sky and stars, setthetrackingspeedto1X(celestial
trackingspeed).Withagoodpolaralignment,thiswill
keep the stars rounded in your image. If you would
liketotakeanimageofboththestarryskyandthe
nightlandscapeatthesametime,youneedtosetthe
tracking speed at 1/2X. This will let you take clear
imagesofboththeskyandthelandobjectsata
properexposure.SolarspeedisfortrackingtheSun
andlunarspeedforthemoon.
Keep pressing the center round button
to change
thetrackingspeedfromSolar=>Lunar=>1/2X=>1X.
YoumayfastslewtheRAaxisbypressingandholding

Theletter“S”indicatesifthemountissetatnorthern
orsouthernhemisphere.IftheLEDunder“S”ison,it
indicates the mount is set at southern hemisphere.
To change this setting, press and hold the center
roundbutton
untiltheLEDunderletter“S”startto
blink. Press the
button to toggle between the “S
(LEDon)”and“N(LEDoff)”.
5. Polar Alignment: To achieve accurate tracking,
precise polar alignment is crucial. SkyGuider

Pro
mountoffersaquickpolaralignment.
Easyalignmentthroughpolarscope
AimthroughthepolarscopetothePolaris(orSigma
Octantis) while adjusting the azimuth and altitude
angles until putting the Polaris at the cross hairs of
the polar scope dial. Lock all the knobs when done.
ThemisalignmenttoNorthPoleisabout40min(or
about 1 degree in southern hemisphere with Sigma
Octantis).
IfyouareusingthemountwithoutDECBracket,you
needtoremovetheCameraMountingBlockandthe
camera to perform the polar alignment. If you are
usingthemountwithDECBracket,youcandopolar
alignmentwiththepayloadonit.
QuickPolarAlignment
You can use iOptron’s AccuAlign
TM
darkfield
illuminated polar scope for easy and accurate polar
alignment. This is achieved by making the polar axis
ofthemountparalleltotheEarth’saxisofrotation.
As indicated below, the Polar Scope Dial is divided
into12hoursalongtheangulardirectionwith10min
tics. Thereare2 groups, 6concentriccircles marked
from36’to44’and60’to70’,respectively.The36’to
44’ concentric circles are for polar alignment in the
northern hemisphere using Polaris. While the 60’ to
70’circlesareforpolaralignmentinthesouthern
hemisphereusingSigmaOctantis.
Pressthepowerswitchonthemounttoturnonthe
mount.Lookthroughthepolarscopeeyepiece.Ifyou
cannotseeredpolarscopedialor12o’clockmarkis
notontop,releaseRAClutchDiskslightly.Rotatethe
RAaxisuntilyouseetheredLEDilluminationand/or
adjustthe12marktothetop.LocktheRAaxisagain.
Adjusttheeyepiecetobringthereticledialinfocus.
