1. Safety Rules

Safe Operation Practices for Ride-On Mowers

IMPORTANT: THIS CUFFING MACHINE IS CAPABLE OF AMPUTATING HANDS AND FEET AND THROWING OBJECTS. FAILURE

TO OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

Readtheinstructionscarafully.Befamiliarwiththecontrols

and theproperuseoftheequipment.

• Neverallowchildrenorpeopleunfamiliarwiththeinstruc-

tionstousethelawnmower.Localregulationsmayrestrict

theage ofthe operator.

• Nevermowwhilepeople,especiallychildren,orpetsare

nearby.

• Keepinmindthattheoperatoror userisresponsiblefor

accidentsor hazards occurringto otherpeopleor their

property.

• Do notcarrypassengers.

Alldriversshouldseekand obtainprofessionalandprac-

ticalinstruction.Suchinstructionshouldemphasize:

- the need for care and concentration whenworking

withride-onmachines;

- controlofa ride-onmachinesliding on a slopewill

not beregainedbythe applicationofthebrake.

The mainreasonsfor lossofcontrolare:

a) insufficient wheelgrip;

b) being driventoofast;

c) inadequatebraking;

d) thetypeofmachineisunsuitablefor itstask;

e) lack of awareness of the effect of ground

conditions,especially slopes;

f) incorrect hitching and load distribution.

I1.Preparation

• While mowing,always wear substanti_ _twearandlong

trousers. Do not operate the equiprr when barefoot

or wearing open sandals.

• Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to

be usedand remove all objects which may be thrown by

the machine.

• WARNING - Petrol is highly flammable.

- Store fuel in containers specifically designed for this

purpose.

- Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while refu-

eling.

- Add fuel before starting the engine. Never remove

the cap of the fuel tank or add petrol while the engine

is running or when the engine is hot.

- If petrol is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine

but move the machine away from the area ofspillage

and avoid creating any source of ignition untilpetrol

vapors have dissipated.

Replace all fuel tanks and container caps securely.

Replace faulty silencers.

Before using, always visually inspect to see that the

blades, blade bolts and cutter assembly are not worn or

damaged. Replace worn or damaged blades and bolts

in sets to preserve balance.

On multi-bladedmachines, take careas rotatingone blade

can cause other blades to rotate.

IlL Operation

• Do not operate the engine in a confined space where

dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can collect.

, Mow only in daylight or in good artificial light.

• Before attempting tostart the engine, disengage all blade

attachment clutches and shift into neutral.

• Do not use on slopes of more than 5°.

• Remember thera isno suchthingas a"safe" slope. Travel

ongrass slopes requiresparticular care. Toguard against

overturning;

- do notstopor start suddenly when going up ordown-

hill;

- engage clutch slowly, always keep machine in gear,

especially when traveling downhill;

- machine speeds should be kept low on slopes and

during tight turns;

- stay alert for humps and hollows and other hidden

hazards;

- never mow across the face of the slope, unless the

lawnmower is designed forthis purpose.

• Use care when pulling loads or usingheavy equipment.

- Use only approved drawbar hitch points.

- Limit loads to those you can safely control.

- Do not turn sharply. Use care when reversing.

- Use counterweight(s) or wheel weights when sug-

gested in the instruction handbook.

Watch out for traffic when crossing or near roadways.

• Stop the blades from rotating before crossing surfaces

other than grass.

When using any attachments, never direct discharge of

material towardbystandere nor allow anyone near the

machine while in operation.

Never operate the lawnmower with defective guards,

shields or without safety protective devices in place.

Do not change the engine governor settings or overspeed

the engine. Operating the engine at excessive speed may

increase the hazard of personal injury.

• Before leaving the operator's position:

- disengage the power take-off and lower the attach-

ments;

- change into neutral and set the parking brake;

- stop the engine and remove the key.

• Disengage drive to attachments, stop the engine, and

disconnect the spark plug wire(s) c" remove the ignition

key

- before cleaning blockages or unclogging chute;

- before checking, cleaning or working on the lawn-

mower;

- after strikinga foreign ob ect. Inspect the lawnmower

for damage and make repairs before restarting and

operating the equipment;

- if the machine starts to vibrate abnormally (check

immediately).

• Disengage driveto attachments when transporting or not

in use.

Stopthe engineand disengage driveto attachment

- beforerefueling;

beforeremovingthegrasscatcher;

- beforemakingheight adjustmentunlessadjustment

can bemadefrom theoperator'sposition.

Reducethethrottlesettingduringenginerun-outand, if

the engineisprovidedwitha shut-offvalve,turnthefuel

offat theconclusionofmowing.

IV. Maintenance and Storage

Keepallnuts,boltsandscrewstighttobesuretheequip-

mentisin safeworkingcondition.

Neverstorethe equipmentwithpetrolin thetankinside

a building where fumes may reach an open flame or

spark.

Allow the engine to coolbefore storingin any enclo-

sure.

To reduce the fire hazard, keep the engine, silencer, bat-

tery compartment and petrol storage area free of grass,

leaves, or excessive grease.

Check the grass catcher frequently for wear or dete-

rioration.

Replacewornordamagedpartsfor safety.

if the fuel tank hasto be drained,this shouldbe done

outdoors.

Onmulti-bladedmachines,takecareasrotatingoneblade

can cause other blades to rotate.

When machine isto be parked, stored or left unattended,

lower the cuttingmeans unless a positive mechanical lock

is used.

_ WARNING: Always disconnect spark plug wire and

place wire where it cannot contact spark plug in

order to prevent accidental starting when setting

up, transporting, adjusting or making repairs.

sembled, which for transportation reasons are enclosed in

the packing,

_). STEERING WHEEL

Mount extension shaft (1).

• Mount the main shaft cover. Make sure that the guide

tabs in the cover fitthe cover in respective holes.

• Remove steering wheel adapter from steering wheel and

slide adapter onto steering shaft. Check that the front

wheels are aligned forward and place the wheel on the

hub.

Assemble large fiat washer, Iockwasher and 5/16 hex

bolt. Tighten securely.

• Snap insert into center of steering wheel.

• Nehmen Sie den Lenkradadapter vom Lenkrad ab und

echieben Sie diesen auf die Lenks&ulenverl_.ngerung

auf. Pr_3fen,dab die Vorderr&der gerade stehen, und

das Lenkrad auf der Nabe anbringen.

• Die grof:JeUnterlegecheibe, den Federing und die 5/16

Zoll Sechskantschraube montieren. Sicher festziehen.

• Den Einsatz in die Mitte des Lenkrades eindr_3cken

Seat

Remove the hardware securing seat to the cardboard packing

and set the hardware aside for assembly of seat totractor.

Pivot seat upward and remove from cardboard packing. Re-

move the cardboard packing and discard.

Place seat onseat pan so head ofshoulder bolt ispositioned

over large slotted hole in pan (1).

Push down on seat to engage shoulder bolt in slot and pull

seat towards rear of tractor.

The seat is ad ustable for individual setting in relation to the

cutch and brake pedal. Set the seat to the correct position

by moving itforwards or backwards. Tighten the adjustment

bolt securely (2).

_) Sitz

Entnehmen Sie die Teile, mit denen der Sitz an der Karton-

_Agoe befestigt ist. Bewahren Sie diese Teile auf, da sie f_r die

ntage des Sitzes am Traktor noch ben6tigt werden.

Kippen Sie den Sitz nun nach oben, und nehmen Sie ihn aus

der Kartonage. Enffernen Sie die restlichen Verpeckungsteile

und entsorgen Sie diese.

Der Sitz wird so auf die Sitzplatte plaziert, dass ,.!_h der

Hauptbolzen Ober dem Schlitz in der Platte befinde_._; i.

Sitz herunterdrOoken, so dass der Bolzen in den Sct_II_;,.ein-

rastet und dann den Sitz nach hinten ziehen.

Der Sitz ist pers6nlich im Verh_ltnis zum Kupplunys- bzw.

Retirer le bouton de r6glage et la rondelle plate qui fixent le

si_ge & I'emballage de carton, le conserver pour le montage

du si_ge sur le tracteur.

Basculer le si_ge vers le haut et le sortir de I'emballage de

carton. Se debarrasser ensuite de I'emballage.

Placer le si_ge sur son embase de fa_on que la t6te de la vis

epaulement se place dans le trou & I'extr6mit_ de la large

fente de rembase (1).

Pousserle siL,ge vers le bas pourengager la vis &6paulement

dans lafente puis repousser lesiL=gevers I'ard_redu tracteur.

La position du si_ge seul, par rapport ti la position de la p6-

dale de frein et d'embrayage, est r6glable. Rechercher une

position assise correcte en d6plagant lesi_ge vers ravant ou

vers I'arri_re. Serrer ensuite _,fond la vis de r6glage (2).

El asiento es ajustable individualmente en relaci6n a los

pedales del embrague y de freno. Ajustar el asiento en la

posici6n correcta desplazdndolo hacia adelante o atr_.s.

Sedile

Rimuovere i dispositivi di fissaggio che fissano il sedile

sull'imballaggio di cartone e mettere da parte i dispositividi

fissaggio per assemblare il sedile sultrattore.

Muovere ilsedile verso I'alto e rimuoverlo dall'imballaggio di

cartone. Rimuovere ed eliminare l'imballaggio di cartone.

Posizionare ilsedile sulla relativa scocca in modo tale che il

bullone nella porte superiore dello spallamento si posizioni

sopra ilforo grande posto sul fondo. (1).

Premere sul sedile per inserire it bullone dello spallamento

nella fessura e tirare il sedile verso il retro del trattore.

(_11 sedile _ regolabile. Regolare il sedile fino ad assumere la

posizione pie comoda, spostandolo avanti oindietro. Stringere

la vite di regolanzione (2).

Zitting

Druk op de stoel totdat de borstbout in de sieur past en trek

de stoel vervolgens naar de achterzijde van de tractor.

De zitting is verstelbaar voor de individuele instelling in

verhoudingtot de koppeiings- resp.rempedaal. Stel de zizting

m de juiste zitpositie door deze naar voor en naar achter te

schuiven. Haal de stelschroef aan.

TO ADJUST GAUGE WHEELS

Gauge wheels are properly adjusted when they are slightly

off the ground when mower isat the desired cutting height in

operating position.Gauge wheels then keep the deck inproper

position to help prevent scalping in most terrain conditions.

• Adjust gauge wheels with tractor on a flat level surface.

• Adjust mower to desired cutting height.

With mower indesired heightofcut position,gauge wheels

should be assembled so they are slightlyoff the ground.

Installgauge wheel inappropriate hole withshoulder bolt,

3/8 washer, and 3/8-16 Iocknut and tighten securely.

Repeat foropposite side installing gauge wheel in same

adjustment hole.

To Assemble Bagger

NOTE: For ease of assembly, you may wish to obtain the

assistance of another person when putting the bagger to-

gether.

• Holes in front ba_]ger tube are at an angle. Place front

bagger tube against lower bagger tube and check for

proper hole alignment before assembling baits.

Assemble front and lower bagger tubes using four (4)

1/4 x 50,8ram carriage bolts and lock nuts supplied.

Tighten securely.

• Slide front and lower bagger tube assembly intothe bag-

ger assemby,

• Assemble front and upper bagger tubes using four (4)

1/4 x 50,8mm carraige bolts and lock nuts supplied.

Tighten securely.

• Slip all the vinyl bindings over the bagger tubes

• Slide the bagger dump handle through the hole in the

bagger top, install the clevis pin and secure with retainer

spring.

• Push cap over end of bagger dump handle.

NOTE: Forfuture use, the clevis pin may be removed in order

to use the handle toclear the chute inthe event ithas become

clogged.

Bagger adjustment

For proper bag function and appearance, it may be neces-

sary to adjust the bagger assembly, There should be 6ram

(1/4")ogmm (3/8") gapbetween the bagger topand fender and

the bagger top surface should be even with the top surface

of the fender. To adjust bagger position:

Horizontal adjustment

Slightly loosenthenutssecuringthe baggerRH and LH

horizontaladustmentbrackets,Loosenonlyenoughso

the bracketskeep theirposlion, but a low them to be

moved.

Move the brackets the amount forward or backward you

wish the bag assembly to move. Retighten the nuts se-

curely.

Vertical adjustment

Slightly loosen the nuts securing the vertical adjustment

brackets. Loosen only enough so the brackets keep their

position, but allow them to be moved.

Move the brackets the a'nount up or down you wish the

bag assembly to move. 'tetighten the nuts securely.

Reinstall the bagger as_,embly and check the bagger to

fender fit. If necessary, repeat the procedure until proper

fit is attained.

La palanca tiene cuatro posicienes:

N = Punto neutro (desacoplada)

S = Marcha lenta

F = Marcha rdpida

R = Marcha atr_s

La palanca puede desplazarse en forma progresiva entre

S y F para obtener la velocidad deseada,

La leva ha quattro posizieni:

N = Folla (nessuna trazione)

S = Avanzamento lento

F = Avanzamento veloce

R = Retromarcia

5. Connection/disconnecUon of the cutting unit

Move the lever forward to connect the drive to the cutting

unit,whereby the drive beltistensioned and the blades begin

to rotate. If the lever is moved backwards the drive willbe

disconnected and the rotation of the blades slowed down by

the action ofthe brake shoes on the pulley.

(_) 5. Ein- und Ausschalten des Miihaggregats

Den Hebel nach vorn f_hren, um den Antrieb des M&hers

ein-zukuppeln. Dabei wird der Antriebsdernen gespannt

und die Riernen beginnen sich zu drehen. Wenn tier Hebel

zur_ckge-zogen wird, wird der Antrieb ausgekuppelt und

die Drehung der Klingen wird dutch an die Riemenrollen

angesetzte Brernskl_t-ze gebremst.

Premere in avanti la leva per awiare iltagliaerba. La cinghia

entre intensioneele lame comincianoa girare.Tirando indietro

lalevailtagliaerba viene disinse ritoele lame vengono frenate

dalle ganasce dei freni che agiscono contro la puleggia.

Breng de hendel naar voren om de aandrijving van de maai-

kast te koppelen. Daarbij wordt de aandrijfriem gesteld en de

messen beginnen te roteren. Wordt de handel near achteren

gebracht, wordt tegelijksrtijd de rotatie van de messen afger-

emd, doordat de remblokken tegen de poelie Iopen.

6. Quick lifting/lowering of the cutting unit

Pull the lever backwards to quickly lift the cutting unit when

passing over irregularities in the lawn, etc. During transpor-

tation the cutting unit shall be in the highest position. Pull

the lever back until it locks. To lower the unit: Pull the lever

backwards (1). Push in the button (2) and then move the

lever forward (3).

Den Hebel zurQckziehen, urndas M_haggregat schnell beider

Fahrt Qber z,B. unebene Stellen des Rasens anzuheben. Bei

Transportfahrt soildes M&haggregat inder hSchsten Stellung

stehen. Den Hebel zur_ckziehen, bis dieser gesperrt wird.

Senken des Aggregats: Hebel zurQckziehen (1). Knopf (2)

drQcken und danach den Hebel (3) nach vorn fehren.

Tirer sur le leviervers I'arri_re (1) pour relever rapidement le

carter de coupe Iors du passage sur une surface accident_e.

Pour le transport, le carter de coupe dolt _tre dans sa position

la plus dlevde (relevd au maximum). Pour cela, tirer le levier

vers rarri_re usqu'& sa butte. Pour abaisser le carter de

coupe, tirer Idg_rement lelevier vers rarr _re (1) pus enfoncer

le bouton poussoir (2) situd sur le dessus du levier, ramener

ensuite le levier vers ravant (3) en maintenant la pression

sur le bouton poussoir.

=_ 6. Elevaci6n/descenso rdpidos del equipo de

corte

Tire de la palanca hacia atrds para levantar rdpidarnente el

equipo de corte al pasar sobre irregularidades del terreno,

etc. AI transportar la mdquina, el equip _de corte ha de ester

en la posici6n m_.saita.Tire de la pale ice hacia atrds haste

que se bloquee. Para descender el equ po de corte:Tire de la

palanca hacia atrds (1). Apriete el boton (2) y Ileve despu_s

la palanca hacia ade]ante (3).

(_ 6. Sollevamento/abbassamento del tagliaerba

Persollevareiltagliaerba quando sia necessario,tirare indietro

la leva. Incaso di trasporto iltagliaerba dave essere soltevato.

Per abbassare iltagliaerba:Tirare indietro la leva(l). Premere

il pulsante (2) e portare poi la lava in avanti (3).

(_ 6. Snelle verhoging/verlaging van maaikast

Breng de hendel naar achteren om de maaikast snel te doen

verhogen bij het passeren van oneffenheden inhat gazon. Bij

transport dient de rnaaikast in zijn hoogste stand testaan. Zet

de hendel achteruit, totdat deze vergrendeld is. Orn de kast

te doen verlagen: Zet de hendel achteruit (1). Druk de knop

in (2) en breng daarna de handel naar voren (3),

OFF ON START

7. Ignition Lock

There are three different positions for the ignition key:

OFF All electric current broken.

ON Electric current connected.

START Start motor connected.

WARNINGI

Never leave the key in the ignition lock when leaving the

machine on its own.

Si abandona la rndquina sin vigUancia,no deje nunca la nave

en la cerradura.

La chiave ha tre posizioni:

ON Affivazione del cisrcuito elettrico

START Inserimento del motorino di awiamento.

Prima di lasciare la macchina, togliere sernpre la chiave.

De sleutel voor her stuurslot/contact kan in drie standen

worden gezet:

OFF Alle elektrische stroom uitgeschakeld

ON De elektrische stroom ingeschakeld

START Startmotor ingeschakeld

WAARSCHUWING!

Laat nooitde sleutelin hetcontactzitten, wanneer de machine

zonder toezicht wordt achtergelaten.
