The BLUE TREK® ST1 is a wireles s stereo he adset based on the Bl uetooth® te chnology.
It com plies with the Blueto oth® 1.2 pro tocol, whic h supports the Heads et, Hands-f ree,
A2DP a nd AVRCP prol e.
The BLUE TREK® ST1 headset has 6 buttons, as shown i n Figure 1:

Charging the BLUETREK® ST1
Connec t the charg er to the h eadset as s hown in Figu re 2.

USB ch arger). Dur ing the cha rge, the in dicator lig ht of the “PLAY/PAUSE“ bu tton will
turn g reen. This lig ht will tur n o when charging is complete. S ubsequent c harges shou ld
take a pproximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
When yo u hear a lo w-tone beep through you r headset at regular i ntervals, and the
“TALK/ON /OFF “button 1 ashes in red, your he adset needs to be rech arged.
Impor tant:
• To maximi ze battery lifetime, i t is recomm ended that you recharge your heads et to full
cap acity only when the b attery is low, as it ha s a lifetim e of about 500 chargin g cycles.
• If you leave yo ur headset battery em pty for an extended p eriod of t ime, it coul d
excessiv ely dischar ge the batt ery. In thi s case, cha rge your hea dset for 10 hours or m ore
until t he batter y recovers a nd recharge s completel y. Switch the headset on only when
the gre en indicato r light goe s o, indicat ing that t he battery has fully recovered.
• Do n ot let the battery ch arger remai n plugged i n the head set for more than 24h.
• The use of any oth er charger will automa tically sus pend the wa rranty.

Pairing the BLUETREK® ST1
Before using the h eadset, you must pair it with you r Bluetooth ® mobile p hone. Pairing is the
process of linkin g two Bluet ooth® devi ces, so that they can c ommunicate.

1. Plac e the heads et and your mobile ph one within 0.3 meters (1 foot) of each other.
2. Swit ch on your phone and s elect its Bluetooth® discover mo de (refer to the Blueto oth®
mo bile phone manual).
3. Ens ure the hea dset is swi tched o.
4. Press and hold the “TALK/ON/OFF” but ton fo r about 7 seconds unt il the indi cator light
a shes red an d blue alte rnately, and a tone can be heard th rough the s peaker.
5. Once the mobil e phone det ects the h eadset, a “BLUET REK ST1” messag e will be d isplayed.
Foll ow the phon e instruct ions to acc ept the pai ring. The PIN code (or p asskey) is 0000,
th en press “yes” or “ok”.
If the pairing i s successfu l, then the “TALK /ON/OFF” button indi cator light will turn into blue
and a shes interm ittently.

Using the BLUETREK® ST1 with your audio device by connecting
with a Bluetooth® stereo adapter
You can li sten to your music from an audio d evice, such as MP3 pla yer, by connec ting to a
Bluetoo th® stereo adapter tha t supports the A2DP prole (ple ase refer to the Blueto oth®
stereo adapter use r manual to nd out wh ich prole it suppor ts). If you r Bluetooth ® stereo
adapter also supp orts AVRCP p role, pleas e refer to “List ening to Mu sic from th e
BLUETRE K® ST1” in this manual for the extra functions.

Switching the BLUETREK ST1® headset ON and OFF
To switch o n:
When yo ur headset is o, press and hold t he “TALK/ON/OFF” butt on for about 3
seconds until the blue indic ator light is on. A be ep (2 tones ) can be he ard through the
speake r then relea se the but ton.
To switch o :
When yo ur headset is on, pres s and hold the “TALK/ON/OFF ” button for a bout 7 seco nds
until t he red indi cator light is on aft er the quic k blue ash es. A beep (2 tones) c an be heard
in the speaker. Rele ase the “TALK/ON /OFF” button .
Making a call
Note: The voice diali ng feature i s not avail able on al l mobile ph ones or PDAs . However, you
can al ways dial di rectly usi ng your phon e keypad. I f your mob ile phone d oes oer th e voice
recognit ion feature, you can ma ke a call d irectly fro m the head set without touching y our
Bluetoo th® mobile phone.
Mobile phones wi th voice dia ling
Make s ure that th e voice dial ing functi ons on your phone are activated a nd that you r voice
tags h ave been reco rded. To program t hese, pleas e refer to yo ur phone m anual.
Press th e “TALK/O N/OFF” button (when there is no incoming a nd no act ive call). A n
audio connection is establi shed.

Adjusting the volume
Increas ing the vol ume
To increase the volume during an active ca ll or when listening t o music, pre ss the “VOL+”
button on t he headset.
Decreas ing the vol ume
To decrease the volume during an active ca ll or when listening t o music, pre ss the “VOL-“
button on t he headset.
Muting the microphone
To activate the mute function
During an active call, press and hold t he “VOL+” button until you hear a two-tune b eep,
you can hear the o ther part y but they cannot hea r you. A pe riodic tone is heard t hrough
the sp eaker while the microp hone is mut ed.
To end the mute func tion
When th e microphon e is muted, press the "VOL+" button o nce. The perio dic tone wi ll
be end ed.

Transferring a call from BLUETREK® ST1 to the mobile phone
During an active call, press the “TALK/ON/OFF ” butto n for about 2 se conds.
(Thi s function only works in the Han ds-free pro le.)

To switch between an active cal l and a hol d call, pres s approx. 2 seconds on the
“TALK/ON /OFF” button .

Listening to Music from the BLUETREK® ST1
You can listen to your music from the Bluetoot device through the BLUETREST1 after
pairing them together. However, your Bluetootdevice must support A2DP prole in order
to listen to the music and AVRCP prole to use the remote functions as described below.

Press the “PLAY/PAUSE” button on the headset to switch between play and pause functions.
Go to the next track*
While the music is playing, press the “FORWARD button on the headset. You’ll hear a beep
and the next track in your play list will be played.
Go to the previous track*
While the music is playing, press the “BACKWARD button on the headset. You’ll hear a
beep and the previous track in your play list will be played.
*These functions may not work on some devices, even if they support the AVRCP prole.

Bluetooth connection loss/ recover y
The hea dset maybe disconnect ed if the l ink between the phone and your h eadset is l ost,
for exa mple, if th e phone and the headse t are more than 10 met ers (33 fee t) apart.
If the headset is disconnec ted, the he adset will automatical ly try rec onnecting within
approxim ately 5 min utes, and yo u will hea r a periodi c beep. The mu sic will au tomatically
start again if t he connect ion is re- establishe d within 5 minutes.
If the connectio n is not re -establis hed after 5 minutes, you have to p ress once o n the
“TALK/ON /OFF” button to recon nect the h eadset with the phone manually.
Note:
This fu nction may not be ava ilable on s ome phones.
Some p hones will close the music player if the li nk is disco nnected. In this case, you
need to restart t he music p layer.
Troubleshooting guide
The rs t thing you should do if you enco unter a prob lem that yo u cannot s olve with th is

- Heads et prole, describes how a Blue tooth enabl ed headset should comm unicate wit h
a co mputer or o ther Blueto oth enable d device su ch as a mob ile phone. Wh en
conn ected and congured, t he headset can act a s the remote device’s audio input and
out put interf ace.
- Hand s-free pro le, descri bes how a g ateway devic e can be us ed to place and receive
cal ls for a ha nd-free dev ice. A typi cal congur ation is an automobile using a m obile
pho ne for a gat eway device. In the ca r, the stereo is used for the phone aud io and a
mic rophone is installed in the car for sending outgoing a udio of the conversatio n. It is
als o used for a personal computer to act as a speakerpho ne for a mo bile phone in a
hom e or oce e nvironment.
- A2DP prole (Adv anced Audio Distributi on Prole), is designed for transfe rring a
2-c hannel ste reo audio st ream such a s music fro m an MP3 p layer, to a hea dset or ca r
radi o.
- AVRCP pr ole (Audio /Video Remo te Control Pro le), is de signed to p rovide a st andard
inte rface to c ontrol equi pments to a llow a sing le remote co ntrol (anot her devices ) to
