IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE REQUIRED SERVICES OR HARDWARE, STOP.
Visit a Cincinnati Bell retail store to purchase a DSL Gateway modem.
Routers are available for purchase at computer supply stores.
Setup Overview
The Cincinnati Bell Smart Phone Base does not replace your Modem,
Router or DSL Gateway. It works with these devices. Once the Base is
set up near your Router or DSL Gateway, up to 5 Handsets may be placed
anywhere in the home as long as they are near an electrical outlet.

DO NOT change the original setup of your Modem and Router
or DSL Gateway to a wall jack, electrical outlet or your computer
during any step of Cincinnati Bell Smart Phone setup.

The Base allows your Cincinnati Bell Smart Home Phone to connect to
the Internet. It should be placed near your Router or DSL Gateway.
DO NOT unplug or remove cords from any of these devices during setup.
Plug one end of the Telephone Cord into the hole on the back of the 1.
Base marked TEL LIN and the other into an available phone jack.

If your
Modem or DSL Gateway is already plugged into the closest available wall
jack, you’ll need a DSL Splitter to plug your Base into the same wall jack.
Plug one end of the Ethernet Cable 2.

marked INTERNET and the other
end into an available port on your
Router or DSL Gateway.
Plug one end of the Base Power 3.

1. Press the INFO button on
your Handset to get to the
system settings screen.
2. Enter your 10-digit home
phone number including the
area code then press OK.
3. Verify your phone number,
then press YES.
4. Enter your local zip code then
press OK.
5. If you have Cincinnati Bell
voicemail, please enter your
mailbox password. If you do
not have this service, leave
the eld blank. If you’ve
forgotten your password, call
513-565-2210 to have it reset.
6. If you do not have Cincinnati
Bell voicemail, enter the last
four digits of the account
holders Social Security
number. It must match the
SSN number we have on le
for the home phone line.
