Brake Lever Installation
The vision Brake Lever is designed to fit aerobars with full internal cable routing and may not work with some models of V ision Aerobars and basebars.
The vision Brake lever requires a minimum 36.5mm bore depth for complete insertion of the wedgebolt into the aerobar.
1. Measure the inside and outside diameter of the aerobar at the brake lever installation point . The brake lever will only fit aerobars with a maximum Ø24mm and a minimum Ø22mm OD. The maximum ID is Ø22mm and
minimum is Ø18.75mm.
2. The brake cable housing should be installed and cut prior to brake lever installation. Make sure the housing is free of sharp curves or kinks that could cause excess friction.
3. Squeeze the brake lever to access the 5mm allen bolt inside the brake lever body . Loosen the bolt so the wedge bolt slides into the handlebar with no restrictions. Note: DO NOT remove wedgebolt from brake lev er
body.
4. Insert brake cable housing into brake lever until it reaches the housing stop.
5. Insert the Brake Lever and wedgebolt assembly completely into the handlebar .
Do not apply grease the handlebar or inside the Brake Lever Body or wedgebolt.
6. Adjust the Brake Levers to desired position and angle on base bar.
7. Tighten the 5mm Allen Bolt inside the brake lever body to torque of 60 kgf.cm / 6 Nm / 53 in.lbs. Do not overtighten. Always use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten all bolts on all Vision products.
Installation of Brake and Cable Housing
Only use the brake cables provided with the Vision Brake Levers. Use only Vision Drag-On Brake cable kit (V0015) if replacement cables are needed. Vision brake cables have a specially designed cable head. DO NOT USE
SHIFTER CABLES in place of Vision Brake Cables.
1. Measure and cut to length the Cable Housing as required. Make certain that the housing ends are smooth and free from burrs.
2. Apply drops of lubrication into the forward open end of the cable housing. Install the Cable Ferrule (not shown) onto the ends of the housing.
3. Install Brake lever into aerobar as instructed in Brake Lever Installation section.
4. Insert the Vision Brake Cable through the lever and cable housing. If the cable does not slide freely through the housing, check for sharp bends or burrs in the cable housing. Ensure the head of the Vision brake cable is
properly seated in the Vision Brake Lever.
5. Attach the cable to the caliper and adjust the brake. Following the brake caliper manufacturers instructions.
