CoaxialDifferentialDispersionTechnology
Introduced by Martin Audio with the launch of the CDD Installation Series of speakers, fullrange models feature unique,
patentedCoaxialDifferentialDispersion™technology.CDDsystemsaugmentthe‘pointsourcebenefitsofcoaxialdriverswith
theconsistencyofcoveragewhichDifferentialDispersiontechnologycandeliver.
Noncoaxialsystemscansufferfrom
unevenfrequencyresponseinthecrossoverregionbecauseofinterferencebetweenthe
LFandHFsections;dependingonthelisteningposition,thiscausesoffaxisvariati ons,particularlyclosetotheloudspeaker.In
contrast,coaxialsystemsaimtosumLFandHFcontributionsatallpositionsoffaxis,evencloseup.
AdisadvantageofconventionalcoaxialdevicescanbeHFbeaming,wheretheHFdispersionreducesathigherfrequencies.This
isprimarilybecausetheHFenergyemergesthroughanarrowtubeinthepolepieceofthemagnetsystem.CDDSeriescoaxial
devicesovercomethisbytheuseofa staticwaveguide
