Installing DisplayIt!Xpress on your Android 11 Product
For non-touch units, we recommend connecting an external keyboard and mouse.
Adjust Android Settings
Install DisplayIt!Xpress
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Open --- Apps & Notifications settings.
3. Click Advanced, then click Special App Access. Select Install Unknown Apps from the list.
4. Allow Chrome and Explorer to install unknown apps. To enable, click the app to enter its submenu, then click ‘Allow
from this Source’.
5. Click the left arrow to go back to the Special App Access menu.
6. Click Unrestricted Data.
7. Allow Chrome to access unrestricted data by clicking the toggle.
8. Return to main settings and make sure the unit is connected to Wi-Fi.
1. Using the Chrome app, download the Android Player Installer from www.bestwave.com/DisplayItX-Product.php
2. Open Settings and allow DXInstaller app access to unrestricted data following the procedure above.
3. Doubleclick the DXInstaller app to run the installer.
4. A pop-up window warning that the software was compiled on a previous version of Android appears. Click OK.
5. Once all three progress bars are complete, open the Explorer app.
6. Navigate to Internal Memory > Downloads > BestWave > Install. Open the folder, then launch all 3 installers.
Important! Do NOT click ‘Run’ after installations are complete!
7. Once installed, click Done.
8. Return to Home Screen and open the DisplayIt!Xpress Launcher app.
Enter DisplayIt!Xpress Credentials
1. Write down the IP address of your network as it appears in the DisplayIt!Xpress window.
Install DisplayIt!X Management Console
1. On your PC, go to DisplayIt!Xpress website: www.bestwave.com/DisplayItX-Product.php.
2. Click the Watch Demo button to watch the full product tutorial.
3. Download the Management Console from the Download Center on the right.
2. Click Local or Wide-Area Network.
3. Enter the email address assigned to your account for registration. If you do not know this email address, exit the
software and contact support@bestwave.com to get a registered or trial email assigned. When you have it, you
can restart the software.
4. After loading, a blue-sky image with the Best Wave logo appears, indicating the software installation is complete.
4. Install and open the Management Console. Enter your login credentials.
5. Click the Add/Edit Displays tab. In the Display List window, find your display on the network. If it doesn’t appear,
enter the requested fields:
a. Display Name: (usually location of display)
b. Type of Player: Windows PC
c. Update Method: Local or Wide-Area Network
d. IP Address: IP Address written down from DisplayIt!Xpress app
e. User ID and Password: by default, both user ID and password are ‘admin’ (lowercase).
1. In the Add/Edit Displays tab, set a default time to display new playlist items.
Note: You can modify the display duration for any individual item when you add it to the playlist, or you can
embed the time in the name of any file. For example, to set the duration for a file named testImage.jpg to 45
seconds, change its name to 45_testImage.jpg. When it is added to a playlist, the duration will automatically be set
to 45 seconds.
Confirm Connection with Test Playlist
2. In the Manage Content tab, drag and drop an image file to add to the playlist. Click Save.
3. In the Monitor & Update tab, click the name of your display to check for successful connection.
4. If the playlist does not display or there is any problem with communication from the PC to your display, go to the
Support tab on the Best Wave website and refer to the Communications Troubleshooting Guide. For additional
