Quick Start Guide
Dear Customer. Thank you for purchasing this state of
the art D
VD/HDD Recorder. With care it will provide you
wi
th excellent service for years to come. Please read the
In
struction Manual and note all warnings and heed
safety instructions. Please be aware that this Recorder is
complicated and you should study the Full Instruction
Book for most operations.
Un
packing. Remove the unit from its poly bag and place
on a stab
le surface.
Keep
all packing material until you are totally happy with
the product.
Do not allow small children or animals play
with th
e packing materials.
Plac
ement. This recorder contains a Computer Hard
Drive “HDD”. Do not bang or drop the player, this could
da
mage the intricate workings of the HDD. Place the
recorde
r on a firm stable surface. If using in an enclosed
cabinet, ensure there is sufficient space for ventilation as
this recorder generates heat when in operation. See
handbook for
more details. It is wise to ensure all the
connections and functions are tested before final
placement in a cabinet.
Connect
ion. This recorder operates on a voltage of
230-240
V 50 Hz AC supply. Do not connect to any other
supply. Do not connect to the supply until you have
connected the aerial and TV
Scart Input. This is used for connections by other
app
liances such as Set Top Boxes. For all other
connections please refer to the Instruction Booklet.

rst Time Operation
It
is suggested that a Basic connection assembly is
made first to familiarize yourself with the operation of the
Recorde
r.

r power on.

OUT socket is to connect to other
Scart Output

Tv’s will be via the

Socket. For all
other connectio

Rem
ote Control
The display will turn on and flash
“HELLO”. The recorder will go into
a first ti
me “initialisation routine. The
routing includes “Auto Searching”
fo
r TV stations.
Remove the bat
tery cover
and place the cell
s supplied
as sh
own. Refit the cover
be
fore use.
When initialisation has taken place the recorder will switch
to Optical disc pl
ayer (DVD) and display “NO DISC” .To
place either a DVD or RW disc into the recorder press the
Dis
c drawer Open button. Place a disc onto
the disc tr
ay (label side up) and press the
button
again to close the tray, Do NOT push
the tray with your hand. The disc will then be
“Rea
d” and display either a Disc menu or
start pl
aying automatically.
HDD Operation.
To
select HDD mode press the HDD button on the remote
control. A menu of Recorded programmes will be
displayed on screen.
Rec
ording. To perform an (Instant) recording to HDD in
TV
mode, simply press the REC button on the remote
control. A display will tell you it has started to record a 30
minute segment, pressing the REC button again increases
the
segment to 60 minutes. To remove the display press
“RETURN” on the remote control. To stop recording press
the
STOP button.
