COAXIALDIFFERENTIALDISPERSIONTECHNOLOGY
Introduced by Martin Audio with the launch of the CDD Installation Series of speakers, fullrange models feature uniqu e,
patentedCoaxialDifferentialDispersion™technology.CDDsystemsaugmentthe‘pointsourcebenefitsofcoaxialdriverswith
theconsistencyofcoveragewhichDifferentialDispersiontechnologycandeliver.
Noncoaxialsystemscansufferfrom
unevenfrequencyresponseinthecrossoverregionbecauseofinterferencebetweenthe
LFandHFsections;dependingonthelisteningposition,thiscausesoffaxisvariations,particularlyclosetotheloudspeaker.In
contrast,coaxialsystemsaimtosumLFandHFcontributionsatallpositionsoffaxis,evencloseup.
AdisadvantageofconventionalcoaxialdevicescanbeHFbeaming,wheretheHFdispersionreducesathigherfrequencies.This
isprimarilybecausetheHFenergyemergesthroughanarrowtubeinthepolepieceofthemagnetsystem.CDDSeriescoaxial
devicesovercomethisbytheuseofastatic waveguide
thatmergesseamlesslywiththeuniqueconeshapemaintainingthe
dispersionpatternevenatveryhighfrequencies.
ADifferentialDispersionhornhasatrapezoidaldispersionpatterninbothverticalandhorizontalplaneswhichcoversthetarget
areamoreevenlythanasystemwithaconventional,fixeddispersiontypehorn.
Withaconventionalhorn,thespeakerisusually
placedaboveheadheightandaimedtowardsthecentreoftheaudience.Thisproducesanimperfectcoveragepatternwhich
missesoutsomeareasparticularlysideareasclosetothe loudspeaker.
Incontrast,aCDDCoaxialDifferentialDispersionsystemproducesarectangularcoverage
patternextendingtoallcornersofthe
audiencearea,whilewidehorizontalcoverageisachievedveryclosetotheloudspeaker.Theconsistencyoffrequencyresponse
andSPLthusachievedthroughouttheaudienceareaisexceptional.Theimprovedcoverageclosetothesourcealsomeansthat
CDDspeakerscanoftenbe
spacedfurtherapart,reducingoverallspeakercount.

AllmodelsintheCDDLiverangefeatureaclassDamplifierwithonboardDSPandinputtothesystemscanbeeitherbalanced
line level analogue or Dante™ digital audio. Introduced by Audinate, Danteis an uncompressed, multichanneldigital media
networking platform, with nearzero latency and synchronization.
Dante has become the preferred digital audio networking
solution,acommonplatformthattheindustryhadbeentryingtofindformanyyears.Ithasbeenadoptedbymoreproa udio
AV manufacturers than any other networkin g technology. Interoperability is not a dream of the future, but a reality today.

SwitchingbetweenXLRanalogueinputstoDanteonCDDLIVE!enclosuresisautomaticifadigitalstreamispresent,unlessthe
userselectstheXLRoptioninVUNET.ThisofferstheoptionofrunningbothDantedigitalandanaloguesimultaneously
withthe
analoguefeedactingasaredundantbackuptoseamlesslytakeoverintheeventofafailureintheDantefeedupstreamofthe
