chargée à plus de 20 %.

– Vert (fixe) : La batterie est chargée à plus de 80 %.

– Eteint : La batterie n’est pas chargée à 100 %.

– Allumé : La batterie est complètement chargée.

Utilisation du chargeur

Pour connecter le chargeur au bloc de batteries, procédez comme suit :

1. Branchez le boîtier d’alimentation du ThinkPad à la prise d’alimentation du

chargeur.

2. Positionnez le connecteur du chargeur sur le connecteur de la batterie,

comme indiqué ci-après.

Avertissement : Lorsque vous branchez le connecteur du chargeur au bloc de

batteries, ne l’insérez pas trop profondément ; sinon, le connecteur du chargeur

pourrait ne pas être en contact avec le connecteur de la batterie.

Cordons et adaptateurs d’alimentation

Utilisez uniquement les cordons et les adaptateurs d’alimentation fournis par le

fabricant du produit. Le cordon et l’adaptateur d’alimentation sont conçus

pour être utilisés uniquement avec ce produit. Ils ne doivent jamais être utilisés

avec d’autres produits.

Beschreibung der Hardware

In der folgenden Abbildung sind die Komponenten des Akkuladegeräts darge-

stellt.

1 Das Netzteil wird an den Netzteilanschluss angeschlossen.

2 Die Betriebsanzeige leuchtet grün auf (Ein), wenn Sie das Netzteil an das

Akkuladegerät anschließen.

3 Der Anschluss dient zum Anschließen des Akkus an das Ladegerät. Die

Anzeiger für den Akkuladezustand (4, 5) zeigen den Akkuladezustand an,

wenn der Akku an den Ladeanschluss (3) angeschlossen ist.

Die Anzeiger verhalten sich folgendermaßen:

v 4 Ladeanzeige

– Blinkt schnell, orange: Der Akku ist zu weniger als 5 % aufgeladen.

– Blinkt langsam, orange: Der Akku ist zu 5 bis 20 % aufgeladen.

– Blinkt langsam, grün: Der Akku ist zu über 20 % aufgeladen.

– Leuchtet durchgehend, grün: Der Akku ist zu über 80 % aufgeladen.

Akkuladegerät verwenden

Gehen Sie wie folgt vor, um das Akkuladegerät an den Akkusatz anzuschlie-

ßen:

1. Schließen Sie das Netzteil des ThinkPads an den Netzteilanschluss am

Akkuladegerät an.

2. Verbinden Sie den Anschluss des Akkuladegeräts wie in der Abbildung

dargestellt mit dem Akkuanschluss.

Batterien und Akkus

Batterien und Akkus, die im Lieferumfang des Lenovo Produkts enthalten

sind, wurden auf Kompatibilität getestet und sollten nur durch gleichartige

Batterien und Akkus ersetzt werden.

Identificazione hardware

La seguente illustrazione mostra i componenti dell’hardware del caricabatterie.

1 La presa di alimentazione a cui è collegato l’adattatore CA.

2 L’indicatore di alimentazione diventa verde (On) quando si collega

l’adattatore CA al caricabatterie.

3 Il connettore serve a collegare la batteria al caricabatterie. Gli indicatori di

stato della batteria 4, 5 mostrano lo stato di ricarica della batteria collegata

ai connettori di carica 3.

Il funzionamento degli indicatori è il seguente:

Utilizzo dell’opzione caricabatterie

Per collegare l’opzione caricabatterie al gruppo batteria, attenersi alla seguente

procedura:

1. Collegare l’adattatore CA per il computer ThinkPad alla presa di

alimentazione sul caricabatterie.

2. Posizionare il connettore del caricabatterie sul connettore batteria, come

illustrato.
