1 Function and application

The PURITY Finest 600/1200 ﬁltrate helps to produce the unique coffee aroma –

especially in espressos – and allows the body of the coffee to develop. The characteristics

of the coffee crema are experienced in their full intensity.

The PURITY Finest ﬁlter systems reduce the total hardness in drinking water, thereby pre-

venting limescale and gypsum deposits in the downstream appliance.

Calcium, magnesium and metal ions can be removed from the drinking water during the

ﬂow process.

Additionally, the ﬁlter material not only reduces turbidity and organic pollutants, but also

the level of substances that can impair taste and odour, such as chlorine residues.

Typical applications for PURITY Finest 600/1200 include coffee machines, espresso

machines and hot drink machines in drinking water areas with a high level of gypsum

hardness.

Caution: The system is not suitable for use in combi ovens and conventional ovens.

2 Liability exclusion

The ﬁlter must be replaced exactly in accordance with the information in these replace-

ment instructions. BRITA assumes no liability for any damage, including consequential

damage, arising from incorrect use of the product.

3 Product-speciﬁc safety information

Note for people with kidney disease or dialysis patients: during the ﬁlter process, the

potassium content may be increased slightly. If you suffer from kidney disease and/or

have to stick to a special potassium diet, we recommend prior agreement with your doctor.

4 Filter capacity

The stated capacities are guide values that may vary by +/– 10 % depending on the

product volume ﬂow and also on the machine types.

You will ﬁnd out how to enter parameters on the display unit in the PURITY Quell ST manual.

5 Commissioning and replacing the ﬁlter

Caution: Filter replacement and maintenance of the ﬁlter system may be carried out

only by specialist staff.

Caution: The PURITY replacement cartridge may only be used in combination with

the pressure vessel that has been speciﬁcally designed for its size. See page 2.

Before commissioning or replacing the ﬁlter, please read the manual for the PURITY Quell ST

ﬁlter system. There you will ﬁnd detailed information on operating and safety notes,

maintenance, troubleshooting and technical data.

The ﬁlter cartridge must be replaced after 6–12 months and no later than 12 months after

commissioning regardless of the level of exhaustion of the ﬁlter system. If the capacity of

the ﬁlter cartridge has already been exhausted, it must be replaced earlier.

6 Operating position and ﬁlter ﬂushing

Caution: The BRITA PURITY Finest 600/1200 water ﬁlter systems must only be

operated in an upright position.

However, when commissioning, always ﬂush the ﬁlter in a lying, then standing position.

You will ﬁnd instructions on how to ﬂush the system in the PURITY Quell ST manual.
