2. Electrical connections and unit switch-on 1. Preparation and mounting phases
During installation, unplug xChargeIn DC 44/66. Read and understand the safety instructions and warnings prior to installation.
Positioning the xChargeIn DC 44/66
Ensure 300 mm free space on the left and right sides of the charging
station to ensure adequate air circulation (see Figure 1).
Ensure easy access to the controls and connections.
Eaton recommends installing the charging station at the front and
center of the parking space it services, each charging station should
serve only one parking space.
Mounting the xChargeIn DC 44/66
Prepare a concrete base of 800 mm x 450 mm x 250 mm (width x
depth x height) with:
4 x M10 stainless steel threaded rods positioned according to
Figure 2.
One hole of 48 mm diameter for the power input electrical cable
positioned according to Figure 2.
The power input electrical cable is fed through the hole of the
concrete base into the enclosure of the charging station.
Fix the charging station to the 4 x M10 stainless steel threaded rods
on the concrete base using at washers and M10 nuts.
The appropriate types of nuts and at washers must be selected by
a professional installer.
Figure 3 shows the charging station assembled on top of the
concrete base.
Instructions
The unit is intended for indoor or outdoor installation.
Optimal operation of the unit is in the temperature range
-25 °C to +45 °C.
The unit must be transported and stored in indoor locations in
the temperature range -25 °C to +45 °C.
The unit must be used and stored in locations with relative
humidity below 95 %.
The unit must be used at a maximum altitude of 2000 m
above sea level.
The unit must be used in locations free from acids, gases or
other corrosive substances.
Do not install the unit in areas where highly ammable
substances are present.
In case of missing accessories, contact your Eaton technical
support representative.
The contents of the xChargeIn DC 44/66 box
xChargeIn DC 44/66 charging station,

Safety guidelines,
EV plug(s), depending on customer conguration:
CCS plug, cable, cable support and socket,
CCS and CHAdeMO plugs, cables, cable supports and
sockets,
Screws, cable glands and cable gland cap.
Check that the door and housing of the xChargeIn DC 44/66 is
connected with the ground terminal (see Figure 6) and the whole
system is well grounded.
Unit switch-on
Check that the equipment is correctly xed to the oor in
accordance with local regulations.
Check that the AC GRID connections have been made correctly in
accordance with local regulations.
Check that the EARTH connection (MANDATORY) has been made
correctly in accordance with local regulations.
Perform checks on the continuity of the connections of the
protective conductor, insulation resistance, RCD triggering current,
triggering time, etc., in accordance with local regulations.
Verify that the housing is closed and secured with the xing screws.
If the checks listed above were successful, proceed as follows:
Turn on the main AC GRID circuit breakers.
Wait for the display to turn on.
If applicable, configure the router to connect to the Eaton
Charging network manager.
The unit is ready for use. Follow the instructions on the touchscreen
display.

Please refer to the installation manual for further details, available
from www.eaton.com/xchargeindc44_66.
Standard wiring
In accordance with IEC 60364-7-722 a RCD is not required,
unless in TT and TN systems in areas where a re hazard
is present. There, a RCD with rated residual current of
<= 300 mA shall be used for re protection, in accordance
with IEC 60364-4-42 and local standards (Figure 4).
The circuit breakers and the power cable minimal cross-
sections are overvalued to ensure the functionality of the
charging station with higher temperatures. Refer to the
installation manual and local standards for further details.
Electrical connections and terminals
The electrical connection is made on the power supply
terminals located at the bottom left of the charger. Refer to
the appropriate section of the installation manual to open the
xChargeIn DC 44/66 housing.
The power input electrical cables and communication cable
can be inserted from the bottom-left side of the charging
station. Remove the cable glands, if necessary.
The electrical connection is made on the power supply
terminals located at the bottom-left of the charger (Figure 5).
Please connect the phase (L1, L2, L3), neutral (N) and earth
(PE) wires of the GRID to the AC terminal block respecting
the correct assignment (Figure 5).
It is possible to install the unit in an IT grid in accordance with
the local regulations and laws of the country of installation.
