1. User Utility
User Utility is a utility software to maintain KV-S2025C, KV-S2045C, KV-S2026C and KV-S2046C
series.
1.1 User Utility Functions
User Utility’s main functions are as follows.
Item Contents
Scanner Status Displays Scanner Status and Error Code
Scanner Information Displays Product ID, Firmware version, Interface, and the
status of terminator and imprinter
Scanner Counter Displays “System” counter, “After Clean Roller” counter, and
“After Replace Roller” counter.
Clear Counter Clears “After Clean Roller” counter, or “After Replace Roller”
counter.
Sleep Mode Enables or Disables Sleep Mode, Set the time before
entering Sleep Mode.
Clean Imprinter Cleans Imprinter(only for KV-S2045C/KV-S2046C series)
Save Info Saves scanner and PC information to a file.
2. Installation Method
Installation procedure for User Utility
1.Please read the Software Installation manual before installing this software.
2.Install this software according to the instructions.
3. Start-up
1. Click the [Start] button in the taskbar, and select [Programs (P)]
2. Select [Panasonic]
3. Select the [Scanner Tools]
4. Select the [User Utility]
Important Note:
When starting up user utility, Select Scanner dialog may appear. If the dialog appears, select a scanner
to be maintained. Refer to the Select Scanner Dialog section (4.3) for more information.

4. Functions and Setting method
4.1 Main Dialog
4.1.1 [Scanner Status] and [Error Code]
Displays the status of the connected scanner and the error code according to the condition of the
scanner.
Refer to the Troubleshooting section (5.0) for Error Code and Status Message details.
4.1.2 [Scanner Information]
Displays the following information.
- Product ID
- Firmware version
- Interface
STI SCSI: SCSI (using installed scanner driver.)
ASPI SCSI: SCSI (using ASPI driver.)
STI USB (FS): USB Full Speed
STI USB (HS): USB 2.0 Hi-Speed
- Terminator condition (only with SCSI Interface)
- Imprinter condition (only pertains to the KV-S2045C/KV-S2046C)
4.1.3 [Sleep Mode] button
Opens the [Sleep Mode] dialog box.
Refer to the Sleep Mode Dialog section (4.2) for more information.
4.1.4 [Clean Imprinter] button
This jets the ink out. If the ink-jet is stopped up, please use this button to clean the ink-jet.
This button is enabled only when the imprinter is attached.

4.1.5 [Scanner Counter]
Displays scanner counters. Scanner has 3 counters. The detail of them is as follows.
[System]
-
Displays the total amount of documents that have been scanned.
[After Clean Roller]
-
Displays how many documents have been scanned since the last time the rollers have
been cleaned.
-
[Warning] indicates how many documents can be scanned between the time the rollers
need to be cleaned and the time the rollers is cleaned.
-
When [After Clean Roller] is greater than [Warning], the rollers need to be cleaned.
[After Replace Roller]
-
Displays how many documents have been scanned since the last time the rollers have
been replaced.
-
[Warning] indicates how many documents can be scanned between the time the rollers
need to be replaced and the time the rollers is replaced.
-
When [After Replace Roller] is greater than [Warning], the rollers need to be replaced.
4.1.6 [Update All Counter] button
Updates the scanner counters. The counters are not updated until this button is enabled.
Click this button, and then the latest counters are displayed.
4.1.7 [Clear Counter] button
This clears a counter. There are two [Clear Counter] button. One is to clear [After Clean Roller]
counter. The other is to clear [After Replace Roller] counter.
Click [Clear Counter] button for [After Clean Roller] when replacing or cleaning the rollers.
Click [Clear Counter] buttons for [After Replace Roller] when replacing the rollers.
4.1.8 [Save Info]button
This saves scanner and PC information to a file.
4.1.9 [Select Scanner] button
Opens the [Select Scanner] dialog box.
Refer to the Select Scanner Dialog section (4.2) for more information.
4.1.10 About the User Utility
The version of this application is displayed.
1.Click the title icon of User Utility.
2.Click the [About User Utility] menu.
->The version information window opens.

4.2 Sleep Mode Dialog
4.2.1 [Sleep Mode]
This specifies whether Sleep Mode is enabled or not.
If this check box is selected, Sleep Mode is enabled.
4.2.2 [Waiting Time]
This specifies the time before enabling the Sleep Mode Function after the document is scanned.
The setting value is 1min-60min(1min/step).
4.2.3 [OK] button
This transfers the Sleep Mode settings to the scanner.
4.2.4 [Cancel] button
This cancels the settings.
4.3 Select Scanner Dialog
4.2.1 Select Scanner List box
This selects a scanner.
4.2.3 [OK] button
This makes the selected scanner to be maintained.
4.2.4 [Cancel] button
This cancels the settings.

5. Troubleshooting
The status of the connected scanner and the error code are displayed according to the condition of the
scanner..
Error Code is expressed by [Classified Code]-[Internal Code].
