Although our C 6MFA/C 7MFA Circular Saws now available on the European market are highly evaluated as
reasonably priced, light-load products, there is also growing demand for less expensive and lighter circular saw
products. In order to expand the market share of our circular saw series products, we consequently released the
C 6SS/C 7SS Circular Saws in wider regions including Europe, as a low-priced series developed by balancing
price and performance.

Compact and lightweight design
The Models C 6SS and C 7SS adopt the highly evaluated
compact design of the C 6MFA/C 7MFA, and incorporate a
light-weight, highly rigid lower guard and a side handle
made of resin to reduce overall weight.
Power-plus heavy-duty motor
The cooling flow path is enhanced to increase power.
(For 230/240 V)
Sawdust rear-discharge type
(Dust collector installable)
A sawdust rear-discharge method is adopted to prevent
sawdust from accumulating on the work face. Simply
attaching an optional dust collector will ensure a clean
environment with minimal scattering of sawdust.
Blower function
The Models C 6SS and C 7SS come with the blower function to blow sawdust away using cooling air of the
motor.
Accurate and sturdy aluminum die-cast base
(Steel plate base available depending on destination)
Thanks to the sturdy aluminum die-cast base, the Models C 6SS and C 7SS can cut workpieces accurately,
resulting in smooth cut workpiece surfaces.
Double-insulated construction
Grounding is not required due to the double-insulated construction.
Refer to the Technical Data and Service Manuals for current models.

1. Safety Instructions
In the interest of promoting the safest and most efficient use of the C 6SS and C 7SS Circular Saws by all
of our customers, it is very important when concluding a sale that the salesperson carefully ensure that the
buyer seriously recognizes the importance of the Instruction Manual, and fully understands the precautions
listed on the Warning Labels, Warning Signs and Caution Labels attached to each tool.
A. Instruction manual
Although every effort is made in each step of design, manufacture, and inspection to provide protection
against safety hazards, the dangers inherent in the use of any electric power tool cannot be completely
eliminated. Accordingly, the Instruction Manual lists general precautions and suggestions on the use of
electric power tools, and specific precautions and suggestions on the use of the circular saw in order to
enhance the safe, efficient use of the tool by the customer. Salespersons must be thoroughly familiar
with the contents of the Instruction Manual in order to offer appropriate guidance to customers during
sales promotion activities.
B. Warning labels and caution labels

PRECAUTIONS ON SALES PROMOTION
-6-
Before disassembly, be sure to remove the saw blade to prevent damage to the cutting edge or personal
injury due to the saw blade.
1. Precautions on Disassembly and Reassembly
The disassembly and reassembly procedures are described below, as well as certain precautions. The
numbers in the descriptions below correspond to item numbers in the Parts List for all the models. In
disassembly, reassembly or other work, the Base [68] should be carefully handled to prevent any loss of
accuracy for each part, such as flatness of the bottom surface.
1. Removal of the Protective Cover
(a) Detach the hook of the Return Spring [6] from the Protective Cover [5].
(b) Loosen the Seal Lock Flat Hd. Screw M3 x 12 [9] that secures the Bearing Cover [8] in place, and then
remove the Bearing Cover [8] and Protective Cover [5].
2. Removal of the Bearing Holder
Loosen the Seal Lock Flat Hd. Screws M5 x 12 [4], and then remove the Bearing Holder [3] together with
the Spindle and Gear Set [2].
3. Removal of the Spindle and Gear Set
Secure the Bearing Holder [3] in a cylindrical jig having
an inner diameter of 42 to 43 mm (about 1-23/32"),
and then push the top end of the Spindle and Gear
Set [2] to remove it.
NOTE:
Once removed, a gear can no longer be used due
to lack of engagement. It must be replaced by a
new Spindle and Gear Set [2].
4. Removal of the Housing Ass’y
(a) Use a flat-blade screwdriver to loosen the Brush Caps [34] and then remove the Carbon Brushes [33].
(b) Loosen the Machine Screws (W/Washers) M5 x 45 (Black) [15] that secure the Housing Ass'y [30] in
place, and then remove the Housing Ass'y [30] and Gear Cover Ass'y [26].

5. Removal of the Armature
(a) Remove the Lock Lever [43] and tap the end surface of the Housing Ass'y [30] with a wooden hammer.
The Armature [23] and the Fan Guide [22] can then be removed.
(b) Remove the Fan Guide [22], Thrust Washer [19] and Bearing Lock [18].
(c) Use a bearing puller to remove the Ball Bearing 6000VVCMPS2L [44] and Ball Bearing 608VVC2PS2L
[20], and then remove Washer (A) [21].
6. Removal of the Stator Ass’y
(a) Loosen the two Hex. Hd. Tapping Screws D5 x 55 [42].
(b) Remove the two Brush Terminals [39] from the brush holders of the Housing Ass'y [30].
(c) Lightly tap the end surface of the Housing Ass'y [30] with a wooden hammer to remove the Stator Ass'y
[38].

Perform reassembly by reversing the order of the disassembly procedure. However, special attention
should be given to the following items.
1. Reassembly of the Bearing Lock and Thrust Washer
Before installing the Armature [23], be sure to install the Bearing Lock [18] and Thrust Washer [19] in the
bearing chamber of the Housing Ass'y [30] in this order. When installing the Thrust Washer [19], be sure to
note its direction of assembly.
2. Replacement of the Ball Bearing 608VVC2PS2L
When only replacing the Ball Bearing 608VVC2PS2L [20], make sure that Washer (A) [21] is reassembled
in the proper direction with clearance between the Ball Bearing 608VVC2PS2L [20] and Washer (A) [21].
3. Reassembly of the Rubber Ring
When installing the Rubber Ring [45], be careful not to damage the bearing chamber groove of the Gear
Cover Ass'y [26].

4. Reassembly of the Stator Ass’y
As shown in Fig. 7 below, insert a guide bar [J-132 stator press pins (special repair tool, Code No. 970911)
are recommended] into the Stator Ass'y [38] and Housing Ass'y [30] to accurately align the screw hole on
the Stator Ass'y [38] with the corresponding hole on the Housing Ass'y [30]. Press-fit the Stator Ass'y [38]
into the Housing Ass'y [30]. Hook the carbon brush terminals in the brush holders. Be careful not to put
internal wires into the ribs of the Stator Ass'y [38] in the Housing Ass'y [30]. Secure the Stator Ass'y [38] to
the Housing Ass'y [30] with the two Hex. Hd. Tapping Screws D5 x 55 [42].
5. Reassembly of the Lock Lever
(a) Place the notch of the Lock Lever [43] between the fan of the Armature [23] and the ball bearing, and
then assemble both parts into the Gear Cover Ass'y [26]. At this time, both ends of the plate spring of
the Lock Lever [43] should be supported by the inner sides of the ribs (at two places) on the Gear Cover
Ass'y [26].
(b) After installation, check Lock Lever [43] operation to ensure that the lever springs back to its original
position when you release it.

strength test.
Insulation resistance: 7M or more using a DC 500 V megohm tester
Dielectric strength: AC 4000 V/1 minute, with no abnormalities
The allowable deflection level of the saw blade shall be as follows:
When the unit becomes soiled, use a clean, soft rag moistened with soapy water to clean it. Never use
chloric solvents, gasoline or thinner (which tend to damage plastic material) for cleaning.
