6 Important safety information
Please read and strictly observe the following safety
instructions! Non-compliance with these instructions can
result in injury or damage to equipment.
Read this information carefully before using your mobile phone.
These guidelines are provided for your safety. They must always
be carefully observed. If the product was incorrectly handled or
does not seem to function in accordance with the instructions
below, have it inspected by an approved service centre before
charging or using it. Otherwise the device may not work properly
and could damage your health.

6.1 Recommendations for safe use of the product
(mobile telephone, battery, charger and other
accessories)
Treat the device with care and keep it in a clean and dust-free
place.
Warning: Risk of explosion in open fire.
Keep the device dry.
Never expose the device to extremely high or low temperatures.
Never expose the battery to temperatures of above +60° C
(+140° F).
Never expose the device to a naked flame or burning tobacco.
Never drop, throw or bend the device.
Never paint the device.
Never try to dismantle the product or make any modifications to
Silvercrest SH-100

it. The device may only be serviced by authorised JNC
technicians.
Never use the device near medical equipment without the prior
consent of the doctor responsible or an authorised medical
assistant.
Never use the device in the vicinity of planes or in areas in
which you are requested to switch off radio transmitters.
Never use the device in environments with potentially explosive
atmospheres.
Do not place or install the device or wireless accessories in the
area over an airbag or in the airbag deployment area.
Warning: Cracked or broken displays can have sharp edges or
splinters which can be dangerous and cause injury.
Keep the phone, all its parts and accessories (e.g. the SIM
card) out of the reach of small children.
Silvercrest SH-100
14
English
Do not use or store the phone in a dusty or dirty environment,
as the moving parts and electronic components could then
become damaged.
Do not use or store the phone at extremely high temperatures.
High temperatures shorten the service life of the phone,
damage the battery and can deform or melt the plastics used for
its manufacture.
Never keep the phone in extremely cold locations. If the phone
is returned to an environment with a normal temperature,
moisture can form inside the phone which can damage the
electronic components.
The phone can be damaged if handled incorrectly. For this
reason do not drop, shake or knock the phone, as this could
damage its internal circuits.
Silvercrest SH-100
15
6.2 Children
NEVER leave the phone within reach of children.
NEVER let children play with the mobile phone or its
accessories. They could accidentally injure themselves
or others or damage the mobile phone or its accessories. The
mobile phone and its accessories can contain small parts which
can become detached and swallowed, resulting in suffocation.
Silvercrest SH-100
16
English
6.3 Power supply (charger)
Only connect the power supply to power sources which meet
the product specifications. Position the cable so that it cannot
be damaged and is not subjected to strain.
To prevent electric shock, disconnect the device from the mains
before cleaning.
The power supply should never be used outdoors or in a damp
environment.
Do not make any modifications to the mains cable or mains
cable connector.
If the connector does not fit into the socket, have a suitable
socket installed by an electrician.
Only use Silvercrest chargers which were designed for this
mobile phone. Other chargers may not comply with the same
safety standards or power rating.
Silvercrest SH-100
17
6.4 Battery
Charge the battery fully before using the phone for the first time.
The capacity of a new battery or a battery which has not been
used for a prolonged period of time can be lower during the
initial charging cycles.
The battery should be charged at temperatures between +5° C
(+41° F) and +45° C (+113° F).
Only use Silvercrest batteries which were designed for this
mobile phone. The use of other batteries and chargers can be
dangerous. The talk and standby times depend on various
conditions during use of the phone, for example the signal
strength, operating temperature, usage, activated functions,
voice or data transmission etc.
Silvercrest SH-100
18
English
Switch your mobile phone off before you replace the battery.
Never put the battery in your mouth. The electrolytes in the
battery are toxic when swallowed.
Ensure that the metal contacts on the battery do not touch other
metal objects. This can cause a short circuit which can damage
the battery.
Only use batteries which have been approved by the phone
manufacturer.
Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. The full
performance of a new battery is only achieved after two or three
complete charge and discharge cycles.
The charging times depend on the battery and the charger.
The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times,
but it will eventually wear out. When the talk and standby times
are noticeably shorter than normal, replace the battery.
Silvercrest SH-100
19
If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge with
time.
Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger or
the mains, as overcharging can damage the battery.
Leaving the battery in hot or cold places, such as in a closed
car in summer or winter conditions, will reduce the capacity and
lifetime of the battery. A device with an overheated or cold
battery may temporarily not work, even when the battery is fully
charged. Battery performance is particularly limited in
temperatures well below freezing.
Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting can
occur when a metallic object causes direct connection of the
positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery. Short-
circuiting the terminals can damage the battery or the
connecting object.
Silvercrest SH-100
20
English
Never dispose of batteries in a fire.
Note: Only use the battery for its intended purpose.
6.5 Torch
The integrated torch is a laser device of laser class 1. Never shine
the light directly into the eyes.
6.6 Medical equipment
Mobile phones can interfere with the function of pacemakers and
other implanted devices. Never carry the mobile phone over the
pacemaker, for example in your breast pocket. When you use the
mobile phone, hold it to the ear on the other side of the body on
which the pacemaker is fitted. The risk of interference is minimised
