Surface Mount Vents – Used in new construction and to cover openings where original installed vents have
deteriorated. The damper is a simple mechanism to manually control airflow. These vents are ideal for use
where traditional framing members (studs) are 16" on center.
1. Rough opening measurements must be at least 1 inch smaller than the vent size.
2. Remove the old vent and any loose debris from opening.
3. Apply a bead of sealant around inside of vent flange.
4. Fasten vent with nails or screws using the pre-punched fastener holes (6 per vent).
