Limited Warranty

B&K Components Ltd., referred to herein as B&K, warrants your B&K equipment against all defects in material and workmanship for a period of

five years from the date of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and only to equipment in normal residential use and

service. Defective equipment must be returned to B&K, prepaid, accompanied by proof of purchase and sufficient payment to cover the cost of

return shipping and handling, and will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of B&K whose decision as to the method of reparation will be

final.

This warranty shall not apply to any equipment which is found to have been improperly installed, incorrectly fused, misused, abused, or sub-

jected to harmful elements, used in any way not in accordance with instructions supplied with the unit, or to have been modified, repaired or

altered in any way without the expressed, written consent of B&K. This warranty does not apply to the cabinet or appearance items such as the

faceplate or control buttons, nor does it cover any expenses incurred in shipping the unit to and from the manufacturer's service department.

This warranty on B&K Components, Ltd. products is NOT VALID if the products have been purchased from an unauthorized dealer or an E-

tailer or if the original factory serial number has been removed, defaced or replaced in any way. B&K Components, Ltd. sells its products

through authorized dealers in order to ensure that consumers obtain proper dealer service and support. Buying from an authorized B&K

Returning Equipment

No equipment may be returned to B&K Components Ltd. without a RETURN AUTHORIZATION (RA). Should you find it necessary to return

equipment to B&K, for any reason, a RETURN AUTHORIZATION (RA) number must be issued by B&K in respect to the equipment being

returned. You may request an RA number by calling B&K at the numbers below. We will need the following information to issue your RA

number. Please have it ready before you call.

1. Your name, address, and phone number.

2. The model and serial number of the equipment being returned.

3. A description of the problem being experienced.

4. Your sales receipt.

Your call will be referred to a Technical Service Representative who will work with you to resolve the problem. If it is determined that the unit

must be returned for repair, an RA number will be issued.

The TAV21 is a device that will send a standard composite video and analog audio signal over a long distance

using CAT-5 cable. A RAV20 module is required to convert the CAT-5 cable back to RCA to use as an input on

a preamp or receiver. When in use with a RAV20, power can be transmitted to the RAV20 for up to 500 feet

total. When in use with over 500 feet a 12VDC power source is needed (supplied).

1. Dual Box and Decora Chassis Configuration - The TAV21 is shipped default as a floor box design (F) for

use on a shelf , mounting behind a rack or even next to the source. The TAV21 may be configured for use in a

decora wall plate by removing the screws of the chassis and extracting the decora module assembly.

2. RCA Input - Audio and video input connectors using gold plated RCA connectors for minimal signal loss and

degradation. The conversion module uses this input as the source of video that is to be converted to RJ45.

3. 12V DC Input— Connect to an external DC power source (adapter included).

4. Output 1 and 2 - RJ45 CAT-5 video output. Two outputs are available to send to up to two RAV20 modules

for up to 1000 feet total.

The TAV21 module provides two outputs to send up to two RAV20 modules. Simply connect

the output from the TAV21 to the Master Input on the RAV20. The total CAT-5 cable run

cannot exceed 1000 feet. ALL TAV21 modules must each be individually powered and all

RAV20 modules will be powered from the TAV21 up to 500 feet total. When using a distance

over 500 feet total or when using the Slave Output feature on the RAV20, all modules includ-

ing the TAV21 and all RAV20 must be individually powered.

Connect the red (right audio), white (left audio) and yellow (composite video) from the audio /

video equipment output.

12 VDC IN

Connect to an external DC power source (adapter included). The TAV21 ALWAYS has to be

powered using an external power source.

CAT-5 RJ45 pinouts use the T568B

standard. See the figure at left. Each

color twisted pair carries the differen-

tial audio/video signal with pin 7 and 8

sending power for up to 500 feet. Use

of other CAT-5 connection standards

may result in increased crosstalk

between signals with associated audio

and video degradation.

The RAV20 modules will be powered from the TAV21 up to 500 feet total. When using a distance over

500 feet total, all modules including the TAV21 and all RAV20 must be individually powered. When

using the SLAVE output feature ALL RAV20 and TAV21 modules must be externally powered.

CAT-5 T568B Standard

The RAV20 module is meant to be paired with the TAV21 for use when transmitting audio and video over CAT-

5 for up to 1000 feet. The TAV21 is used for transmitting the audio and video signal from RCA to CAT-5 and

the RAV20 is used for transmitting the audio and video signal from CAT-5 back to RCA. Below is an example

when using a TAV21 and RAV20 for transmitting an audio and video signal from a dedicated source to a CT

product.
