The 44-PWR22 & 44-PWR22B power antenna replacement mast is designed only for the Metra
44-PW22 & 44-PW22B power antenna. This will not work with other power antennas, nor factory
power antennas.
1. Make sure your antenna is fully retracted and that the
radio is off.
2.
Remove the antenna mounting nut located on top of the
fender (Figure A). If the mast is bent, it may be necessary
to cut off the old mast with a hacksaw to allow you to
access the nut
.
3. Turn on the radio and pull the old mast and serrated cable
completely out of the antenna motor. Note which side of
the antenna the serrated cable is facing. (Figure B)
4.
Feed the serrated cable of the new mast into the antenna
hole. Stop when resistance is felt, approximately 12" (30,
5cm). Make sure the new cable feeds in with the teeth
positioned the same way the old cable came out. (Figure C)
5. Turn the radio off to lower antenna until serrated cable
catches. It may be necessary to cycle antenna several
times (by turning radio off and on) until the cable catches
the gear mechanism and retracts into the antenna motor.
6. Replace and tighten the nut that secures the antenna
mast. (Figure D)
7. Turn the radio on and make sure that the mast fully
extends without binding.
