Your ADE Mechanical sliding weight baby scale is a precision instrument and must be treated
accordingly. Therefore kindly read and follow the Operating Manual in all respects.
Installation and Use of the scale
Check carton contents:
Unpacking the carton you will find:
- Scale
- Baby tray and washable cover (terry cloth)
- Mounting material
- Operating Manual
Place the scale on an even and safe surface.
Slide forward the locking device on the right hand side of the scale (red slider).
Mounting of the baby tray:
Using the mounting material (2 screws) fasten the baby tray on the weighing platform. To do
this a simple coin will do. Place the tray on the scale with its two holes overlaying the two holes
on the platform. Place the screws in the holes and tighten them by using the coin. Make sure
the screws are carefully and safely tightened. You may now put the terry cloth cover over the tray.
Zero positioning:
Before first use of the scale and to make sure that the scale indicates the correct weight it has to be
set to ZERO manually.
- Set both sliders on the sliding bars in zero position. The movable bar has to swing up and
down freely and come close to a standstill in an even position. You may control this optically.
On the right hand side of the reading bar you find a control window. If you can see a complete
white line ad midst the scale has been set correctly to zero.
- If there is a deviation (white line interrupted) slide the counter weight situated on the backside
of the scale gently to another position until you reach an even position. (white line straight)
- The scale is now ready to be used.
Attention:
A periodically zero setting according to the previous instructions should be done.
This applies especially if the scale is used in a different place, on a different surface.
Weighing
- Put the baby on the tray.
- Slide the lower sliding weight to the position of the estimated weight of the baby and hook it
safely into the notch.
- Now slide the small red slider on the upper part until you have reached the correct weighing
result. Only if the weighing bar comes to a standstill in even position (straight white line) you
have reached the best possible weighing result.
- Total weight is the addition of both results (exact position of the upper and lower sliders).
- The weighing procedure being completed and in case no further weighing will be done slide
both sliders back to zero and block the scale on the right hand side by pushing the red
blocking slider backwards.
- Do not leave the baby unattended on the scale at any time.
