and for listening to radio programmes.
The CD-Player with Radio is not intended
for use in commercial or industrial areas.

Safety information
Do not allow children to handle elec-

Do not place fluid-filled receptacles,

Do not use the appliance near hot

Do not keep the appliance in places
exposed to direct sunlight, Otherwise,
it may overheat and become irrepar-
ably damaged.
Do not leave the appliance unatten-
ded when in use.
Never cover the ventilation slots of
the appliance while it is being used.
Do not place open fire sources, such as
for example candles, on the appliance.

Caution!
Notice regarding electrical power surges
(EFT / electrical fast transient):
In a case of malfunction due to an
electrical fast transient (power surge)
the product must be returned to default
settings in order to re-establish normal
operation. Perhaps the power supply
must be separated and reconnected
again, or the batteries must be removed
and replaced.
Electrostatic Discharge
In a case of malfunction due to electro-
static discharge the product must be
returned to default settings (Perhaps

Note: A case of electrostatic discharge
occurs if one walks with plastic-soled
shoes over a carpet that also contains
elements of plastic. Through the friction
of the shoe soles on the carpet a charge
is created in the body which discharges
itself as soon as one touches an electicity
conducting object, such as for example a
door knob or the bodywork of a motor
vehicle.

Thereby it is sufficient to approach
the conductor to within only a few cm.
Direct contact is not required to effect
a discharge. The charge can also reduce
itself over an electrical arc. A discharge
is thus also possible through plastic hou-
sing components.
Note: This appliance is equipped with
non-slip rubber feet. As upper surfaces
can comprise of various materials and
are treated with various cleaning ma-
terials, it cannot be completely excluded
that some of these materials contain
components that could attack and sof-
ten the rubber feet. If possible place an
anti-slip material under the feet of the
appliance.

2! Battery compartment lid
Setup
Remove the CD-Player with Radio
and the accessories from the trans-
port packaging.
Remove all transport fixing items
and adhesive tape/films.
Place the CD-Player with Radio on a
level horizontal surface. Place the CD-
Player with Radio so, that the flap of
the CD compartment can be com-
pletely opened. For this, the carrying
handle must be folded back.
Inserting Batteries
For bridging power failures the CD-
Player with Radio requires 6 x 1,5 V Typ
D batteries (batteries are not supplied).
Open the battery compartment 2!
on the appliance under side.
Insert the batteries into the battery
compartment
2!, taking note of the
outlined polarities in the battery
compartment
2!.
Carefully close the battery compart-
ment lid until it clicks into place.
Interaction with batteries
Leaking batteries can cause damage
to the CD-Player with Radio.
If you do not intend to use the CD-
Player with Radio for an extended
period, remove the batteries.
Always exchange the batteries in a
timely manner and use batteries of
the same type.

Should the batteries leak, wear pro-
tective gloves and clean the battery
compartment with a dry cloth.
Select sound source
You can choose between the following
sound sources:
•CD
Radio
Use the function switch to select
your desired sound source.
Adjusting the volume.
You can adjust the sound volume with
the volume regulator .
To increase the sound volume turn
the volume regulator clockwise.
To reduce the sound volume turn the
volume regulator anti-clockwise.
Using headphones
You can connect headphones to the CD-
Player with Radio with a 3,5 mm Stereo
jackplug. The headphone connector
is to be found at the rear of the CD-Player
with Radio. When you have connected
the headphones, the loudspeakers are
disconnected and you will only hear
sound via the headphones.
Insert the headphone jackplug into
the headphone connection .
Important! Regular listening to loud
music through headphones leads to
hearing damage.
Radio functions
1. Raise the telescopic antenna and
extend it to full length. Adjust the
antenna positioning so that radio
reception is optimal.
For receiving MW (AM) transmissions,
there is an inbuilt reception antenna.
In radio operation, turn the whole appli-
ance to a position where the best radio
reception is obtained.
2. Adjust the receptionrange (AM/FM/
FM ST.) with the waveband selector .
With the adjustment FM ST radio pro-
grammes transmitted in stereo will be
played back in stereo. Should the pro-
gramme be received in stereo at full
strength the FM stereo display lights
up .
With the adjustment FM the sound is
played back in Mono.
3. Through turning the tuning regulator
, the desired radio station can be
selected.
CD Functions
Inserting a CD
Select the CD function with the
function switch .
Fold the carrying handle back .
To open the CD compartment ,
press the flap at OPEN/CLOSE .

The flap of the CD compartment opens
upwards.
Lay the CD with the printed side up-
wards in the CD compartment .
To close the CD compartment ,
press the flap at OPEN/CLOSE
downwards, until it locks in.
On the display after a short blinking
of „--“ the number of titles on the CD
is shown.
Removing the CD
Press the button STOP and wait
until the CD is no longer spinning.
The CD may no longer be spinning
when you open the CD compartment.
It could be irreparably damaged.
To open the CD compartment ,
press the flap at OPEN/CLOSE .
Remove the CD.
Starting playback
Press the button Play/Pause
 .
In the display „PLAY“ is shown
and the first title is played.
Stopping playback
Press the button STOP .
Interrupting/continuing playback
During playback press the button
Play/Pause
 .
In the display the word „PLAY“
flashes.
To continue playback, press the but-
ton PLAY/PAUSE
 once more.
Next/previous title
To playback one of the forthcoming
titles on a CD, during playback press
the button NEXT
repeatedly,
until the number of the desired title
appears in the display.
To playback one of the previous titles,
during playback press the button
BACK
repeatedly, until the num-
ber of the desired tile appears in the
display.
Title fast forward/reverse
During playback press the button
NEXT
or the button BACK .
Keep the button pressed until the
desired point in the title has been
reached.
Repeat function (REPEAT)
With the repeat function you can repea-
tedly playback indivdual titles of a CD or
all of them.
To repeat individual titles, press
the button REPEAT .
Blinking on the display is RPT.
To repeat all titles on a CD, press
the button REPEAT twice.
Shown on the display is RPT .
To finish the repetitions press the
button REPEAT repeatedly until
the RPT extinguishes.
Programme playing order
You can program an order in which the
titles of a CD are to be played. This is
only possible when the play function
has been stopped

Press the button PROGRAM .
On the display the programme posi-
tion 1 (PRG01) of the title is shown blin-
king, which on playback should be the
first title to be played. 20 program posi-
tions are available for this purpose.
Select with the button NEXT or
the button BACK
the desired
title for the programme position.
To save the programming, press the
button PROGRAM .
To programme further titles repeat
the above detailed steps.
When all 20 programme positions are
allocated, the title numbers are shown
one after the other in the display .
Afterwards „01“ blinks.
Start the programme playback by
pressing the button PLAY/PAUSE

.
To erase the programming, stop the
playback and press once again, in Stop
mode, the button STOP
. PRG
extinguishes in the display. .
Or stop playback and open the CD
compartment.
Query programmed playing order
During the programme playback
press the button STOP
.
Press the button PROGRAM .
The programmed titles are shown
one after the other. Afterwards, the
display blinks the first programme
position PRG 01.
Play titles in random order (RANDOM)
Press the button RANDOM .
The titles on the CD will be played
in random order.
Cleaning and Care
Danger of electrocution:
Never open the appliance housing.
There are no servicable elements
inside.
Never immerse the appliance compo-
nents into water or other liquids!
Do not allow any liquids to penetrate
the housing.
Cleaning the casing:
First remove the plug from the wall
socket.
Clean the housing surface with a
slightly damp cloth Never use
benzene, solvents or detergents
that can damage plastics!
Cleaning the CD-Laser
Clean the laser at regular intervals.
To clean the laser a standard commer-
cial cleaning CD should be used.
Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance
in your normal domestic waste.
Dispose of the appliance through an
approved disposal centre or at your
community waste facility.
Observe the currently applicable regula-
tions. In case of doubt, please contact
your waste disposal centre.

Disposing of batteries!
Do not dispose of the batteries with
household waste. Every consumer is
legally committed to disposing of
batteries at the collection point in
his community or with the trade.
This obligation is intended to ensure
that batteries are disposed of in an
environmentally safe fashion.
Only dispose of batteries when they
are fully discharged.
