1. SAFETY

1.1. GENERAL SAFETY

9 Disconnect the gun from the battery unit before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance

9 A re may result if the appliance is not used with care, therefore:

9 Be careful when using the appliance in places where there are combustible materials;

8 DO NOT apply to the same place for a long time.

8 DO NOT use in presence of an explosive atmosphere.

9 Be aware that heat may be conducted to combustible materials that are out of sight;

9 Place the appliance on its stand after use and allow it to cool down before storage;

8 DO NOT leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on.

9 Maintain the gun and battery in good condition.

9 Replace or repair damaged parts. Use an authorised service agent and recommended parts only. Unauthorised parts may be

dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.

9 Keep the gun and charger clean for best and safest performance.

9 Remove ill tting clothing. Remove ties, watches, rings and other loose jewellery and contain long hair.

9 Evaluate your working area before using the tool, e.g. ceilings, oors and enclosures may contain electrical items or water piping.

9 Ensure the gun is switched o before installing the battery pack.

9 Ensure battery pack is correctly inserted into the tool handle and latched in place before attempting to switch it on.

9 Avoid unintentional starting.

9 Wear approved safety eye protection (standard spectacles are not adequate).

9 Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the oor is not slippery and wear non-skid shoes.

9 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.

9 Keep tool and charger in the case and store in a safe, dry, childproof area where the temperature will not exceed 104°F (40°C).

8 DO NOT use the tool where there are ammable liquids, solids or gases, such as paint solvents, etc.

8 DO NOT allow children to operate the tool.

8 DO NOT operate the tool if any parts are missing as this may cause failure and/or personal injury.

8 DO NOT obstruct the air ow by blocking or covering the air outlet.

8 DO NOT touch the nozzle during or after use as it becomes extremely hot.

8 DO NOT use the tool in rain or a wet environment, or areas of high humidity and damp (i.e. bathrooms, steam rooms etc.).

8 DO NOT direct the hot air ow at yourself, others, animals or plants.

8 DO NOT use the tool in combination with chemical strippers.

8 DO NOT hold unsecured work piece in your hand. Secure loose work pieces with a clamp, vice or other adequate holding device.

8 DO NOT leave the tool operating unattended.

8 DO NOT carry the tool with your nger on the power switch.

8 DO NOT use the tool for a task it is not designed to perform.

8 DO NOT operate the tool when you are tired or under the inuence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.

▲ DO NOT use the tool as a hair dryer.

 WARNING: The warnings, cautions and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and

situations that may occur. It must be understood that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product,

but must be applied by the operator.

1.2. LEAD PAINT WARNING! Paint once contained lead as a traditional ingredient. Paint particles, resulting from the removal of such paint,

are toxic and ingestion/inhalation must, therefore, be avoided. The following action must be taken before using this tool:

The user must determine potential hazard relating to age of paint to be removed (modern paints do not have lead content).

▲ DANGER! Keep all persons and pets away from the work area. The following are particularly vulnerable to the effects of lead paint dust:

expectant women, babies and children. We recommend personal protection by using the following safety items: Paint Spray Respirator

(Sealey ref. SSP1699), PE Coated Hooded Coverall (Sealey ref. SSP267), Latex Gloves (Sealey ref. SSP24).

Take adequate measures to contain the paint dust, flakes, and scrapings. When task is complete continue to wear safety equipment

and thoroughly clean all areas. Ensure paint waste is disposed of in sealed bags or containers.

2. i INTRODUCTION

Lightweight, cordless hot air gun with a maximum temperature of 550°C. Suitable for paint stripping, soft soldering, removing sticky labels and

defrosting frozen pipes. Spring loaded, rotating end bezel for removing hot nozzles quickly and easily. Integrated belt hook. Built-in LED work light.

Supplied with fish tail nozzle, deflector nozzle and reduction nozzle. Requires compatible 20V battery and mains charger, sold separately.

4. OPERATION

 WARNING: Remove battery before tting tool or maintenance

is carried out.

4.1. To remove the battery from the equipment, depress the spring

loaded button on the battery pack. Remove the battery pack

by sliding out. DO NOT touch the metal battery terminals.

4.2.  USINGTHETOOL(g.1)

4.2.1. Ensure that you have read, understood and comply with all

the safety instructions in Section 1.

4.2.2. Refit battery ensuring that the switch locking mechanism is

4.2.3. set to the ‘locked’ central position.(fig.1).

4.2.4. While pressing the trigger lock fully either left or right, squeeze the`trigger to operate the gun. Releasing the trigger causes gun to stop

working.

4.2.5. To restart the gun repeat the process above.

4.3. NOZZLES

 WARNING: Ensure the gun and any tted nozzle are cool

enough to handle before attempting to t or change a nozzle.

4.3.1. Press nozzle into collet until the stop is reached and ensure that the nozzle rmly gripped by the collet.

4.3.2. To remove a nozzle once it has cooled, rotate the collet (fig.1). The nozzle is then released and can be removed.

4.3.3. When finished, and the tool has cooled sufficiently to be handled, clean the tool and any soiled nozzles.

8 DO NOT use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sucient, a mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended.

Water must never come into contact with the tool. Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it.

4.3.4. Store in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children.

5. MAINTENANCE

 WARNING: Always disconnect the battery before carrying out any inspection, maintenance or cleaning.

5.1. GENERAL INSPECTION

5.1.1. Regularly check that all the xing screws are tight.

5.1.2. Repairs should be carried out by an authorised service centre.

5.2. CLEANING

 WARNING: Always wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when cleaning this tool.

5.2.1. Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and shorten the device’s service life.

5.2.2. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth.

5.2.3. Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sucient, a mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended.

5.2.4. Water must never come into contact with the tool. Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it.

5.3. LUBRICATION

5.3.1. Lightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant.

5.4. BRUSHES

5.4.1. Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn

5.4.2. Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking.

5.4.3. If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an authorised service centre.

5.5. STORAGE

5.5.1. Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to

a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely

unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids

according to local regulations.

Warranty: Guarantee is 12 months from purchase date, proof of which is required for any claim.
