Notes on use
USB INPUT:
The DSD-SR MK2 is equipped with an XMOS based USB chipset that does not require a driver for Mac or Linux OS.
However, a driver is required for Windows. Please contact us in order to obtain the Windows driver:
info@aplhi.com
After you have received the Windows driver from us, please connect the DSD-SR MK2 to the computer via USB cable
and then initiate the driver installation. Please note that, if the DSD-SR MK2 is not powered On and connected to
the computer with USB cable, the driver will not install properly.
When connecting the DSD-SR MK2 to Linux based external audio renderers, please make sure that the DAC is
powered On rst, prior to connecting the USB cable to the audio renderer.
In other words, please always start the DSD-SR MK2 rst and then the audio renderer. Please note that the
DSD-SR MK2 does not use the +5V power from the USB bus coming from the computer or streamer.
DTR INPUTS:
The DSD-SR MK2 features two proprietary DTR inputs – DTR1 and DTR2. These inputs are intended for connecting
APL Hi-Fi digital sources only, such as the DTR-MR CD/SACD transport and the DNP-SR network streamer.
FRONT DISPLAY:
It is highly recommended to use the display O mode for best sound quality.
This mode is set by pushing the DISPLAY button on the front panel or remote.
The display will show the changes made and then shut O again in approximately 3 seconds.
DIGITAL FILTERS SELECTION:
DSD-SR MK2 digital lters can be selected by pressing the FILTER button on the remote. That button toggles
between Zero (non-oversampling), Slow (slow-rollo ) and Normal (sharp-rollo). The digital lter selection
is possible only with PCM format. The digital lters do not work for Native DSD playback.
REQUIRED BREAK-IN TIME:
It takes around 200-300 hours of break-in time for the DSD-SR MK2 to fully settle.
Please make sure to run the DSD-SR MK2 in your audio system for a minimum of 3 days,
prior to any critical evaluation.
If you have any questions of concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us - info@aplhi.com
