Introduction
AutoLine is a system for the track-independent
creation of tram lines with GPS.
The tram lines are not controlled via the working
signal of the machine as with conventional tram
line control, but via GPS.
This eliminates the need for connecting tram
lines, so that beds can be created and workows
improved.
After creating the rst track lead track (AB track /
contour track), all tram lines are automatically
calculated by HORSCH AutoLine.
Whenever the drill enters a track containing a
tram line, the corresponding tram line valves
are actuated.
The function can be used in conjunction with
HORSCH Touch Terminals from software
version 02.20.11 and the E-Manager software
version 10.09.
This requires the TramLine Management license.
Prerequisites
HORSCH Terminal Touch
Software version 02.20.11
Job computer E-Manager Midi

The pre-emergence markers are con-
trolled with this softkey.
If the softkey is shaded green, the
pre-emergence markers are lowered
when the tram line is activated.
If the softkey is shaded grey, the
pre-emergence markers remain in the
top position if the tram line is activated.
The tram line function can be enabled or
disabled with this softkey.
With this softkey the settings for GPS-con-
trolled tram lines are accessed.

the middle of the tram line for the crop
protection machine is recorded in the

1. Number of coulter
2. Number of section
Machines without half-width shut-o have
one section. Machines with half-width shut-
o have two sections (left side of machine
- Section 1, right side of machine - Section 2).
3. Tram line valves
This species whether a tram line valve is
installed on the respective coulter.
The following illustration shows the schematic
structure of a drill with dierently arranged
tram line valves.

4. Symm. valves
This indicates whether the tram line valves
are arranged symmetrically or not.
The E-Manager receives this information from
the settings on the tram lines (see item Number
of section).
5. Half working width oset
Here the operator can select whether drilling
shall start with an oset of half a working width
toward the edge of the eld.
When moving the tram lines by half a working
width, the crop protection machine can drive
in the tractor tracks of the seed.
Example: Tram line rhythm 2S
Working width of drill: 6 m
Working width of crop protection machine:
12 m
The tram line valves are installed symmet-
rically on the machine.
NOTE
When selecting a tram line rhythm that requires
an oset of half a working width, the oset must
be set manually.
No automatic selection is made.
3 m 3 m
6 m 6 m 6 m 6 m
12 m12 m

6. Starting headland
Here the operator must select at which edge
of the eld drilling shall start.
The conguration is complete once all set-
tings are correct.
NOTE
The settings are only accepted when leaving
the screen.

The following message appears if the con-
guration of the tram line valves does not
correspond to the selected tram line rhythm:
Impermissible
conguration.
Conguration can
only be used in
manual tram line
mode.
¾Check the conguration of the tram line valves
and the tram line rhythm again and change
accordingly to be able to use AutoLine.
Example
The following rhythm shall be set:
The PopUp appears in the event of errors, e.g.
in the following cases:
Both tram line valves are installed on the left
side of the machine.
Three tram lines (tram line areas) are installed
on one side of the machine.
If the valves are arranged symmetrically, a
rhythm is set that requires symmetric arrange-
ment of the tram line valves.

Activating AutoLine
NOTE
The terms AutoLine and TRAMLINE Management are
to be used synonymously.
¾Activate the options TRACK Leader II (license
required) and TRAMLINE Management (license
required) on the terminal using the activation
code. This activates the license. In addition,
a checkmark must be placed in the settings
of the TRACK Leader; note the following
gures on this:
General
TRACK Leader AUTO
TRACK Leader TOP
TRAMLINE Management
Detection of direction of travel
Selective marking
8
9
Starting AutoLine
¾Start the navigation in the TRACK Leader.
¾Create lead tracks (AB tracks) if none are yet
available.
¾Select whether you want to work in automatic
or manual working mode.
AB tracks in which tram lines are created are
shown in violet on the terminal; the currently
active AB track appears in blue.
The middle of the tram line is shown in yellow
as lead track for the crop protection machine,
if the documentation function was activated in
the machine settings. The respective softkey is
described in the E-Manager conguration section.
NOTE
Faulty tram line with wrong direction of travel!
When entering the eld opposite the stipulated
direction of travel of the tram line rhythm, the
tram lines are not created correctly.
The direction is shown when the tram lines
are arranged asymmetrically.
No direction is shown when the tram lines are
arranged symmetrically.
¾Always pay attention to the stipulated direc-
tion of travel of the tram line rhythm!

Changing the AutoLine working
mode
Two working modes are available when TRAM-
LINE Management is activated:
Automatic mode (AutoLine)
The system creates the tram lines automat-
ically.
Manual mode
Creating a tram line is controlled via the work-
ing signal of the drill.
Softkey for switching between auto-
matic mode and manual mode.
The terminal shows which mode is activated:
Symbol Meaning
Automatic mode activated.
Manual mode activated.
AutoLine cannot be activated since no lead
tracks were created.
Move tram lines to another pass
When creating tram lines in automatic mode,
they are transferred to the machine by AutoLine.
¾Adjust the current number of pass manually
if it does not correspond to the desired pass.
The numbers and colour displays are adjusted
here accordingly in the terminal.
Symbol Meaning
Increasing the current number of the pass.
Reducing the current number of the pass.
NOTE
¾Move the tram lines only before starting to
work!
Moving the tram lines while drilling destroys the
rhythm and makes the tram lines created unusable
for further work with other machines.
NOTE
Faulty tram line with wrong direction of travel!
When entering the eld opposite the stipulated
direction of travel of the tram line rhythm, the
tram lines are not created correctly.
The direction is shown when the tram lines
are arranged asymmetrically.
No direction is shown when the tram lines are
arranged symmetrically.
¾Always pay attention to the stipulated direc-
tion of travel of the tram line rhythm!
10
11
Inverting AB track for tram lines
¾Check whether the created lead track in the
TRACK Leader corresponds to the direction
of travel in the AB orientation so that the tram
lines are created in the correct passes.
¾Check whether the orientation of the AB tracks
matches the desired starting eld edge and
invert the tram lines if necessary.
Example
The orientation of the AB tracks is correct, the
tram lines are created in the correct passes:
10
11
The direction of travel does not correspond to
the created AB track. The tram lines are created
in wrong passes:
¾Invert the AB track.
To do this, press the softkey to invert the AB
track.
Softkey for inverting the AB track.
Shall the AB track for tram lines
really be inverted?
Yes
No
PopUp - must be conrmed for inverting
NOTE
¾Invert the AB tracks only before starting the
automatic tram line system!
¾Inversion during operation destroys the tram
line rhythm.
System boundaries
Asymmetrical tram line rhythms in both direc-
tions can only be used if tram line valves are
tted at the appropriate position and in the
correct number on the machine.
If AutoLine is switched o, for example when
driving around obstacles, tram lines are no
longer recorded.
The tram lines remain activated but are no
longer recorded.
