product from SilverCrest, which, in terms of technology and functionality, meets
the most up-to-date development standards.

Information for these operating instructions
These operating instructions are a component of the Loudspeaker System KH 2525
(henceforth designated as the device) and supplies you with important information
for intended use, safety, installation and connection as well as operation of the device.
The operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the device.
They are to be read and used by anyone assigned to install, service and repair
faults in the device.
Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the device to any future
owners.

In this chapter you receive important safety information regarding handling of the
device.
This device complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can,
however, lead to personal injury and property damage.
Danger from electric current

e threatening danger exists from contact with live electrical
wires or components!
Observe the following safety information in order to avoid the danger of
electric shock:
Do not use the device if the mains power adapter or the connection cable
are damaged.
Under no cir
cumstances open the mains power adapter housing. The risk
of electric shock exists from touching voltage carrying connections and
changing the electrical/mechanical construction.
Handling of batteries/rechargeable batteries
WARNING
Danger from improper use!
For the safe handling of batteries/rechargeable batteries observe the
following safety information:
Do not throw batteries/rechargeable batteries into a fi re.
Do not short circuit batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Do not attempt to recharge batteries.
Regularly check the condition of the batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Leaking battery acid can cause permanent damage to the device.
Special caution should be shown when handling damaged or leaking
batteries/rechargeable batteries. Danger from acid burns!
Store batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
When swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
Remove the batteries/rechargeable batteries from the speakers if you
do not intend to use the device for an extended period of time.

Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the device observe the following safety information:
Before use check the device for visible external damage. Do not operate a
damaged device or one that has been dropped.
Damaged cables or connections should be r

persons or by the customer service department.

ersons who, due to their physical, intellectual or motor abilities, are incapable
of operating the device safely may only use the device under supervision or
dir
ection of a responsible person.
Only permit children to use the device under supervision.
Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist companies or
by the customer service department. Incorrect repairs can result in signifi cant
danger
s for the user. In addition warranty claims become void.
A repair to the device during the warranty period may only be carried out by
a cutomer service department authorized by the manufacturer otherwise no
additional w
arranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.
Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts.
Only by using original replacement parts can you guarantee that the safety
r
equirements are complied with.
Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration.
Avoid direct sunlight.
In the case of malfunctions and during thunderstorms pull the power adapter
out of the mains power socket.
Do not spr
ay and/or drip water on the device and do not place any object fi lled
with liquid, such as vases or open drink containers, on or near the device.

Packaging material should not be used as a plaything.
There is a risk of suff ocation!

ve the information regarding the setup location requirements as well
as the device's electrical connection to avoid personal injury and property
damage.
Package contents and transport inspection
The device is delivered with the following components as standard:

3.5 mm to 3.5 mm jackplug connection cable, 50 cm long
3.5 mm jackplug to cinch plug (RCA) connection cable, 1 m long
3.5 mm to 6.3 mm jackplug adapter

Check the contents to make sure everything is there and for visible damage.
If the contents are not complete or are damaged due to defective packaging
or through transportation, contact the service hotline (see Service).

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device from transport damage. The packaging materials
are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness and disposal
technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and
reduces generated waste. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed
according to the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
If possible preserve the device's original packaging during the warranty
period so that in the case of a warranty claim you can package the device
pr
operly for return.
Requirements for the setup location
For safe and trouble free operation of the device the setup location must fulfi ll the
following provisions:
The transmission unit and the speakers must be placed on a fi rm, fl at, level
surface.
Do not place the de
vice in a hot, wet or very damp environment or in the vicinity
of fl ammable materials.
The mains po
wer socket must be easily accessible so that the power adapter
can be easily disconnected in an emergency.
Connecting the mains adapter
Observe the following electrical connection for safe and failure free operation of
the device:
Before connecting the power adapter

compare the connection data
(voltage and frequency) with that on the rating plate of your electric supply.
This data must agree in order to avoid damaging the device.
Make sure that the power adapter's

connection cable is not damaged and
is not laying over hot surfaces and/or sharp edges.
The power adapter's

Pay attention to the audio device's operating instructions.

Inserting and connecting the rechargeable battery pack
in the speaker
NOTICE
When delivered the rechargeable battery packs are already inserted into
the battery compartment. You need only to connect the rechargeable
batter
y pack's connection cable to the speaker.
Release both of the battery compartment cover's

locking clips and remove
the battery compartment cover.
Connect the rechargeable battery pack's connection cable.
NOTICE
Make sure that the removal strap is placed under the rechargeable battery
pack in order to make removal of the rechargeable battery pack easier.
Put the batter
y compartment cover back on.
Set the switch

to position Charge, if you use the battery packages.
NOTICE
Each speaker can also be operated with 8 size AAA (LR03 - Mico) batteries/
rechargeable batteries. They are not supplied.
Do not use depleted and ne
w batteries/rechargeable batteries together
and use only batteries/rechargeable batteries of the same type also make
sur
e that the polarity is correct.
Set the switch

to position Normal, if you use 8 batteries/cells of size
AAA (LR03 Micro).

Charging batteries
NOTICE
You can only charge the supplied rechargeable battery pack with the device.
When using size AAA rechargeable batteries you will need a suitable battery
char
ging device for charging.
Switch both speakers off . To do this turn the volume control

on the rear
panel of the respective speaker as far as possible in the direction OFF. The
status LED

will go out.
With both speakers shift the switch

to the position Charge (Charge).
Place both speakers on the transmission unit in such a way that the charging
contacts

are located on top of each other. The charging process
begins and the status LED

on both speakers light up red. The status LED
goes out when the rechargeable batteries are fully charged.
NOTICE
Before initial use charge the rechargeable battery packs for 24 hours.

Switching the speaker on and off
NOTICE
When using the rechargeable battery pack the length of operation is
approx. 3 hours with medium volume. If the sound quality deteriorates the
r
echargeable battery pack must be recharged.
To switch the speaker on turn the volume control

on the rear panel of the
respective speaker in the direction ON. The status LED

lights up green.
To switch the speaker off turn the volume control

on the rear panel of the
respective speaker as far as possible in the direction OFF. The status LED

will go out.

Switch the transmission unit on.
Begin playback of the audio device. The display of the status LED

changes
from green to blue.
Switch the speaker on. The status LED

rst lights up green and then changes
to blue.
Set, as required, the channel and the frequency.
Set the desired volume.
NOTICE
After 4 minutes without signal reception both the speakers as well as the
transmission unit switch to the standby mode. The respective status LED's
light up gr
een.

Danger from leaking battery acid!
In the case of depleted batteries/rechargeable batteries the leaking fl uids can
cause injuries (skin irritations) or device damage.
Wash your hands thoroughly.
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the device.

enetrating moisture can lead to damaging of the device.
Make sure when you are cleaning that no moisture gets inside the trans-
mission unit or the speakers in order to avoid irreparable damage to them.
Cleaning
Clean the housing exclusively with a soft damp cloth and a mild dishwashing
liquid.

Pull the power adapter out of the mains socket and remove the rechargeable
battery packs from the speakers if you do not intend to use the device for an
extended period of time.
Store the device in a dry environment.
Disposal of the device
Do not dispose of the device in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the European directive 2002/96/EC-WEEE
(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the device through an approved disposal centre or at your community
waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please
contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposing of the batteries
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of in household
waste. Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site
in his community/city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is
to ensure that batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only dispose of
batteries when they are fully discharged.
