generate, use, and can radiate radio frequency energy
and may cause harmful interference to radio

User’s Guide. Operation of this device in a residential

the user is responsible for taking appropriate remedial
action at his/her own expense.

This is class A products. In a domestic environment this
product may cause radio interference in which case the
user will need to consider adequate preventative

2. Overview
The OPTOLINX WDM MEDIA CONVERTER is designed
to meet the emerging network deployment needs. This
cost effective solution allows users to extend their network
distance up to 20KM via optical fiber.
In addition, the OPTOLINX WDM MEDIA CONVERTER
adopts WDM technology, enabling communication via a
single optical fiber. The OPTOLINX WDM MEDIA
CONVERTER provides the most cost effective way to
double the bandwidth of an existing fiber network.
Besides being a traditional converter, the OPTOLINX
WDM MEDIA CONVERTER also has built-in monitoring &
self-diagnostic functions to guarantee operation. These
smart monitoring functions allow users to maintain and
diagnose their critical fiber network more efficiently.
The OPTOLINX WDM MEDIA CONVERTER is fully
compliant with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u standards. Installation
and operation procedures are simple and straightforward.
Operation status and Smart Monitor may be monitored
through the LED or the Buzzer.

3. Installation
The installation procedure is simple and straightforward:
Remove the Converter Chassis front panel
protective plate from the selected installation slot.
Carefully slide the converter module into the
Converter Chassis and ensure the converter golden
finger connection with the socket, and rotate the
OPTOLINX WDM MEDIA CONVERTER bracket
screw into the Converter Chassis
Attach fiber cable from the OPTOLINX WDM
MEDIA CONVERTER to the fiber network. The fiber
connections must be matched transmit socket to
receive socket.
Attach a UTP cable from the 10/100Base-TX
network to the RJ-45 port on the OPTOLINX WDM
MEDIA CONVERTER
Check if the Power LED lights up. The TP Link and
FX Link LED will also light up when all the cable
connections are satisfactory.
